I ordered a 2300KT from the Crosman Custom Shop. Their prices are very reasonable. Much better to order a complete gun from them than to add all the modifications yourself. The only downside is that it will take two or three weeks to get, but you get free engraving on the gun.
@Alloutdoor1 well I'm not sure about the 88g, but on a tour of the Grossman plant years ago, one of the technicians pointed out the fact that the process of making 12g cartridges left behind quite a bit of dirt and metal shavings could also be in the cartridge from the dye cut tips on the cartridges. It was amazing to see the piece of flat steel become a tube!
Good review as usual. One suggestion that might help until you get the new scope mount, try putting some thread locker on your allen screws, or even some nail polish will do. Also 12g Co2 is really dirty, so make sure to oil the O ring in the gun before a day of shooting to keep the seal as healthy as possible. Hope all is well my friend.
@Alloutdoor1 I used to own one a few years ago but found the power drop annoying after 30 or so shots and gave it to a friend to use. It was very accurate. I still shoot air rifles and also higher powered rimfire rifles too. The humble air rifle in the right hands can be a sure game getter. Sandy
@Alloutdoor1 There is a small amount of liquid co2 that is hitting the seal, you want the seals to remain as lubricated as possible, to avoid cracking. When the cold co2 hits a dry seal it can cause fractures in the seal if its not kept lubricated. Also if there are any particles in the cartridge they will pass more smoothly by the oring if it is lubricated, its no guarantee that it wont damage the seal, but its always better to be safe then sorry.
The total cost is about £50. Changing the parts is fairly easy. I recorded the whole process so I could see which part goes where when I put it back together.Cheers.
Thanks for the useful info mate. I wanted to replace the stock and put on 2240 pistol grip. That would give me a powerful pistol above the UK limit of 6 fpe. I'm abroad so not bothered about the law :)
if you did not buy one yet.yes its a good gun with the steel breach mod.some power mods you can hit 515fps 3 or 4 times on a co2 thats 22cal. many power mods and bulk fill mods can be had for this gun.Get the custom shop and go from there my self i went with a 1322 super modded pumper.it always shoots over 530 to 570 with 13 pumps 20 pumps puts me in the low 600s that kills shit dead!
It may have a removable stock but it is only classed as a pistol when the barrel is below the rifle length of barrel. The 2250 has a rifle length barrel and the stock classes it as a rifle. The 2240 has a pistol length barrel and is classed as a pistol even with the stock attached.
There is no UK legal definition for an air pistol vs air rifle. The closest thing is legislation that describes a long gun as having a minimum of 30cm barrel and being 60cm overall but that specifically exempts "air weapons". Legislation does stipulate a maximum of 6ft/lbs for air pistols and 12ft/lbs for air rifles but doesn't actually describe the difference. There are also commercially made air rifles with barrels less than 30cm but I have yet to see any that are less than 60cm overall. This suggests the latter half of the legislation is unofficially adhered to by airgun manufactures (albeit legally exempt).
thx verry much thats what i needed to know i did not know how to use the co2 box but i still dont know how hard it shoots like fps cause i bought this verry cheap for 20 dollars it still works but when i looked it up it says it costed 150 dollar plus scope and customization doese anybody know how hard it shoots like fps?
Unfortunately, I only got it up to 10.5lbft - 11lbft. I get approx 12-18 good shots if it's not too cold out. To be honest, it's probably a better idea to save the money and buy a full powered CO2. Saying that though, I did increase the range by about 15 meters.
The mounts on this gun are truly awful but you can stop them moving from side to side by placing a 1mm plastic shim under the barrel and seat the mounts on top. Be careful of the mounting screws as they strip very easily even with the correct allen key.The stock has a habit of coming loose, as does the forestock. If you don't want a springer you would be better off with a webley rebel multi pump for much cheaper. If you don't mind a piston why not go for the BSA meteor mk 7 or maybe something from gamo such as the Whisper IGT gas ram.. The only saving grace for the ratcatcher is its ridiculous lightness but that is because it is so flimsy.. You can get much better for the money elsewhere. Don't worry about not getting a scope with my recommendations because you really don't need a scope at the distances you could accurately hit anything with the ratcatcher.
Agreed. Open sites are pretty much all this rifle needs considering its accuracy at longer distances. I like the light weight aspect of it. Thanks for watching and the good tips.
Damn Crosman company, they can't mount Steel breech kit for scope in stock C.2250B?! OMG why?! I pay for this sub pistol about 136 dollars in new condition and now i must buy this kit for 54.45 dollars in Poland! This is crazy!!! I'm unhappy custommer of first crosman air gun. Sorry for my bad language im from Poland and writing without translator.
it is not a weapon! it is a pest control tool or sporting equipment. or just use the term rifle or pistol. using the term weapon is why law after law is slowly choking shooting sports

Use removable thread lock (red bottle) on the screws. That will keep the scope mount screws in place.

Nice review Alex.
You picked up all the pro's and con's of this little gun.

Hi Alex, how many shots do you get from 1 cylinder of gas and how much do you pick the gas up for?
Why is everyone bashing the original scope? It's very very good for the price. It's even quite clear.
Once you've loaded the co2 how long will it last of not in use ?
The quality is variable to say the least.
@Skragg101 Time to get the silicone seal lube out! Thanks for making me aware of this potential problem. Nice one!
It depends. What do you want to use it for ?
cheers, did you manage to reach 12 ft/lbs?
how does the power increase effect shot count?
@g0vqw Hello Sandy. Hope you are well. Have you had a little go with one or do you own it?
does this gun not come with 11mm dovetail mounts?
@Skragg101 Hello skragg, thanks for the tips. Do you mean that 88g co2 is cleaner?
@Skragg101 Aha. Ok. so i guess the particulate could have a detrimental effect on the seals?
hi what scope is that your using?
Thanks for the useful info mate.

@g0vqw Good to have my analysis confirmed, thanks.
@MrNishi No worries mate. Hope youre well!

@TheJebus88 Chiquitilla does not mean father !?
@Robert31352 red thread lock is the strong, non-removable type.
did you manage to get it up 12 ft/lbs?
how much did the mods cost you?

Teflon tape around the scope mount screws
Good tip if you're using the stock scope, cheers.

It's accurate with enough power per shot up to about 20/25 yards, after that it's a little weak. Good rifle though.
