Hey Nick what external hard drive do you recommend for use with Mac. Is the Samsung SSD any good? If so, which one should I purchase. I would like at least 2 TB
I’m not even upset my computer has more horsepower than any Mac could dream of having 😅 macs are good though they’re well built I just prefer custom builds sort of 😳🙊
Great Advice! You should make a video about having a cable bag with extra redundant cables and adapter configurations. I know DJ's that do gigs with just the cables that are in use. If one goes bad or if an unexpected audio source is needed, they're lost. I have a large cable bag that is my lifeline with male cables, female cables, and even bisexual cables. LOL! Jokes aside, I have all types of configurations in that bag like: XLR to 3.5 TRS. I have extra USB's, IEC power cables, Speakon connectors, and the list goes on! It seems like a NO-Brainer, but some of the new-gen DJ's don't grasp the concept of being prepared for anything! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing the knowledge!!!! You Rock Dude!!!! The old saying goes "Two is one and one is none." I had a shure microphone clip that holds the mic on the stand break at the seam a couple minutes before ceremony this past weekend and thank God I had 4 extra ones lol.
Great video!! Forgot my shirt a couple weeks ago. I was lucky af another DJ buddy was attending the wedding as a guest and I called him to bring me a shirt. I was SOL otherwise! As far as music aside from my master backup I’ll usually create a folder in my HD for the specific event I’m DJ’ing and copy the music I prepared there for quick access should shit hit the fan. Lol
We've gone through a talk about EQUIPMENT BACKUP....but what about you? If you book weddings and events a year or two ahead and you unfortunately get killed in an accident or stumble on to an illness. Do you have a backup for your clients? It may be even worse for single ops whose spouse or family do not know about your business. ( i usually do not book further than 8 months for fear I may be dead, you never know) A friend of mine's wife died in October from a specific lung cancer. She was OK 3 months ago and it destroyed her lungs in 3 short months .....Your thoughts.
that venue's wireless was not a shit one they were on the 44MHZ band the same as your Shure, usually shit ones are on the 2.4mhz. To avoid this in the future try a 900mhz. In this scenario its funny if you used like a gemini wireless mic on the 2.4Ghz it would have not gotten any interference.

My Windows laptop lasts since 2016 and is faster than the 2016 MacBook I use for dayjob (which is getting replaced because I can't do my work because it's so fucking slow)... My Windows desktop is from 2014 and still plays recent games in decent settings. But yeah, I hate Apple. I'm typing this from a 2016 MacBook Pro.
If ever you're without a mic (because nothing works), you can always use your back-up headphones, wired into a 1/4" input, and speak into the cup... Not the prettiest solution, but it can get the job done.
Literally just happened to me this past weekend. Had ceremony out in 90 degree weather with the sun beaming down on my laptop. It overheated and my music started stuttering. Whipped out the backup laptop out of my cool backpack and the show went on. Back up #6-Gurl, back that azz up!! 😂Thanks Nick!!
It happened....a friend did not hire me for her daughter's wedding because her daughter wanted someone else...I was fine with it. But after the wedding she called me and told me she really wished they would have picked me because their DJ literally had a heartattack after introductions and died. I thought she was joking but their wedding was ruined. 😵

All good but avoid using the T7 Touch for performance. T5 for regular use, T7 for backup. Works 4 me
