Man....is it me or did it feel like it was not running right? It felt like it was sputtering quite a bit at full throttle, maybe not jet it right since it has the bore kit....maybe a bit lean. Anyway sounds awesome down low.

So cool, but seems so slow now. Makes you realize just how fast the four strokes really are, just no comparison. The four strokes just eat it alive!
Thats not true, a 2004 kx 250 2 stroke is just as good as a kx 450 4 stroke. How is it that a brand new kx 450 has less hp than a 16 year old kx 250 2 stroke. A 16 year old kx 250 2 stroke has 55 horse power, that is more horse power than a brand new 2020 kx 450 4 stroke. A 04 kx 250 2 stoke weighs the same, and it is the same height. You think your 4 stroke is better, but a 04 kx 250 2 stroke has more hp with the same height and weight. The 04 kx 250 2 stroke engine is smaller, weighs less, and puts out more horse power than a kx 450 4 stroke. And at the end of the day a 04 kx 250 2 stroke is easier and cheaper to rebuild compared to a 2020 kx 250 4 stroke. I enjoy the smell of 2 stoke engines because I grew up around 2 stroke engines mixing gas every month before climbing, it is in my blood and I know they are strong, light weight, and relible engines. I also do all the work on my 04 kx 250 2 stroke dirtbike so I am a great mecanic and I understand what I am talking about.
Ryan, sounds like you love 2-strokes and that's great! They still have a place in racing, namely enduro, and that's cool. I will always love the smell!
2 stroke's make you think your going faster than what you really are since they feel like they're going to pull you off the bike. For racing 4 stroke's are better and for fun 2 stroke's are better. I don't race so the only thing I care about is having fun.

See also his Go-Pro vid of his subsequent ride at the GH 2-stroke race. Including one sweet rail around the outside pass on one startled Yamaha.
I couldn't believe how perfect it sounded. It's definitely jet'd in right for mid-range power. In the low rpm's it sounds a tad spitty but it doesn't make any power down there anyways. Sort of like a classic 60's muscle car that can barely even idle, and is all kinds of clunky at low rpm's, until you open it up and it screams up the rev range.
I am rebuilding a 2003 kx250 at the moment and struggeling with old plastics like airbox parts. All suppliers which i found don‘t sell those parts anymoremfor 2003 models. Does anybody knows about where to buy those parts as oem? As I understood in the video there‘s a guy named „Jan Primo“ who is selling the parts and used it on this bike as well? Pls advise. Thx
I love it but for whatever reason now 14 years ahead in four stroke technology these two strokes looks so slow? It sounds the rider himself begs for more power even if they have a big Bore kit in it? Nevertheless damn you Steve Whitelock and the AMA for allowing the fourstrokes to have such advantage.
Also the kx has about a 10lb lighter weight difference so you got to factor that in so it has more power to weight ratio but it has about 5-8 less horsepower

This 16 year old hunk of Craigslist junk broke down in Moto 1 and never made it to Moto 2. A far cry from going 1-1 on the Husky last year. Poor Kawasaki.....lol. The #1 plate does not deserve to be anywhere near this steamy turd.
