I think that there was a really huge piece of evidence to show that Rose was PD, and it was way back in S3! In episode 20/21 you meet Bismuth, the gem that forged weapons during the war. She created gem-specific weapons for each crystal gem, Rose's being her sword. She said specifically : Made so it won't shatter a gem. But then there's the story that Rose used her sword to shatter Pink Diamond. The most that would've happened is that PD would've been poofed, which as we know from S5, is exactly what happened. Ho does that make Rose PD though? Well it just means that the entire plan to fake the shattering would've been based on that fact about the sword. :)

Welcome, Arielle! I gotta say, I was on the "There's no way Rose can be Pink Diamond" train initially, but after editing this episode, there are some really good points made! Even if there are a few too many unanswered variables to know for sure
And that's also a good point about Rose Quartz being super OP. If there were any more like her wandering around, The Diamond authority would probably have much bigger issues to deal with

If Pink Diamonds have a lots of quartz how can the Rebels win? How can the Crystal Gem win the fight if they have a lot of healers like Rose does. If every quartz can heal why do the Crystal Gems shatter pink. I think what makes Rose really special is because like what we see on the show on how Lars been revived, Steven put so much emotion in him that he cried and revive him, maybe all Rose Quartz can do that but only our Rose Quartz get to that level because of her bond and her powers fully been used to the extent she is OP. The only problem I have with this being confirmed is the fact that the cut of her gem doesn't match up once it's positioned to look like a rose quartz. Same goes for the color of the gem. Eyeball said so herself that Stevens gem was a different shade of pink compared to your usual rose quartz, but once it's zoomed in on, it's shown to look like any other rose quartz you can see bubbled in the Diamonds' base. Aside from that, I'm okay with this being canon.

I like Arielle. Maybe one way to explain to explain the gap between the start of the rebellion and Pink Diamond's death is that the original Rose Quartz soldier that rebelled eventually inspired Pink Diamond first to start the Human Zoo and then to stop the destruction of Earth. Knowing that the rebellion would need Pink's leadership skills and power and Pink knowing that she couldn't save Earth as a Diamond, they willingly switched places with plans to "destroy" Pink to send a message to the other Diamonds. Pink's attendants were loyal enough to know of and help with the plan with the Pearl given free will to but stuck with the body Pink now inhabits. I might be completely wrong and full of holes, but it may help explain.
