    I think that one of the greatest gifts of mindfulness is that it allows a person to stop the needless misery that is self-created and just engage with what actually is.

    Diana, you will always have a special place in my heart. Listening to your free Podcast, I experience the ability to "stay with" the meditation for the first time life, this was a huge step for me. It was the way you stated over and over, "your doing it perfectly" that allowed me to stay open instead of pretending. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I listen to many meditation experts (Kabat-Zinn, Kornfield, Brach, pema) and they are all wonderful, but it was you that helped me bridge the gap.

    I'm so glad that I grow up in a Buddhist Chinese family. I practiced Zen in my childhood and still practice it occasionally. It is a great treasure for me.

    Completely agree. This is a masterful example of what our film is seeking to promote. It's a movement that more people should exercise.

    From my experience meditation can:
    Help you overcome negative thoughts towards others that kill a lot of energy.
    Goes very well with creative tasks.
    Has a short term effect allthough you should do it every day.
    If you notice extreme problems with staying with one thing to do at a time, m. can help.
    The most important reasons are very well explained in this video, thanks for that.
    I´m glad I tried it.

      +Zisch2 I experience those negative thoughts a lot and it is like a moving cinema theater reel in my mind that I always tend to visualize. But, with mindufulness I am slowly starting to experience the benefits and feel the happiness that it brings to my overall wellness; I'd have to be more disciplined and keep practicing and live a happy and peaceful life.

      It should help you pretty good. Keep it on for at least 4-5 weeks (20 min or so) in a row to really understand what it does to you. Then when you let it slip again you will feel pretty clearly what is missing and you will want it back.

I WOULD RECOMMEND FOR EVERYBODY TO TRY THIS WONDERFUL TECHNIQUE AND COME OUT OF ALL THE MISERIES WE CARRY WITHIN OURSELF AND BECOME PEACEFUL AS WELL. WISH THE VERY BEST FOR THE PRACTISE IF ONE DECIDES TO PRACTISE .

    So many things, situations that beset us as adults..... is the loss of the Innocence of a child. I taught my young primary children of 5-6 yrs at the end of the day before dismissing them about mindfulness...we sang our classroom song of putting our crayons and pencils etc back in their containers etc...they loved it...even to washing our hands.

    mindfulness is heartfulness. the experience of love arising in this infinite space that meditation affords us is enlightenment, but only now, and then it's gone. there is a beautiful lament at the impermanence of now. now you see it, now you don't. you simply have to let go to the flow

    It works wonders for everyone regardless of whether they are 'standing still' or 'moving forward'. Do some more research on the benefits and try practicing it yourself. You'll be happy you did.

    Similarly, I believe that children are very creative. When the child starts to color outside the shape, we ask him/her to stop, and only color in the lines. Do what is "right", what we have been doing for year. Little things like this take it away, probably not a good example, but still.

    Can mindfulness help with tinnitus? & can it really help with anxiety?

    • @jkdufair

      I see this is old so I hope you see this. I have tinnitus. It has helped me go from being sad/worried/anxious about it to seeing it as a constant companion. An experience like any other. Hasn’t helped the tinnitus. Helped how I experience it.

    Mindfulness: Meditate with a straight back(HIGHLY IMPORTANT). Put your tongue to the roof of your mouth, keep it there when you inhale via your nose and exhale thru your mouth.
    The object is to focus on your breath, count EACH breath till you reach 10 than repeat.
    Do this for 30min to 1hr a day.

    This MINDFULNESS will make you a present-presence, and if you want to ENHANCE IT, put a SMILE on your face( keeping your tongue to the roof of your mouth ) and hold it throughout meditation.
    Notice how it feels. We attract/create the BEST things/people in life when we're relaxed AND feeling good.
    Notice, you attract/create CRAP when you think negative images and feel stressed(THIS IS WHAT TRULY CREATES PAIN & DISEASES IN YOUR PHYSICAL BODY).
    Remember: I TOLD YOU SO.

    en_lighten up. wake up to being alive. it's miraculous. what is there to complain about? you're alive. if life sucks… you have the opportunity to "un-suck it!". 'Un-suck it and see...

    • @twn5858
      @twn5858 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Un-suck-it. I don't know why, but that made me laugh. I agree with you. You can change things in the real world opposed to trying to change things in your mind, which will accomplishes nothing. It will, however, change things in your brain (neuroplasty and that jive).

    • @papacdub67
      @papacdub67 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      twn5858 thank you. I was smiling as I was typing it. I dig the plasticity of the brain stuff and find it encouraging that we don't have to lie down and accept the status quo. to see we have the potential for great insight is quite illuminating. I believe the infinite potential of 'human-ness' is still in it's infancy. we are light and love personified beyond our tiny minds. breathe and be happy and this in itself will change the world...
