    My jaw hit the floor when you said “after great gigs go to your history folder”. I’ve been djing with computers for over a decade and I don’t understand how I never thought to do that. Great video! Thank you for all that you do!

    Love Lexicon, never though about doing the SD card with multiple libraries... super dope idea...

    Because I DJ at about 225 to 300 gigs per year, that crate would be huge for me - even if broken down by weddings / Clubs / Private events, so, after every weekend I go thru my played crates, review them for songs I should add to crates I regularly use, and keep adding to the crates of bangers.
    Using Rekordbox, All my macs are synced with Dropbox which includes cue points, etc, however as back up, I always have one flash drive of bangers with me - so I Can drop in on a club with CDJ's, etc, and I have 2 redundant hard drives for each laptop as well, which sync as soon as I plug them in and start Rekordbox.

    100% I drag my history from Traktor to an iTunes folder for each year, remove duplicates , then sync those to djplayerpro on my iPad. It's a great backup but also serves as a handy reference for tunes banged out over the past years. Definitely going to check out Lexicon DJ. Thanks for the great tips and your constant enthusiasm :-)

    This guy is a genius. Used to follow Barr, Rick Webb, Cleveland Terry, few others - but Jani has them all beat. Such useful information that you can't get anywhere else. Props to you for all these amazing tips and insights. Hopefully one day you post some more Gig Logs.

      I don't see them as competing. They're all great DJs in their own way!

    Hi Jason when you have taken out the duplicates from the master folder are you left with just the MP3s or are you left with the MP3s and the historic playlist they came from ? Eg M&Js Wedding playlist which has all the tracks within it?

      I get rid of the history folders.

      @@Jason_Jani are you able to recall a specific event or wedding tho within that folder

      @Jason_Jani  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@djtommyelliott8238 no i am not, but you can add a note to the tags of the music if you need that. i honestly erase the crutches at the start of every year so i am forced to think, and everything is there in the folder.

    That was a lot faster. I'm gonna have to watch a few times to grab all of it. That's way past what I do. But the backup is sooo vital

      Maybe I will release it one day, but for now you can sign up for crate hackers and my Jani VIP crates released often there.

    Way too many steps. Use cloud storage or external drive
