  • Firstly apologies for the distorted sound- my recently repaired FZ2000 is showing the audio level is correct at -6dB but the output is obviously far too high - will need to go back (again!)
In this video I take a look at some accessories that you may want to consider to enhance the experience with the camera.
All the links to the products will be in the free to download e-book from my website once I have updated the contents.

Lots of great info, thanks! I have a light carbon fibre travel tripod that I drilled a small hole in the bottom of the centre tube (The vertical post the camera is mounted to) and added a hook (carabiner would work well too). I hang my camera bag or backpack from this when using the tripod and the extra weight in the centre of the tripod keeps wind vibration and movement down, and also keeps my camera bag off the ground!

Could you just clarify details about the adapter that you're screwing on to the lens hood for telephoto shots? There doesn't seem to be a link in your e-book and I'm not entirely sure what term to use to search for it… Thank you.

If you don't mind me asking - when your FZ2000 is powered off, if you face the lens straight out in front of you and then towards the floor, does it sound like something internally is moving? Thanks in advance.

Graham Houghton - Cheers for that! I only noticed it yesterday and didn’t know if something was up, as previously it wouldn’t turn off (screen froze on ‘Lumix’, lens didn’t retract) and resulted in having to remove the battery to reset it... I’m glad to know I don’t have to take it back though.

Regardless of the aspect ratio of the picture during recording, a RAW image recorded on this
camera is always recorded with the aspect ratio set to [4:3] (4896×3672), but if you perform [RAW
Processing] from the [Playback] menu, the picture will be processed with the aspect ratio fixed as
that at the time of recording. A small side of the reffered lens hood is still in a RAW image because of the aspect ratio [4:3], however if every photo will be processed with the aspect ratio 16:9 the vignette will disappear . The only sad is that each photo have to be processed separately. However the camerra is value for money.

Hello Graham, thank you for all the videos and information about photography. I do enjoy your videos a lot and appreciate all your effort that comes with it. Since my old bridgecanera, a Canon Powershot SX50 HS broke, I decided to buy the Panasonic Lumix FZ82. I do also have the Sony Alpha 6000 but need the bridgecamera for bird and other wildlife photography because of the zoom! Could you please share a link or a product name of the added lens hood for long tele photo that matches the recommended wide angle lense hood in your video? Thank you, and best of luck, greetings from Silvia in Germany

    • @silviasmucke

I got my new lumix fz82 last week and so far got myself a wide angle lens hood. About the tele lens hood I'm not sure which one fits. Hope you can help. Greetings Silvia

Greetings, On my Fz2500 I have the touch-to-focus turned off. If It's turned on the tip of my nose will touch the upper left corner of the screen - changing my point of focus. Are you aware of an add on eye cup that will fit my camera ? With the added thickness maybe my nose wouldn't touch.

It's a 72mm hood in a 55mm to 72mm step up ring similar to the amzn.to/2NBmrgE and amzn.to/2NyiUQe. Only use at telephoto as it will vignette at wider focal lengths

Any recommendations for the FZ2000? I bought one of those which use a magnet to hold the eyepiece to the tripod mount and it turned the touch screen off as soon as it neared the back of the camera....I thought it was something to do with the eye sensor but I turned it off and it was still the same. I brought the eyepiece to the screen without fitting the tripod mount and it worked fine.

    • @GrahamHoughton12
      @GrahamHoughton12  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The quality is "good" but it is a rather limiting camera and you will find it hard to achieve great looking images without some experience of the image creation process.
I would steer you towards an entry level micro four thirds camera or DSLR as the best way to begin shooting. Many great second hand cameras on the market, no need to buy new ones.

I bought a FZ80 and returned it after 1 week. The sensor is simply too small to ever get any kind of decent quality out of it. I returned it and bought the
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 model which has a 1" sensor and 20x zoom, but a much better lens and overall far higher quality camera. It's well worth the extra money for the huge quality improvement. I would strongly suggest returning the FZ80, it's simply not worth sacrificing the quality you could be getting from a larger sensor camera. No amount of adding lenses or changing settings will compensate for the tiny little "toy camera" sensor of the FZ80.

I agree, I have given up with my fz80/82 as I find it impossible to get a clear, in focus image no matter what I try. I do use a tripod but it makes no difference. I wish I had never purchased this camera. I am not a pro but I have used slr's for 35 years or more and have never had this trouble before. Don't be tempted by the huge zoom, that's another story !!!!
