    you shoot ball bearings through that, you're gonna ruin the rifling.

    I have a Crosman ratter and the first thing I would advise is to get a metal breech, it is a doddle to fit and it improves the rifle a lot.
    I also have a Crosman pistol, the 2240, which I also converted with the steel breech, I also recently updated the pistol with a rifle butt and put a laser dot sight on it.
    I also put the box magazine on the rifle and it works just fine.

    As per previous, get some local honey for your hay fever, works for me. please do not shoot ball baring you WILL knacker your barrel. These are so easy to to take apart and modify. I have found them to be very accurate it just needs to be held in a different way to normal rifles. Nice review

    Ace review Lewis, enjoyed that. Dunno if theyre still in business but there was a good uk based source for upgrading parts for these, they were called custompartsuk or something. I'll find out for defo when I get home this weekend and drop you a message. Puckmeharder is the man to talk to about these. Co2 works great in the Summer but in the cold it loses its oomph. Brill fun though, and whatever anyone says you can hunt with them. I know 'cos I've got one lol. Nice one Lewis.

      Sorry about the late reply, cheers for the link. I'm still going to get round to upgrading the rat catcher. It's definitely got loads of potential.

    Would this kill a fox ? And also how long does the co2 last once popped in and not used

    • @MilitaryHistory2011

      I've had c02 in guns for years and it's still been good to go. As for a fox? absolutely not. You'd want .22lr for that minimum

    Where do I get one at

  • @simonsignolet5632

    I got only 25 shots (.22") from my brand new one, in summer, with plenty of pausing for the capsule to recover. Of this, I'd say only the first 20 shots were suitable for ratting. No hissing heard, capsule nipple greased before loading.
    Out of the box, the iron sights were a massive fail, the scope mount a fail, scope a complete fail, too. I suspect that the shop must have put the defective parts of other stock into one box. Perhaps that's being too kind.
    Butt too long for the average person, trigger spongey and substandard. Needs basic tuning, it just blasts out pellets with too much gas loss. Overall, a piece of over-priced junk.
    I've had it for YEARS now and have only ever put ONE capsule in it (a waste of a good capsule). There's so much better for the money. It's partially modded now, a work in progress. One day, I might bother with it but I'm in no hurry 'cause I have a small Umarex collection.

    I am from Liverpool and I am not sure were to buy air rifles

    • @MilitaryHistory2011
      @MilitaryHistory2011  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      There is a local shop on Utting Avenue called Taskers Angling. They have quite a few rifles, pistols and some archery gear.

      If you ever go there to buy something then you'll need to bring two forms of identification for the first time If I remember correctly. Usually a bank statement, drivers license or passport. If you are under 18 then you can get your parents to come along and have them use their I.D

    If I need a cheap rifle I would buy a Chinese rifle for simply price if not cheaper. Unless I insisted the rifle must be American made.

    Sell all those shitty Co2 guns you have and save up and by a decent PCP or springer and you will thank me for it, trust me your wasting your money with those things.....

    • @MilitaryHistory2011
      @MilitaryHistory2011  10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I've never really liked PCP rifles to be honest. Besides, I only really shoot in my back garden these days so forking out a lot of money for a premium quality rifle would be a bit of a waste in my opinion. I'd probably consider one if I did longer range shooting.

      Have you ever thought of the HW 30. Very good quality air rifle. Power out put would probably be ok for back garden use . It's a break barrel so has consistent shots and no CO2 cartridges.
      Sell for about £200 without scope but the open sites are excellent.
