    Thanks for the overview. Isaiah chapters 1,6,7,9,10,11,28,29,40,48,53,62, and 65 are all quoted by the New Testament as being written by Isaiah the prophet, so I do not believe that it was written across multiple centuries.

    Just as a note, scholars split Isaiah up into two or three sections because they don't believe in prophecy (because of the naming of Cyrus before he was born).
    They have no manuscript, ancient attestation or any actual evidence at all of this claim. It's only their presuppositions that prophecy cannot happen so that have to deny pre-cyrus authorship.

      yeah, "experts" are full of themselves and just speculate on when the book was written because if they hold to the fact that Isaiah wrote this before everything happened, they would have to admit that this was in fact a prophecy and that God is real

    I would have thought chapter 1:18 is far more famous,
    Isaiah 1:18
    “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

    Hi; since, as you say, chapters 13-39 aren't really much concerned with historicity, where to you get the idea that these chapters 'deserve to be read for there theological messages of justice and punishment'? Where to you get that? If true, would I be able to take verses in these chapters that speak of 'sheol' and develop sound doctrine concerning the fate of the damned? Thanks

    I am trying to study the book of Isaiah, the information in your clip are very informative and useful. thank you for preparing it .
    I just have a question: what do you mean the 10 tribes were lost ?? so we can say that nowadays Jews are mostly from the tribes of Judah and Benjamin and Levi ???

    • @thecozyconstellation
      @thecozyconstellation 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      they were "lost" because they were taken into captivity by Assyria and they never returned to their homeland of Israel. the southern kingdom was also conquered but years later returned home.

  • @sah1681
    @sah1681 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great overview, thank you. One question though: Ok, Persian king allowed the Jews to return the Southern Kingdom of Judah;, (1) Did he allow the whole 12 tribes of Israel or only the two from the South? (2) What happened to the land of the Northern Kingdom of Israel? Did it stay as part of Persian Kingdom?

    The word Jewish exists nowhere in Thorah. Ancient Hebrews did not have the letter J. There was no name for what my ancestors believed. They simply followed the commandments of their deity YAOH. The people calling themselves Jews or Jewish today are decedents of converts who cannot trace their bloodline to the people of the Bible. This is because Jew-ISH tradition is to trace your ancestry from your mothers side, which is contrary to the book of Numbers, we trace our tribal lineage through Y-DNA, aka your father.

    Who are these scholars that say that Isaiah was not written by one person Isaiah himself?

    • @thestudyofchristianity
      @thestudyofchristianity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Jeremy, a consensus of liberal scholars believe in multiple author and a significant amount of conservative scholars likewise believe it aswell.
      I don’t go through the evidence for it in this video, but I should definitely dedicate a video as to why scholars believe in multiple authorship

    • @jeremyjohn8199
      @jeremyjohn8199 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The Study of Christianity
      I have a feeling that these “scholars” purposely undermine any significant evidence for Christianity for some sinister reason. This is kind of concerning to me because people say I am bordering on conspiracy theory levels with my skepticism regarding these matters. However the people who mock me for it have not experienced or seen the things I have so I am always looking for something new and assuring. Anyway keep up the good work! Thank you for your time and effort.

    • @thestudyofchristianity
      @thestudyofchristianity  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thank you for those kind words.
      Also never believe anyone just because they’re called a “scholar”
      Never let others persuade you with arguments from authority
      If you want to delve a little deeper into this topic, I recommend a man called Michael Heiser, he has a podcast called “the naked bible”
      One of his episodes is about the authorship of Isaiah
      Wrestle with the evidence yourself... and have fun with it 😁
      Thanks again for the support Jeremy

    The angels wrote by prophet isiah with eyes all over maybe god the father himself. It represent god the fathers intelliigence of knowing the past, the present and the future all at the same time. No more consulting the past, no more waiting for the future,while watching the present. The ring eyes rotating maybe god the son.
