Unpopular theory: Pink Diamond didn't bubble Bismuth because she wanted to shatter gems, she did it because Bismuth was the only one besides Pearl who knew that sword couldn't shatter gems. If Bismuth debated it she could have exposed everything. Dark.
I've seen it more as Bismuth create a weapon that could win the war, a weapon that could shatter a diamond. And since Rose and Pink are the same person, she chose to remove Bismuth in secrecy, cause it would throw a lot of shade on Rose If she would disregard publicly a weapon that could win them a war,or something like that
When Steven asks Pearl: "What was mom like?" Pearl replied: "She was courageous and brilliant, and beautiful. Sometimes, you look so much like her." Where as Steven replies "Really?", with a shot of Steven next to Rose's painting, looking nothing alike. I think Pearl was referring to the looks of Pink Diamond and not Rose Quartz.
One more. In the episode "it couldve been great" when peridot is trying to make the stairs work they dont actually get triggered until pearl takes her first step onto them. Pearl triggered the stairs because she was a diamonds pearl and that was a diamonds base
The quote “If every pork chops were perfect, we wouldn’t have hotdogs” Saying that if pink diamond was perfect and she committed to her colonisation, we wouldn’t have rose/steven. Thus the reason rose liked and used the quote when activating her laser light cannon
Uh, also... Hotdogs are meat put into a new form and put into a bun... i.e. Pink to Rose to Steven!! Humans are like frail bread. 😖 And he is... male...... 😅 🤯 Also, the pork chop bit-- (it's long but there's alot to it) "...a loin cut taken perpendicular to the spine of the pig and usually containing a rib or part of a vertebra. Pork chops are not processed and are leaner than other cuts of pork." (i.e. the spine refers to leadership, not processed; perfect as is like a diamond, cut from the spine and retains a vertebrae like Pink retaining leadership as Rose, pigs are pink, and it's a lean cut like skinny Pink Diamond!!) Also, the making of hotdogs/sausages is disgusting, just like Pink Diamond's morally unnerving tail. And hotdogs are made from scraps i.e. she made herself into scraps by shattering herself to live as Rose/Steven.
I think a large piece of foreshadowing to me was the fact that rose had all these special powers like healing, reviving, and having two different weapons, when no other quartz had anything close to that.
I always felt like that was the most obvious one, like its pretty absurd to think that all of Steven's powers was from a gem of the same rank as Amethyst/Jasper
Late to the party, but a BIG one you missed is that whenever the characters are traveling through one of the portals made by Lion, a certain musical chord plays. This is the same exact one that is used every time another diamond shows up on screen.
I just realised something The biggest foreshadowing about PD is Rose's Room Not the episode, but the room itself A lie, an illusion, deception, the room doesnt have anything real in it, it just pretends things exist
And the fact that the Rose's sword can poof a gem but can't shatter one, if that was the case how would Rose be able to shatter Pink Diamond like everyone thinks including the crystal gems. And maybe was another reason why she kept Bismuth bubbled because she would've known immediately that something was wrong because she made the sword.
Pink deliberately made bismuth make her a sword that could instantly poof a gem but never shatter one, so when she faked her shattering she wouldn't get shattered in the process
Also, in The Trial, this big line that sends everyone into a tizzy is "AND WHERE WAS HER PEARL?" Pearl was the only real gem not accounted for in Pink's protection. She was busy staging the shattering of her diamond
And Idk if the other pearls knew or not, but they looked a bit panicked in reaction to that statement in particular, so I think they knew not a lot, but something.
@@gudiel4532 Because Pearl is thinking like "I even know that she is the pink diamond. How can I not know that she has a lion?" She knew the biggest secret of Pink. And It is weird when it comes to little secrets which Pearl didn't know.
Hell, all of Pearl's verse could've been foreshadowing "If you could only know what we really are" "When we arrived on Earth from out beyond your star" "We were amazed to find your beauty and your worth" "And we will protect your kind, and we will protect your Earth"
well i mean their not from earth, like imagine saying ur gonna protect someone elses house, ur not gonna say ur gonna protect my house, ur gonna say were gonna protect *your* house
Okay this may be far fetched, but when the gems are on the moon base with the rubies and Eyeball starts talking about Pink Diamond, Leggy is like "Who is that anyway" and Eyeball responds "THAT is Pink Diamond" AND THEN IT CUTS DIRECTLY TO STEVEN. Like, just a closeup to his face. Not even a reaction. Just a shot of him for no reason. And only of him. They don’t show the faces/reactions of the others.
Animators are so clever honestly. I mean they have to condense everything into ~24 minutes, and draw every frame. Every shot is carefully decided and defended with reason, so looking back with context like this is so fun
remember the gag from Future Vision when Steven envisions Cookie Cat killing him? "Cookie Cat you're real? Ah no! I never even considered you'd be evil." If Cookie Cat is an illusion to Rose Quartz that line takes on a new meaning.
I sincerely hate to do this, but it's allusion, not illusion. Allusion is a literary device that foreshadows or makes a reference to popular media or another main event, while illusion is when something has a deceptive appearance.
Not gonna lie I COMPLETELY forgot that Bismuth said that Rose's sword couldn't shatter gems, in hindsight that would probably be the biggest clue to anyone who remembered that detail that it was all staged. That and the fact they make it pretty clear that Rose was from homeworld but later they state Rose would have been made on Earth just like the rest of Pink Diamond's gems, which doesn't add up.
How did I miss the whole Bismuth's "can't shatter the gem" (paraphrased) vs. Blue's "This is the sword that shattered Pink" (again, paraphrased) when Blue SHATTERED Rose's sword...
I noticed one possible piece of foreshadowing in the episode “On the run” when Pearl is talking to Amythest in the kindergarden, she says “You’re the one good thing that came out of this mess.” But If Rose Quartz came out of the kindergarden as well, wouldn’t pearl have said something more like “You’re one of the only good things that came out of this mess.” But I don’t know if that really counts as for-shadowing...
You missed a HUGE one in on the run, Pearl says Amethyst was the only good thing to come out of the kindergarten but “Rose Quartz” was supposed to come out of that kindergarten!
we not gonna talk about the fact that rose just hAppened to have extra powers that nobody else had, yk, suggesting she's not like the other rose quartz soldiers
When Rose had that conversation with Pearl and calls her "My Pearl," it was a big gesture. Gems call other gems by the title of "My" it implies they are a VERY important gem. Hence, "MY Diamond".
What about the episode Steven and the Stevens? In the end when he is singing, he says 'don't go back in time, or you'll destroy yourself'. His eyes get diamonds in them. The last line of the song also contains the sentence: 'I learned to stay true to my self, by watching myself die'.
Steven’s placement at the very beginning of the second opening. Garnet at top, Amethyst and Pearl in the middle and Steven at the bottom, much like the Diamond Authority placement, with Steven in Pink Diamond’s place.
Also when Steven asked to see his mom in their room, he says “you’re not real, are you” he was referring to the fact that it was only because of the room that he was seeing his mom but it could be interpreted that rose isn’t real
"I barely know you." "That's a good thing." Also the Rose Quartz gems that were bubbled can be seen from the side view, so we have a clear distinction between Pink's gem and a Rose's gem.
In we need to talk, when rose and pearl fuse, if you listen closely you can faintly hear the diamond theme. Also, in the extended intro, pearl tells Steven "we'll protect *your* earth" quite literally *his* earth
Awestruck Vox, you forgot the fact that in 'Its Over Isn't It?' When Pearl said Reinvention she glanced at the Rose 🌹 You know, Pink reinventing herself as Rose Quartz
The real question is, what was their plan if the penny didn't crush them... Thatd be a very awkward interaction as either two face unties them or he slowly rolls it back to the flipper
In the Its Over Isn't It clue when Pearl says "reinvention " she looks at the flower WHICH IS A ROSE Just pointing that out I always assumed that Pearl meant her own reinvention, turns out it was Rose's all along
In that episode, there was also a hint that Steven was pink diamond. When he starts to sing “Both of you” Greg turns yellow, Pearl turns Blue and Steven turns pink. It’s symbolic to how Yellow Diamond and Blue Diamond both miss and love Pink Diamond and were upset when she was shattered. Steven turning pink not only hints Pink Diamond usually brought all of the Diamonds together so they stayed like a family, but it also hints that he is ACTUALLY Pink Diamond
No, the bits don't reference that. The bits are tiny pieces, deformed and discarded pieces of the potato, Steven loves the bits. This could show that pink diamond loved what was unique and different, like the pebbles and aliens.
I like the cut of your gem, the way you think. Also is it funny that whenever I use dictate to try and say gem, it keeps correcting as either Jim or jam?
There's a bit more to the Lion thing - In Bubby's book we see her hanging out in the desert which is presumably where she met her feline companions. What's she got stashed away in the desert? *Her old spaceship. * So here's why she never mentioned Lion to Pearl: She didn't want to explain that she was doing in the desert/ perhaps felt guilty about returning to some place that had a connection to her old life. Maybe she's got some pic of herself with the other Diamonds on the hard drive that she could never quite bring herself to delete.
KendrixTermina since Future is out and close to wrapping up, I’ve seen a theory that the dessert is where Pink would go to unleash some of her destructive powers (like her scream that hurt Volleyball, the one we saw Pink Steven do in Change Your Mind and Steven do in The Reef while trying to help heal Volleyball). This theory also states that Rose hurt/killed Lion, and feeling bad and guilty, brought him back to life. [EDIT:] We learned in Volleyball that Pearl wasn’t aware of Pink/Rose’s destructive powers, which is why Rose hid the dessert hideaway and Lion away from her.
10:08 I went back in time to the exact moment when I watched this scene of Ronaldo rotating that Diamond into his head, that exact moment when I thought, “Why would you position it that way now it looks like a different ge-” AND SLAPPED MYSELF.
Alright so I missed most of this and it blew my mind how far back the foreshadowing goes! There was one piece that was left out but you already touched on it with Stevens hair shape Pearl: You look so much like her Steven: *looking at Roses portrait then looks at Pearl* Really?! At first it seemed Pearl was just being sentimental but now we know Steven looks SO MUCH like his mother
When Pearl talks to Steven in Gemcation, the piano bangs when she covers her mouth, and there is similar music when she does the same in A Single Pale Rose. There is also a violin rift used in Its Over that is also used when it is revealed that Pearl shapeshifted into Rose. They use music in a very clever way.
07:18 for 'Giant Woman', when steven said "But if it were me, I'd really wanna be a giant women," it could've also been a reference to the fact that pink diamond was the littlest of the diamond authority, and that she was significantly smaller than Blue, Yellow and White. It could also be pointing out when pink wanted a colony, like steven wanted pearl and amethyst to form opal, she kept asking and so did steven, "but if it were me, id really like to... Steven: be a giant woman" Pink: have a colony"
Isn’t in that same rose and Greg scene there some lines where Greg says he wants to get to know the real Rose and rose says he shouldn’t want to or something? I’d say that’s some foreshadowing
1.) The money has a Diamond & a Sneeple. 2.) When he warped, he did the Diamond Salute. 3.) All his Pink clothes. 4.) The Diamond pupils in his eyes. 5.) Pearl being a _Fancy_ Pearl.
Rebecca Sugar: Rose calling Pearl "my pearl" doesn't refer to Rose owning Pearl, but rather to Rose respecting Pearl, seeing as the only gems referred to as "My" are the Diamonds and other high ranking gems The Roundtable: Y'all hear sumn...
Only just realizing that pearl expressing her feelings with song is sort of reclaiming what she did on HomeWorld. There she would’ve been commanded to sing on a regular for others. The first thing she does when she rejuvenates is sing. In Mr. Greg she sings for herself. Also applies to Do it for Her, to a certain extent, since she was singing for Connie too.
You missed in "Return" when Steven punches the airbag is reminiscent to when Rose punches the controls on the Ferris wheel, to when Stevonnie/PD punch the mirror
Okay here is another thing How the heck would a rose quartz soldier have the ability to heal gems and ORGANIC matter And then how was her son able to almost heal a corrupted gem which was done by the diamonds VERY CLEAR FORSHADOWING
Could have actually worked. Rose Quarz gems are known for having healing powers in real live, so they could have gotten away with that. The other abilitys are actually the ones that I questioned more
Pearl being uncomfortable with shape-shifting was also established in Cat Fingers. We do see another Pearl that didn't belong to a diamond -- the one that's part of Rhodonite.
And she also said, “if you could only know what we really are, when we arrived on earth from out beyond your star.“ Sugar was trolling us from the beginning; Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond and she was probably dying to tell us!
I was watching it in french with english subs and when they were talking about Pink Diamond the subs called her "Pink" but when they spoke about her palanquin it was called "the ROSE palanquin" in the subs. (yes I know rose is french for pink, but it was the only time "Rose" was used in the subs without Rose being the topic)
I don't know if anyone mentioned this before, but in the episode where Steven goes to have dinner with Connie's family, Steven agrees when Connie suggests that they should run away and start a new life, that's also foreshadowing in my book.
Even Connie has some kind of idea of living on her own with Steven. Just like how Pearl was supposed to make Pink Diamond happy but only had some kind of idea that didn't work.
in We Need to Talk, when Rose starts laughing at Greg, Greg flinches and there's a pink flash and a shattering noise in the background In The Answer, when Rose poofs the Ruby fusion, there's two white flashes, followed by a pink cracking one Rose was able to shapeshift a womb and reproductive system for 9 months straight in order to give birth to Steven. However, Amethyst, the best shapeshifter we know, could only hold a form for a couple hours straight at the most before getting too uncomfortable and tired, even when she took occasional breaks when no one was looking Alexandrite has a pinkish diamond on her chest When Steven and Connie are in Rose's room, the room creates the creepy Connie with the white dress and eyepatch who only does what Steven wants until she turns on him. Then the real Connie comes to the rescue. Similarly, Pink had her Pearl until she and White presumably swapped, and Pink Pearl got taken over by White and her eye got all cracked and the Pearl we know became a fighter for Pink/Rose. Also the book in that episode sounded awfully *_Familiar_*
You missed "Steven and the Stevens" episode's Steven diamond pupils during the line "I learned to stay true to myself / By watching myself die" (this line is foreshadowing itself)... and whole episode subtext in general. Also, in the same episode: "Steven and the Stevens / We're gonna make you smile / Me, myself, and I, and him / Are all the same guy". Not to mention all Sadie Miller's arc: from singing about being a star to singing about being a ghost. Also "why can you seem me" literally foreshadow both Pink Diamond low role in the Diamond Authority hierarchy and the fact that Diamonds refuse to see Steven as... well, Steven.
Also, theres a moment in that episode just after steven sings that line, where Pearl gives a strange look. Its a split second thing but its so obvious once recontextualised
I guess the main thing that stands out for me, looking back, is that it's pretty much established that quartz gems aren't much use for anything besides being muscle to use as soldiers and bodyguards. Yet Rose had all sorts of abilities, including being able to heal with her tears, and resurrect dead animals into immortal beings with pocket dimensions in their hair, coupled with the fact that she also passed onto Steven the ability to fuse with humans, something even she thought was impossible (remember the way she laughed in Greg's face?). Definitely more to her than we all thought at the start.
I have a theory! So you know how PD was shattered into gem shards? I think the reason that homeworld was so focused on forced fusion was because they wanted to be able to bring pink back with it. So they experimented by shattering gems and fusing then together. This is especially present in the fact that most forced fusions are in yellows room. Being a nod to the fact that she expressed more by doing than blue diamond crying.
That's actually really smart and makes a lot of sense and it also solves why they would've ever started doing forced fusion on gems that they would otherwise not care about
You don't have to tell me why but can you explain why you thought that because it sounds very interesting and i whod love to know more about it (btw i love you panic! At the disco profile)
I remember when I joined the Rose Quartz = Pink Diamond bandwagon the second it took off. I thought we were wrong the entire time A Single Pale Rose really blindsided me tho
You didn’t explain the last part so here for Sadie song so here you go: “I got them dazzle like a stage magician.” It like how pink diamond shapeshifter into rose quartz and no one knew except pearl. “When I point they look and when I talk they listen.” This might mean when rose speak up.They listen and believe her to save the planet like if she point somewhere, even it’s just a blank space. They will believe there’s something, so they look. “Well everybody need a friend and then I got you, and you and you. So many, I can’t even name them. Can you blame me?” That’s when her army start building up and massive gems agree to join the war. “I’m too famous.” Rose message spread across the universe that she’s protecting earth and fighting against herself. “Hadn’t you notice I’m a star.” The diamonds think the crystal gems are not a big deal like they hadn’t notice this rebellion is spreading every where on earth and becoming a threat. “I’m coming to view that’s the world is turning.” Pink diamond and pearl preparing for the fake shattering like how every going to change and as rose said: Isn’t it going to be exciting? As her view. “Hasn’t you notice I made it this far?” Having the diamonds notice she fake as her own enemy and finally for her death. “Now everyone can see me burning.” Now all her soldier and army could see pink diamond die in front of their eyes
Some you forgot! Keep Beach City Weird!: "The Great Diamond Authority! They're here to hollow out the Earth! *_They'll take on any form!"_* You could argue that's true of any Gem, and that he was referring to a Gem's ability to shapeshift, except... "Rocknaldo" proves that Ronaldo wasn't aware that the Crystal Gems were also the same. Which means this passing shapeshifting comment lands *_specifically_* on the Diamonds. Say Uncle: Upon arrival, Uncle Grandpa emerges from a clam shell, wearing Rose Quartz's disguise. Quartzes and diamonds are not formed in clams, but guess what is? Pearls! And who shapeshifted to look like Rose? Pearl! That entrance, while bizarre, was a literal THROWAWAY REFERENCE to Pearl shapeshifting to disguise as Rose. Monster Reunion: Nephrite/Centipeetle, when asked about who caused the corrupting light, drew an image of the Diamond Authority logo (sans Pink). At the very end of the episode, he asks Pearl to teach him how to write in Gem, and makes this comment, "Just a few things, like, 'Hi, how are you?' 'Where's the bathroom?' and... 'I'm sorry.'" While saying this last line, he holds up the drawing of the broken Diamond Authority logo (ironically with the open Pink Diamond slot facing him). While Pink wasn't part of the attack, she was the reason it was done in the first place. Your Mother and Mine: During the speech between Rose and Pink, there's a stylized background. Rose's background is a rose in front of a diamond. Another interesting note, but the way the hands are positioned when they go to attack reflect that of the Diamond Authority logo. We then see all three lights in the sky while Rose grabs Garnet and Pearl and brings them under the shield; the other three Diamonds over her. We Are The Crystal Gems (extended version): Pearl's background is composed of diamonds, that partly get covered by the billowing Crystal Gems flag. From this same one, the pose the new theme song starts on has Garnet at the top, Pearl and Amethyst at the sides, and Steven at the bottom (his hands in a position remarkably similar to that of the Diamond Salute before brushing them out to activate the Warp Pad). The interesting thing is our Gem's respective positions when compared to the symbol. Garnet is at the top, in White's spot. Aloof and above the others while taking charge and leading them, yet also having a rather limited knowledge on social interaction and emotional understanding, while also seeing more than her teammates; this coincides well with White. Amethyst is to Garnet's right (the screen's left), in Yellow's spot. Distant and uncaring on the surface, while hiding her true feelings until they're revealed in moments of weakness. Does her best to focus on the present and dislikes the past. Feels guilty for something she couldn't control and blames herself. Refuses to fall apart on those she cares about and provides a supporting hand to those she cares about. Acts on instinct and has a bit of a temper, especially when triggered. Sometimes rushes into doing something, getting impatient with it, and jumping the gun; all of which sync rather well with Yellow. Pearl is on Garnet's and Amethyst's left (the screen's right), in Blue's spot. Emotional (rather openly), dwells in the past, looks to others for support but can be dangerous of her own merit. Dedicated most of her time and efforts into keeping someone else's wants and desires alive, clinging to it for comfort. Dislikes anyone trying to force her to get over her attachments. Obsessive over the one she loved to the point where it blinded her at times from seeing people as they were. Grieved long and hard over the one she lost. Defensive of the past and quick to fly off the handle when someone confronts her; these traits are rather prominent of Blue as well. Lastly, Steven, being at the bottom and in the place of Pink. Who he literally now possesses the gem of. Who he took the spot of. Who shares so much in common with her that it's uncanny. Hell, "Familiar" ITSELF *_literally_* acknowledges that the situation Pink was in with the Diamonds was an *_exact_* parallel to what Steven was initially in with the Crystal Gems. This went on a bit longer than I imagined, and I believe I still missed some. But there's just too many good coincidences.
@@PlanetPie070 To be frankly honest, I have absolutely no idea. I don't know why people have subscribed to me when all I do is make the occasional TH-cam comment.
This is old but when Steven and Connie were training and Steven wanted to help Connie instead of Connie fighting alone and getting hurt Pearl said “You shouldnt be anywhere near the fight, you’re too important” same thing for the diamonds, they have soldiers to fight for them
Also pearl slips up and says amethyst is the ONE good thing that came out of the kindergarten implying no other good things came out of the kindergarten (Rose Quartz)
Riskier Daisy lol the video resolution needs to be 720p or 1080p to see it clearly. I just had to double check myself because I didn’t see it at first when my resolution was 480p.
i had a theory about "Haven't You Noticed (I'm A Star)" being the origins of the diamonds! my theory is that the song title foreshadows the diamonds origins, that they were made from stars. hence white diamond calling pink diamond "starlight". the song also foreshadowed white diamond's mind control: "I got a pair of eyes that they're getting lost in; I hypnotize by the way I'm walking"
You forgot that the very CONCEPT of Tiger Millionaire(Purple Puma as well)-- an underground wrestling persona that is hidden from one's disapproving parental figures who ultimately enter the ring-- foreshadows Pink Diamond's hand in the rebellion against Homeworld, culminating in the stand she took against her fellow Diamonds that was responded to with their Corruption Attack.
Yeah considering the instances of foreshadowing throughout the show, you're not convincing me that's just a coincidence. Even for something as seemingly insignificant as that.
I actually had an idea that Rose could have been pink diamond, I think in season 2 or 3. If you look at the Era 2 symbol of the great diamond authority, each diamond is symbolized as a triangle. If you look at every item that belonged to Rose quartz, from her scabbard to the center of her shield, you will see a pink triangle. Along with pearl's spacesuit, I just assumed that it was kind of obvious.
I'm surprised you didn't mention this one: back in Rose's scabbard, when they were talking about how Rose had a lion, amethyst remarked, "oh, so that's why he's pink!" That was a pretty big one in my opinion. She even called back to it in now we're only falling apart, after the big reveal. "A pink lion, a pink sword, and now pink diamond? If you told me Rose invented cotton candy I'd believe it!"
There’s also the fact that a random quartz has special powers, by gem standards, for seemingly no reason Ps: Steven universe is gravity falls confirmed
I feel like, something that was missed was when Steven is a baby, he finds massive discomfort in having his gem covered, not just because it needs to "breath" as Greg thinks, but because it is actually the rotated pink diamond gem and it's cutting into his tiny body when pressed down by clothing
The pride of lions that Rose was with has three male lions. The fact that Rose's hair resembles a lion's mane and also foreshadowing that she was a pride of diamonds. Steven's fuse with Amethyst is also foreshadowing too. The fact the Smoky has two left hands further supports that Rose/Pink was left handed. Also in one episode Steven calls himself in Spanish, "Esteban Universidad". The Spanish word for Rose is, "Rosa" which is also the Spanish word for "Pink".
Top ten hints that Rose was pink diamond: 10. The mural in serious steven that depicted rose holding a pink diamond, which I believe started the whole 'rose is pink diamond' theory. If it wasn't my apologies, if it was, shame on you for not mentioning it! 9. In the extended new opening, when pearl says to steven 'we will protect your earth, and we will protect your earth'. that repetition always struck me as odd, but it makes sense when we learn that Rose was Pink diamond, as PEarl was referring to steven how the planet is 'your earth' ie the place that you're from as well as the planet that technically belongs to him. 8. batman references. Aside from the one you mentioned we also saw from Rose's room Steven going down a pole to get to the burning room, which reminded me of the poles bruce and dick used in the batman series to become batman and robin. 7. pink diamonds. I always wondered if there was a point to the diamonds we see in the background, and wonder if the pink diamonds we see were foreshadowing, but one in particular was in the episode 'we need to talk' when Greg says 'I barely know you' and Rose replies 'that's a good thing', there's a pink diamond in her hair, and when we cut back to the scene it's gone. 6. Rose and Pearl's relationship. I know you've already mentioned this, but the moment in particular I found interesting was in rose's scabbard, the way pearl was kneeling behind rose, the way she looked up when addressed, how Rose tried to assure her she didn't have to join her even though Pearl wanted to. The body language and language itself suggested they were master and servant, which didn't seem that odd at the time as I thought rose might have been a highly regarded soldier who was awarded a pearl before she turned traitor but the more we learnt (Especially in your mother and mine) it seemed odd that rose would even have a pearl. 5. Rose's physical form. It seemed odd that Rose did not have the more masculine like voices we saw other quartzes had (excluding 'off colors'), and we've seen that whereas gems can change their forms their voices are a different matter and she even seemed taller than an average quartz (which was confirmed when we saw her first take on her quartz size that she was indeed signifcantly taller than the amethysts). 4. Rose's powers. Not only did rose have powers no other quartz had (and some that didn't match up with a common soldier, i.e. making your own plant soldiers), but she didn't even have powers other quartzes were shown to have (ie. the spin dash ability) 3. conflicting information about Rose's homeworld (which you mentioned, but didn't become an issue until bismuth said that rose was made 'right here in the dirt' which contradicted previous mentions that rose was from homeworld.) 2. Jungle moon. Aside from how it was odd that Stevonnie was accessing the memories of a supposed shattered gem, their line 'have I been here before?' 1. The leg ship (which you already mentioned).
Well I also do noticed that it was odd that rose have a very different powers especially since she had healing powers. I mean why would a diamond make a gem with healing powers?
The leg ship could also be regarded as a hot pink limousine, and of course Homeworld would go nuts seeing a Diamond return after supposedly being shattered for over 5000 years
@@nebul1269 I originally thought it could be some new skill she figured out from nothing, but, thinking about it, it'd be very against the "gems have most of their attributes assigned on creation" theme. Even if they weren't told of this power, the sole fact they could develop powers beyond what they were intended to have would be quite contradictory
Honestly, with the flag background, I like the idea that Rose couldn't NOT include a pink diamond in it. Like everytime she tried to design one, she'd just compulsively add diamonds everywhere in a "oops my hand slipped" manner
Everytime they said Rose hates/forsook her "home planet" might also be a clue. Why? Because Garnet said/implied she's made on Earth when telling her story to the off colours. She could not have hated her homeland if her homeland truly is Earth. It's at least a clue something's up and that Rose had lied about something.
Was there any foreshadowing that BLEW your mind?! How about any that we missed?! Let us know in the comments!

I love this also 4th reply yay

Unpopular theory: Pink Diamond didn't bubble Bismuth because she wanted to shatter gems, she did it because Bismuth was the only one besides Pearl who knew that sword couldn't shatter gems. If Bismuth debated it she could have exposed everything.
Dark.
Interesting theory.
That would have been a better story
At the very least, it could be part of the reason Rose never let her out
Probably both tbh
PD Oh yeahhhh. And in Familiar Steven kinda acknowledges how similar he and pink look at least in that Lil drawing
Also when he and ruby were trapped in space ruby points out he looks nothing like her

The quote “If every pork chops were perfect, we wouldn’t have hotdogs”
Saying that if pink diamond was perfect and she committed to her colonisation, we wouldn’t have rose/steven.
Thus the reason rose liked and used the quote when activating her laser light cannon

@@shielalim7990 that he is eating him self in the intro?
Charles Ashley Cruz the same way that Pink ate those fake gem shards and hotdogs are basically shards of hotdogs
Uh, also... Hotdogs are meat put into a new form and put into a bun... i.e. Pink to Rose to Steven!! Humans are like frail bread.
😖 And he is... male...... 😅
🤯 Also, the pork chop bit-- (it's long but there's alot to it)
"...a loin cut taken perpendicular to the spine of the pig and usually containing a rib or part of a vertebra. Pork chops are not processed and are leaner than other cuts of pork."
(i.e. the spine refers to leadership, not processed; perfect as is like a diamond, cut from the spine and retains a vertebrae like Pink retaining leadership as Rose, pigs are pink, and it's a lean cut like skinny Pink Diamond!!) Also, the making of hotdogs/sausages is disgusting, just like Pink Diamond's morally unnerving tail. And hotdogs are made from scraps i.e. she made herself into scraps by shattering herself to live as Rose/Steven.
The hotdog suggests he is a man. Think about it.

The first thing Rebecca wrote for the show was the ending and nothing can convince me otherwise
I think a large piece of foreshadowing to me was the fact that rose had all these special powers like healing, reviving, and having two different weapons, when no other quartz had anything close to that.
Not even Amethyst or Jasper, quartzes, have healing powers.
The sword isn't a summoned weapon (Bismush made it) but I still see your point
Great!
I always felt like that was the most obvious one, like its pretty absurd to think that all of Steven's powers was from a gem of the same rank as Amethyst/Jasper
Also, why was Rose pale skinned if all the other quartzes had the colour of their palette
Late to the party, but a BIG one you missed is that whenever the characters are traveling through one of the portals made by Lion, a certain musical chord plays. This is the same exact one that is used every time another diamond shows up on screen.

And maybe was another reason why she kept Bismuth bubbled because she would've known immediately that something was wrong because she made the sword.
Pink deliberately made bismuth make her a sword that could instantly poof a gem but never shatter one, so when she faked her shattering she wouldn't get shattered in the process

They don’t show the faces/reactions of the others.
this is the least far fetched thing in this entire video and comment section
There are quite a few instances where the foreshadowing is practically rubbed in our faces.
This whole VIDEO was far fetched lol
Animators are so clever honestly.
I mean they have to condense everything into ~24 minutes, and draw every frame. Every shot is carefully decided and defended with reason, so looking back with context like this is so fun

remember the gag from Future Vision when Steven envisions Cookie Cat killing him?
"Cookie Cat you're real? Ah no! I never even considered you'd be evil."
If Cookie Cat is an illusion to Rose Quartz that line takes on a new meaning.

I sincerely hate to do this, but it's allusion, not illusion. Allusion is a literary device that foreshadows or makes a reference to popular media or another main event, while illusion is when something has a deceptive appearance.
However I love the point you made, it's really interesting!!!

Counts since Pink came from homeworld. Also implies that Rose really ISNT from kindergarten when she staged that she did.
Why would pearl be thinking like that?

we not gonna talk about the fact that rose just hAppened to have extra powers that nobody else had, yk, suggesting she's not like the other rose quartz soldiers
yeah and she managed to protect garnet and pearl from a DIAMOND BLAST with ONLY her shield

Also when Steven asked to see his mom in their room, he says “you’re not real, are you” he was referring to the fact that it was only because of the room that he was seeing his mom but it could be interpreted that rose isn’t real
Nothing in that room was real, because the person who supposedly owned it wasn't real either.
"I barely know you."
"That's a good thing."
Also the Rose Quartz gems that were bubbled can be seen from the side view, so we have a clear distinction between Pink's gem and a Rose's gem.
In we need to talk, when rose and pearl fuse, if you listen closely you can faintly hear the diamond theme. Also, in the extended intro, pearl tells Steven "we'll protect *your* earth" quite literally *his* earth

The real question is why does bat man have a giant penny
Two-Face tied him to it and sent it flying aka flipped it to try to crush him to death.
Okay, new question.
Why did Two-face have a giant penny!?!
Realafah - Cause he's obsessed. I mean he's always flipping that coin he has.
The real question is, what was their plan if the penny didn't crush them... Thatd be a very awkward interaction as either two face unties them or he slowly rolls it back to the flipper
So we have bat quartz
In the Its Over Isn't It clue when Pearl says "reinvention " she looks at the flower WHICH IS A ROSE

I thought he was about to reference the pebbles, too.
I like the cut of your gem, the way you think. Also is it funny that whenever I use dictate to try and say gem, it keeps correcting as either Jim or jam?
That is a very good one.

There's also the fact that Steven can use, and sometimes only uses, gem Tech without any to little problem he could even move blue's palanquin.
Right. And that wouldn't be possible without his mother's gem. And THAT wouldn't be possible unless his mother was a.........diamond.
There's a bit more to the Lion thing - In Bubby's book we see her hanging out in the desert which is presumably where she met her feline companions.
What's she got stashed away in the desert? *Her old spaceship. *
So here's why she never mentioned Lion to Pearl: She didn't want to explain that she was doing in the desert/ perhaps felt guilty about returning to some place that had a connection to her old life.
Maybe she's got some pic of herself with the other Diamonds on the hard drive that she could never quite bring herself to delete.
*b U b B y*
Who the fuck is you, Manny?
When pearl says "reinvention" in "Mr Greg", she *looks at the rose in her hand.* This refers to PD reinventing herself as Rose Quartz.
10:08 I went back in time to the exact moment when I watched this scene of Ronaldo rotating that Diamond into his head, that exact moment when I thought, “Why would you position it that way now it looks like a different ge-” AND SLAPPED MYSELF.

Steven: be a giant woman"
Pink: have a colony"
Isn’t in that same rose and Greg scene there some lines where Greg says he wants to get to know the real Rose and rose says he shouldn’t want to or something? I’d say that’s some foreshadowing

In The Answer, when Rose poofs the Ruby fusion, there's two white flashes, followed by a pink cracking one
Rose was able to shapeshift a womb and reproductive system for 9 months straight in order to give birth to Steven. However, Amethyst, the best shapeshifter we know, could only hold a form for a couple hours straight at the most before getting too uncomfortable and tired, even when she took occasional breaks when no one was looking
Alexandrite has a pinkish diamond on her chest
When Steven and Connie are in Rose's room, the room creates the creepy Connie with the white dress and eyepatch who only does what Steven wants until she turns on him. The loop though.
Steven's a big fat meany song when he mentions let's chop it up, chop, chop it up.
During the song "It's over isn't it" Pearl looks right at the rose in her hand as she says "reinvention."
Big brained
That's actually really smart and makes a lot of sense and it also solves why they would've ever started doing forced fusion on gems that they would otherwise not care about

“When I point they look and when I talk they listen.”
This might mean when rose speak up.They listen and believe her to save the planet like if she point somewhere, even it’s just a blank space. They will believe there’s something, so they look.
“Well everybody need a friend and then I got you, and you and you. So many, I can’t even name them. Can you blame me?”
That’s when her army start building up and massive gems agree to join the war.
“I’m too famous.”
Rose message spread across the universe that she’s protecting earth and fighting against herself.
“Hadn’t you notice I’m a star.”
The diamonds think the crystal gems are not a big deal like they hadn’t notice this rebellion is spreading every where on earth and becoming a threat.
“I’m coming to view that’s the world is turning.”
Pink diamond and pearl preparing for the fake shattering like how every going to change and as rose said: Isn’t it going to be exciting?

While saying this last line, he holds up the drawing of the broken Diamond Authority logo (ironically with the open Pink Diamond slot facing him). While Pink wasn't part of the attack, she was the reason it was done in the first place.
Your Mother and Mine:
During the speech between Rose and Pink, there's a stylized background.
We Are The Crystal Gems (extended version):
Pearl's background is composed of diamonds, that partly get covered by the billowing Crystal Gems flag.
I love how much effort you put into this!
@@roarynymeria2773 Thank you! It's really fun to notice things like this and share them with others. :)
@@eaglefan2569 I agree! Before I watched this video I thought about the cookie cat song!
@@PlanetPie070 To be frankly honest, I have absolutely no idea. I don't know why people have subscribed to me when all I do is make the occasional TH-cam comment.
“i like the way human beings play. I LIKE PLAYING ALONG”- rose singing “what can i do for you”
This is old but when Steven and Connie were training and Steven wanted to help Connie instead of Connie fighting alone and getting hurt Pearl said “You shouldnt be anywhere near the fight, you’re too important” same thing for the diamonds, they have soldiers to fight for them
Also pearl slips up and says amethyst is the ONE good thing that came out of the kindergarten implying no other good things came out of the kindergarten (Rose Quartz)
If you thought about it, you never saw another colored quartz
Except amethyst and jasper and all of those bubbled rose quartz.
Amethyst is just purple quartz.
... what? Amethyst is purple, Jaspers are orange, all the bubbled Rose Quartzes were pink
There was that red quartz un the zoo
I get what you mean. Besides all the other bubbles rose quartz we never see another one, not even on home world. And no other pink gems.
Man, I remember saying how the "Rose is Pink Diamond" theory was ridiculous...
8:58 Steven's face is literally framed in a diamond because of the mirror cracks
How the heck did you see that
It took me a good ten seconds to see what you meant. 😂
Riskier Daisy lol the video resolution needs to be 720p or 1080p to see it clearly. I just had to double check myself because I didn’t see it at first when my resolution was 480p.
@@_niyabella it waa good find!!!
that is what i thought when i saw it too
i had a theory about "Haven't You Noticed (I'm A Star)" being the origins of the diamonds! my theory is that the song title foreshadows the diamonds origins, that they were made from stars. hence white diamond calling pink diamond "starlight". the song also foreshadowed white diamond's mind control: "I got a pair of eyes that they're getting lost in; I hypnotize by the way I'm walking"
2:30 cookie cat’s bag has a diamond pattern
Good call
Oh yeah...but that might just be the packaging it's in
@@espressodeppresso8915 WEird to have a diamond there though, they could have put any pattern but they chose that one
Yeah considering the instances of foreshadowing throughout the show, you're not convincing me that's just a coincidence. Even for something as seemingly insignificant as that.
@@genomerc how is it WEird to have a daimond there
I actually had an idea that Rose could have been pink diamond, I think in season 2 or 3.
SU Fans: *Rose Quartz isn’t pink diamond*
Rebecca: *Hold my diamond*
There were countless Rose Quartz is Pink Diamond theories throughout the shows run
I will hold da diamond
I'm surprised you didn't mention this one: back in Rose's scabbard, when they were talking about how Rose had a lion, amethyst remarked, "oh, so that's why he's pink!"
That was a pretty big one in my opinion. She even called back to it in now we're only falling apart, after the big reveal.
"A pink lion, a pink sword, and now pink diamond? If you told me Rose invented cotton candy I'd believe it!"
There’s also the fact that a random quartz has special powers, by gem standards, for seemingly no reason
Ps:
Steven universe is gravity falls confirmed
So glad this exists. Was getting real sick of people saying the crew "stole" the idea from fans. Jesus.

Top ten hints that Rose was pink diamond:
Not only did rose have powers no other quartz had (and some that didn't match up with a common soldier, i.e. making your own plant soldiers), but she didn't even have powers other quartzes were shown to have (ie. the spin dash ability)
3. conflicting information about Rose's homeworld (which you mentioned, but didn't become an issue until bismuth said that rose was made 'right here in the dirt' which contradicted previous mentions that rose was from homeworld.)
2. Jungle moon. Aside from how it was odd that Stevonnie was accessing the memories of a supposed shattered gem, their line 'have I been here before?'
GOD THE PEEDE ONE GOT ME LIKEEEE WOW
Honestly, with the flag background, I like the idea that Rose couldn't NOT include a pink diamond in it. Like everytime she tried to design one, she'd just compulsively add diamonds everywhere in a "oops my hand slipped" manner
Everytime they said Rose hates/forsook her "home planet" might also be a clue.
Why? Because Garnet said/implied she's made on Earth when telling her story to the off colours.
She could not have hated her homeland if her homeland truly is Earth. It's at least a clue something's up and that Rose had lied about something.
