I feel I don't have to explain why this mentality is completely garbage.
RIGHT??? currently finished the remake but now I'm enjoying the previous version, it's a different experience for sure tho both are good in their own ways
I get it's a toxic mindset in general, but there is a reasoning behind it (or at least this is my reasoning), if new generations are gonna experience these games is good to give them an experience that can match the original, that way you can be content that they enjoyed this new version the same way you enjoyed the older version, some games just aren't good enough to be remastered due some severe aging issues, like the original RE2, most people won't even try to get far in the game as soon as they notice the tank controls, which is why the remake was more than necessary, of course in RE4's case I didn't think it was that necessary but if they're gonna do it at least they should make it an experience worth it, not like RE3, I just feel bad for the people who will grow up with that version of the game because of how much of a downgrade it is to the original, they just won't see what was so cool and intimidating about Nemesis, so yeah that's why I think the comparisons between og and remake are a thing
Not only does the plaga feel more scary in the remake via cutscenes, but you can actually physically see it growing on Leon across the playthrough if you take a second to examine his neck and arms, or later on in the island laboratory, his face. It’s creepy and really shows you how dangerous the stakes are
Love the remake but really miss the “interaction” in the cut scenes like if you don’t hit the right combo buttons on the right time you got kill in the cutscenes.. miss that kinda adrenaline..when you have to stay alert even in cutscenes.. for me it was the first game that implemented that in cut scenes whereas in other games you should feel safe in CS.. in the remake you are safe in all CS. Its more emotional than in the OG.
That should have nothing to do with it. The original is far superior. I get simulator sickness and wasn't remotely bothered by the camera movements of the original. I feel bad sounding so defensive, but it seems like everything I care about gets unnecessarily remade and/or shit on, and I hate it. The original is my favorite game of all time and it should have been left alone.
If it wasn't for that over the top shoulder movement, we would not have the RE4 Remake, it was the crown jewel and set up for many games to use the over the top shoulder view
@@englishatheart everyone is different but the remake is better by a slim margin in terms of story.. it's definitely more believable and ashley is so much better.
That's your only complaint? Really? Not the fact "leon" looks and sounds like ass, luis looks like an indian tech scammer and many many character faults.
They tried to make Leon more realistic. His tired look is actually something called "trauma eyes". Deep, sunken, sad, tired, eye bags, tear troughs. Leon has the textbook eyes of a person who has been though some serious shit.
@@jaehaalexander1172 I agree with you. It is widely known that in RE4, Leon portrays himself as a skilled and fearless agent. However, this is merely a pretense to conceal the emotional wounds and psychological trauma he has endured in Raccoon City and his years training/working to the US of A Government. Leon's eyes looked different from other characters, with a unique stare, most of the time "lost" and gaze (soulless eyes), also despite the limited graphics. In the RE4R, his eyes are more tired with dark areas, sad, and tired, which convey more of his traumas through their expression. This is partly due to the massive graphic improvement in the game and the Devs wanted to make them more "emotionally broken". We get to witness more of Leon's struggles and exhaustion, tiredness... Regardless, we can observe the signs of trauma on both (if not all Leon's appearance in RE games, movies and series) his appearance and behavior. Different coping mechanisms for traumas. Sometimes we look and feel brave, getting "better", others we look and feel tired, hopeless -- "an endless duality of personalities."
I absolutely Love the remake because of how much they’ve improved the storyline, new areas, character models, arsenal, atmosphere. However, that has its own downsides like how they gave Chief Mendez character which he actually didn’t need it makes him feel like one of those people who kill people and their reasoning is “because god told me and I’m following his words” and it’s really not a good thing considering how good he was in the original always silent and he would actually have you in fear. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE what they did to Ashely and it makes you actually want to protect her instead of being forced to with her annoying voice in the original and her stupid actions which always gets her in trouble, and the best thing about remake Ashley is how helpful she actually is, and ofcourse how beautiful she is. Another issue with the remake is the cut content/bosses like the U3 fight on the containers being entirely removed, the Verdugo boss not removed but the entire fight being pointless. In the original the fight had a build up to it, Ramon sending the Verdugo to fight Leon and the Verdugo POV creating suspense ( and it still scares me to this day ) but in the remake, he’s just there for absolutely no reason. While there was content which got cut I’m also happy about the new content that got added. Another problem is the Lack of Leon’s Iconic one liners, which would’ve been absolutely gold in the remake, such a missed opportunity I feel like, . Another one is that, ( this is just in my opinion ) is the lack of in-person interaction between Leon and Saddler/Ramon like in the original, for me there was always a sense of fear as to what the boss is going to do anytime they appear to have a small talk with Leon, in the remake it’s all pretty much just Flashbacks, i know it was made to make the story more dramatic and suspenseful but everyone who has played the og Re4 knows thats just over exaggerated. The voice acting is pretty good in the Remake they did an amazing job for Louis 10/10, Ashley also 10/10 ( im biased ) for Leon it’s a 6/10 considering he has a much serious persona in the remake as to his goofy and corny self in the og, for Ada ( might be controversial) its a 9/10 she did a great job, maybe people don’t like it and it’s probably not that good but its certainly not that bad to literally send the VA threats. and also they kind of messed up Leon’s personality in the remake, he’s way serious which ( imo ) nobody really likes and he’s way more brutal which is a good thing and a bad thing but the issue comes on the part when Leon meets Ada in the knife part where if you look at it, he straight up tried to kill her, if she didn’t dodged that she would’ve been dead. that my review for the game overall i give a 6.7/10 because of all the issues i had with this remake but overall it’s a nice remake.

Im enjoying the remake so far currently on my 3rd play through though Im sad of the removal of certain area’s like the Lava room in the castle and the Novistador’s first encounter supposed to be in the castle prison! Of course the mighty U3 cave fight and the laser room. I feel like Luis should’ve still died by Sadler that way it would justify our hate for him! They’ve set Sadler aside on this remake till the very end… He’s only In annoying flashbacks! Also the original made sense after the Delago fight! Delago was tied to the boat on a rope harpoon in the remake after you kill delago the rope just magically disappears??? It was a good QTE to cut the rope in the original!
Playing my 4th playthrough. Luis and Ashley are better in remake. Salazar, Sadler is worse, i miss the radio talks. Krauser and Ada i feel ok, not better, not worse.
I know that RE is filled with ridiculous things but a lava room inside a castle is bit much lol it’s kind of just a weird small section in the og. Much like the ax room. But I feel like it’s not completely gone in the remake. The water room with the tar looks like it’s set up to go in flames; in a dlc maybe.
I like how this remake brings unique features without having to leave aside the 2005 original. Some facts include: - Greater charisma of the secondary characters and their importance in the story (this includes the game's bosses); - The protagonist's story and facts are more in line with his past (here Leon is more mature, but still trying to overcome Raccoon City); - The Level Design shows greater characteristics of the region and the people's history with the Las Plagas (especially in the village, which is the characteristic section of this game); - Ashley in this game is so charismatic and captivating that it makes you want to do everything for her, perhaps one of the high points of this remake (we know how annoying it is to have to deal with the big-eared girl in the 2005 Original); - Saddler becomes a more coherent cult leader and more powerful in his words and actions, making him more threatening (even though there are many loopholes in his plan). This clearly gives the impression that he is not messing around and that he is truly dangerous; - Perhaps the high point of this Remake: the Horror. Here, without the brown filters, the aura of this game makes it much more unique in terms of horror, considering that the original has specific moments of terror. I particularly like the hallucinations that Leon has while he agonizes on the way to Luis's Laboratory. I don't know why, it reminds me a lot of Resident Evil 3.5, the one where Leon suffers from hallucinations due to being infected. It's incredible how this scene in the Remake is done, and how Leon reacts to this infection (the traces of Las Plagas on his skin and eyes); Anyway, a beautiful Remake, making history without disrespecting the Original game from 2005 that will forever be on our Memory Cards.
Hate what they’ve done with the plaza removal scene in the remake. The idea that Leon would put Ashley into an unknown, possibly lethal machine when she’s obviously terrified goes against both his characterisation and general common sense. Also the fact that we’re expected to believe that she wakes up afterward and manages to haul an unconscious man who likely weighs four times more than her onto a table unassisted is laughable.
Hi friends, I prefer to be realistic about this. There's no need for comparison, but here's my take on both. The original, as its name implies, is unique; it's the beginning, seeing the original work, and I would say that in terms of the voices of Leon and Ashley, the work is very well done, even the special effects and everything. The remake, on the other hand, is undoubtedly a copy of the original work, but in terms of the graphics, special effects, screenplay scenes, and many other aspects, they have been very well reworked. However, Ashley really doesn't look like a girl (not to say a woman); we can see that she looks a little more adult on this point, unlike the original where she is childlike and innocent. So here are some qualities and shortcomings from both. For me, there's no comparison because I like both works. I therefore congratulate the CAPCOM team for a great job. It was really worth it. ❤
OG voices were WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. I'm used to the Remake ones now but.....yeah they downgraded the voice acting for the remake, The Remake Salazar fight was way better though; not static and the music was on point. My favourite fight in the whole game
See fun little fact, they wrote the characters to be something like actual people this time so their voice acting accommodated! Weird right? It’s like things shouldn’t just stay exactly the same.
Voice acting is far better dude, much emotional, imagine being blind by nostalgia. U like the dude i saw who said that Re2r got worse Va acting than Original 😂😂😂
There's stuff I like and dislike about the remake, I don't think is good enough for me to consider it a better version of the game, but some changes are really good, I they're equals, not like RE2 where I think the remake stomps the original or RE3 where the remake sucks in comparison to the original, this time it has an equal amount of pros and cons
@@Mauldrom the remake removed and modified parts of the original game, some became less interesting and some enemies are missing, if you think the remake is just better you must be judging on a very superficial level

my first playthrough of resident evil 4 was actually vr, and when i saw ashley get infected, i was actually quite shocked because i thought this would be the start of a boss battle
These new gamers are easily swayed by prettier graphics in exchange for less content and less mechanics. And the voice acting was perfect in the original.
I'm just going to say it, this remake is LEAGUES above the original. It's so much better in almost every way. Games have moved on and really evolved now and this remake perfectly reflects that, with way more loveable characters, far more satisfying combat and stunning graphics. The only possible explanation to thinking the contrary would be unshaken nostalgia.
@@LSK2KI would say this is not the case, you only didn't look well enough. You did even remember how generic games in general were back in 2007/2015? We had a bunch of Shooter games, each one a carbon copy of each other, we had the "New" Super Mario Bros, there almost were any good RE games, as they tried to copy shooters. Nostalgia make us remember the best of those eras while we see the worst of this era, but that doesn't necessary mean that this era was better or worse.

But of course, memories tend to make past times more sweet denying the BS they had. Or don't you think that in ten years laters, people like you are gonna say "Man, I despise these generic games man, I miss the times where whe had BoTW, Hollow Knight, RDR2, Doom Eternal, GoW and a lot more"?. But as they say "any past time were better"
If you’re gonna use nostalgia to dismiss other people’s opinions, then I’m going use recency bias to dismiss your opinion as well. If games have evolved so much then how come I find RE4’s gunplay more satisfying? Due to the weapons feeling more powerful + laser sight for all weapons + consistent enemy feedback and staggering. The remake’s staggering mechanics in professional mode are bad, the enemies basically become bullet sponges and the combat becomes doll. Why do I find RE4’s tanks controls more snappy and responsive than the remake’s “modern” controls? Leon in the remake just feels clumsy and heavy to control, which can be annoying especially on higher difficulties where the enemies try to grab you every 2 seconds. If the original developers of RE4 were basically caveman who didn’t know what they were doing than how did they create better Ashley Ai in 2005? Ashley is a better character in the remake in terms of writing, but her Ai is downgrade from the original. In the original you can tell her to wait + she rarely got in the way and she never randomly ran into enemies. She was predictable in the OG while in the remake she was unpredictable and got in the way much more often. Then there’s the characters, the only characters I thought were approved were Ashley and Luis. The other characters were either on the same level as the original (Leon and Krauser) or just worse (Ada, Saddler, Salazar). Saddler and Salazar never had depth as villains (I mean it’s a RE game after all) but at least they were entertaining in the original because of their back and forth banter with Leon. In the remake, they don’t have that much interaction with Leon. As for the voice acting, all of the voice actors in the remake were good except for Ada and Krauser IMO. Ada sounded like she doesn’t care and I felt like Krauser tried too hard to sound tough (he sounds like a badass in the original but it never felt forced). The remake is good, but it doesn’t replace the original nor does it improve every aspect. It offers a different experience and doesn’t really scratch the same “arcadey” itch as the original. Both are good for different reasons.

I feel I don't have to explain why this mentality is completely garbage.
@@JoseViktor4099 yeah, it is a terrible mentality to have.
They are kids. Both game are not different, just enjoy.
RIGHT??? currently finished the remake but now I'm enjoying the previous version, it's a different experience for sure tho both are good in their own ways
The weird camera movement of the original caused me headaches and left me feeling unwell, so naturally I like the remake a lot more.
@@englishatheart we are all different. I can see that you are pissed but you can still play the old game. You don't need to play the remake.
If it wasn't for that over the top shoulder movement, we would not have the RE4 Remake, it was the crown jewel and set up for many games to use the over the top shoulder view

Leon seems much more tired than the original
@@jaehaalexander1172they made Leon serious like he’s not making jokes like in the original

33:50 closed my eyes for all of that
this RE4 remake should be a new standard for any other game when it come to make the game remake
This big dude really loves choking Leon huh?👀
I absolutely Love the remake because of how much they’ve improved the storyline, new areas, character models, arsenal, atmosphere. However,
that has its own downsides like how they gave Chief Mendez character which he actually didn’t need it makes him feel like one of those people who kill people and their reasoning is “because god told me and I’m following his words” and it’s really not a good thing considering how good he was in the original always silent and he would actually have you in fear.
Not reading all that
the Remake is just Awesome, Cool and more Action !
..and less horror feeling because of that
The scenes of Leon in the remake reloading the pistol are very satisfying
Remake is better
1- wear the chicken hat you will get less damage=shield laughing on the corner) at least original you can buy shield protect you and looks nice-so in remake leon looks a joke when wear the chicken hat🤡
2-wear the cat ears you will get infinite ammo🤡 we was wanted like RES5 the way they did infinite ammo perfect
3-you got 3 hits at once-and sometimes enemies 1vs1 punched-same time catch-when you almost jump on window they still can hit it's seems like you didn't jumping they return you back
4-how far you're but enemies still can throw dynamite their Accuracy is perfect-leon when he far from dynamite he still standing and cover his eyes so enemies still have chance to hit leon
5-they didn't add lncendiary grenade
6-you can't say to ashley hide or wait somewhere so you can go clear the area from enemies
7-(leon kennedy) paul mercer voice>>>nick-(Jack krauser) Jim voice>>>Mike (Luis) rino voice>>andre
(merchant) Paul mercer voice>>>michael
8-they changed ada clothes in the mercenaries of original ada clothe perfect+in the story if you still remember which I'm talking about
9- in difficulty hard+professional they make enemies faster then leon-in the original they made their damage higher only that's perfect
10- when ashley rotate wheel for bridge enemies attack her and sametime regenerator attack leon
11- Jack krauser in the mercenaries TMP so much weak
12-when your health red leon is very heavy to walk or run- in the original he still running like normal
13- they didn't add laser aiming on all weapons like original
So remake can't hide his badness things but original hide his badness things

Luis dying by Sadler's demon dick was nothing but hilarious. Luis and everything about him is better in the remake.
The fucking lava room and drill scene were dumb as shit, I worried they WOULDNT cut it.

But i still miss that sound "Aaralilo"
The moment when she puts the knife at her neck i literally screenshotted it and post on reddit XD
I like how this remake brings unique features without having to leave aside the 2005 original. Some facts include:
- Greater charisma of the secondary characters and their importance in the story (this includes the game's bosses);
- The protagonist's story and facts are more in line with his past (here Leon is more mature, but still trying to overcome Raccoon City);
- The Level Design shows greater characteristics of the region and the people's history with the Las Plagas (especially in the village, which is the characteristic section of this game);
- Ashley in this game is so charismatic and captivating that it makes you want to do everything for her, perhaps one of the high points of this remake (we know how annoying it is to have to deal with the big-eared girl in the 2005 Original);
- Saddler becomes a more coherent cult leader and more powerful in his words and actions, making him more threatening (even though there are many loopholes in his plan). This clearly gives the impression that he is not messing around and that he is truly dangerous;
- Perhaps the high point of this Remake: the Horror. Here, without the brown filters, the aura of this game makes it much more unique in terms of horror, considering that the original has specific moments of terror. I particularly like the hallucinations that Leon has while he agonizes on the way to Luis's Laboratory.
I don't know why, it reminds me a lot of Resident Evil 3.5, the one where Leon suffers from hallucinations due to being infected. It's incredible how this scene in the Remake is done, and how Leon reacts to this infection (the traces of Las Plagas on his skin and eyes);
Anyway, a beautiful Remake, making history without disrespecting the Original game from 2005 that will forever be on our Memory Cards.

I personally love the original and remake.
Ashley in the cover looks pretty cool
I'm just going to say it, this remake is LEAGUES above the original. It's so much better in almost every way. Games have moved on and really evolved now and this remake perfectly reflects that, with way more loveable characters, far more satisfying combat and stunning graphics. The only possible explanation to thinking the contrary would be unshaken nostalgia.
Nope. The nostalgia strawman is only to dismiss arguments. Games have gotten homogenized, generic.
@@JoseViktor4099 you had resident evil 4, half life, bioshock, dead island, dead rising, assassin's creed, bionic commando and these are just the examples on top of my head. How are any of these a carbon copy of each other?
@@LSK2K Funnily enough, some games you said were pre-2007. Assassin Creed was milked af even pre-2016. And saying 2-3 exceptions to the rule are not gonna deny the fact that those times were not much better than this time . Because I can say 10+ Incredible games that are not generic at all.
23:52 Does Leon supposed to be the one that said this? Aww man, idk but this feel heartwarming. A Cool Acrobatic man saying such this thing is just Heartwarming.
I love the atmosphere and the Music+Soundeffects way more in the OG but everytime I say that, people just tell me thats nostalgia. I dont even say I hate the Remake, Atmosphere and Music is not everything wtf..
Original offers a lot of realism and freedom. In the original game you can shoot through wooden doors and its just funner to play. The remake is great but it fails in comparison.
i love the original version more than the remake one....
