Will he speak to you soft words? Will he make a covenant with you to take him for your servant forever? Will you play with him as with a bird, or will you put him on a leash for your girls? ...

      What I would really like to see is how Hinduism went from monotheism to polytheism, i see the signs. aLso mentions of Abrahamic Prophets in vedas.
      ~~~ Some hints,
      Rig Veda Book 10 hym 114 : 5 Him with fair wings though only One in nature, wise singers shape, with songs, in many figures. -
      While they at sacrifices fix the metres, they measure out twelve chalices of Soma (alchohol?).
      They got drunk sinfully and made idols of the Imageless One God against their own texts it seems...
      Rigveda book 1 hym 164 v 46 - They call him Indra, Mitra, Varuṇa, Agni, and he is heavenly nobly-winged Garutmān.
      To what is One, sages give many a title they call it Agni, Yama, Mātariœvan.
      Did they divide the One God of Many names and bestower of many favors by the many natural phenomenoms?
Most of us would answer a question we were knowledgeable about but he just cannot commit to any favorites because he sees the totality of each making a vital contribution.
    I’m so pleased our found your channel. For years I’ve sat at home reading Karen Armstrong and the likes of Robert Wright thinking I was ploughing a lonely furrow. No one I know is interested in thinking about comparative religion and my family think in weird (in a nice way!). When I start to talk about religion (or read something like ‘The Case for God’ on the train) people assume that I’m ‘religious’ rather than fascinated by religion. One of the reasons for that fascination is that very contemporary view that being ‘religious’ is somehow outdated and possibly even dangerous! I don’t know anything about philosophy beyond being a layman but I think that religion is “perennial “ as you allude to in this video. It was so connecting and affirming to hear that and to know (at the time of writing this) 77000 people are asking the same questions as me. Thank you so much and keep up the great work.
      Isaiah 44:6- "Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: "I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no God."
      again,
      Romans 3:23: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."
      the LORD warns us not to go after false gods including self-idolatry (or making ourselves out to be God).
      '
      "You shall have no other gods before me.
      You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them and worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments." (Exodus 20:3-4).
      also,
      "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood." (Revelation 22:14-15).
      So please remember friend, The LORD has mercy:
      He says, "Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me." (Revelation 3:19-20).
    No matter what religion you are following (or don't following), you are just doing a wonderful great job. Your "unbiased" academic stand is very helpful and highly appreciated. In today's globalized interacting interdependent world (e.g. Covid-19, prices of oil and gas, ..etc.) and modern www-driven-media outlets, your way of presenting various religions and trends helps to enhance mutual-understanding. Keep your present work going as it is; unbiased, academic and objective as far as possible . We hope you all the best. You may, after retirement, consider to follow a specific religion, but for now, you will be more useful for everybody if you keep the same present style. Your "religion" is between you and God, but your "broadcasted" work is for the benefit of humanity at large, and God knows best. Good Luck.
    Your profound answer to your religion affiliation, reminded me a statement by krishnamurti, “ In pursuit of truth ,the moment you identity yourself with an organization, including religious one, that very identification turns to attachment to the organization and it’s agenda , not the truth “ . It’s a hard fact ! Just simple logic ! We don’t need to be smart to see it , just have to have our minds clear and open and see “what is “ , it also reminds me of a poem by Rumi
    What is to be done, O Moslems? For I do not recognize myself.
    I am neither Christian, nor Jew, nor Gabr, nor Moslem.
    I am not of the East, nor of the West, nor of the land, nor of the sea;
    I am not of Nature’s mint, nor of the circling heavens.
    I am not of earth, nor of water, nor of air, nor of fire;
    I am not of the empyrean, nor of the dust, nor of existence, nor of entity.
    I am not of India, nor of China, nor of Bulgaria, nor of Saqsín;
    I am not of the kingdom of Irãqain, nor of the country of Khorãsãn.
    I am not of this world, nor of the next, nor of Paradise, nor of Hell;
    I am not of Adam, nor of Eve, nor of Eden and Rizwãn.
    My place is the Placeless, my trace is the Traceless;
    ‘Tis neither body nor soul, for I belong to the soul of the Beloved.
    I have put duality away, I have seen that the two worlds are one;
    One I seek, One I know, One I see, One I call.
    He is the first, He is the last, He is the outward, He is the inward;
    I know none other except ‘Yã Hú’ and ‘Yã man Hú.’
    I am intoxicated with Love’s cup, the two worlds have passed out of my ken;
    I have no business save carouse and revelry.
    If once in my life I spent a moment without thee,
    From that time and from that hour I repent of my life.
    If once in this world I win a moment with thee,
    I will trample on both worlds, I will dance in triumph for ever.
    O Shamsi Tabríz, I am so drunken in this world,
    That except of drunkenness and revelry I have no tale to tell.
