A couple of mistakes, queen victoria never came to india. Victoria terminus was constructed to commemorate her golden jubilee. The head of statue never broke but the whole statue was removed along with many british statues from the streets of mumbai during the early 60s after violent protests from the natives. There is a video in official british pathe website from the era. No one is aware of the whereabouts of the statue. Some say it was sold in black market for a handsome amount. Also sachin tendulkar started playing at shivaji park not oval maidan
Thanks for making the effort to correct some of the information🙂 As regards Queen Victoria statue at CSMT all information we gave in the video is from the official tour of the building. Information they give is politically correct as they don't want to say that the Indian government ordered to take down all British Statues and that some politicians back then sold them off, even though the history books say otherwise. Also, yes Sachin did start playing cricket at Shivaji Park first before he played any other ground. However, he said in many of his interviews that "Shivaji Park, Azad, Oval Maiden and Cross Maidans all played integral part of his development in his early years" before he become the most successful Indian cricketer ever.
@@FairDinkumAdventure The tour operator is either lying or not aware. During the british era there used to be statues of english nobleman, royal family members all across south of the city till gateway. During the mid 60s some statues were vandalized by radical elements. To safeguard the rest, all statues were relocated to the nearby museum. It’s still there. You can google british bombay statues or visit british pathe website where they even have a video from the 60s. Thanks for the good work
