    I love this organ, and seeing it's depth and soul coming back to life never ceases to amaze me! The 32's, the harmonious Choir division. All it's percussions just wow! It's really great to know this masterpiece is now in yours and others craftsman hands who really care about it and are sharing with us along the way gives me goosebumps!

    The various pedal stops in combination with each other really sound better than they do individually.

    I thought we missed the Bombarde 32’ in the last video! Thanks for playing all of the 32’ stops. When the organ is fully restored, I think the Inaugural Concert should be Saint-Saens’ Organ Symphony or Mahler’s Resurrection Symphony.

    From what I can hear over earphones, it does seem the 128' resultant effect is hard to hear. As for all the 32' stops played together, I think the diaphone gets more prominent in the lower end of the compass; the flue stops are all but drowned out.

    I've really enjoyed seeing your technical explanations and demos of how the organ works! What is the small control panel above the sheet music (above your head from this camera angle)? It has two circular cutouts, and seems like an important thing since it's high up and front-and-center.

    Well cracks me up about that 64 foot all it sounds like is a bunch of beating you know like a mallad hitting the side of the wood even out in the auditorium I don’t see how to be a low C

    • @CeruleanFilms
      @CeruleanFilms ปีที่แล้ว

      The actual tone of the 64' stop cannot be picked up by a microphone or reproduced by a speaker - it's too low. It's felt rather than heard.
      What you're hearing is the only thing the microphone can pick up, which is the sound of the mechanism.

    I’m amazed how much softer the Bombard is than the Diaphone. It could be a matter of perspective but the Bombardon on lower wind in the right seemed quite a bit bolder than both still. Is that an accurate assessment sitting in the room?

    Ein Fach super die Riesen Bass Pfeifen. 7 Manuale und Pedal die vielen Register an der Tastatur und Pedal der blanke Wahnsinn. Hier in Deutschland steht die größte Orgel der Welt im Passauer Dom in Bayern. Aber solche Orgel wie in dieser Amerikanischen Arena steht Wahnsinn man die muss ja riesen groß sein wo Du da drinnen warst in dieser Orgel. Wieviel Pfeifen hat diese Orgel wenn ich fragen darf würde Mich mal interessieren so ein Riesen Teil. In Passau die größte Orgel der Welt hat kann es nicht genau sagen globe bis zu 87885 Pfeifen ist so über den Daumen gepeilt. De höchste Pfeife 12 m hoch ca. Hat 5 Manuale zich hundert Register war. Und vors Pedal auch. Aber mit 7 Manuale noch nie gesehen war. Diese Orgel in der Arena ja muss doch überall verbreitet sein oder? "So was ist der hammer ehrlich gesagt. Wünsche Dir noch ein Gesundes Neues Jahr mache weiter so mit Kommentare von der Orgel von der Arena. Vorallem viel Gesundheit.

    I love the look of the console don’t get me wrong but it’s outdated now - just like the notre damn organ console before it was redone - they need a more modern console too here - the original should be a show piece but it’s outdated too much

    • @cnagorka
      @cnagorka  ปีที่แล้ว

      Have to disagree with you on that one- the console here is fine, I mean, what could you do to update it? And the current Notre Dame console looks atrocious in that setting IMHO. I'd like to see them install a french curved terrace console.

      It’s definitely an Art Deco masterpiece, but as a former organist, it doesn’t look very user-friendly.

    • @cnagorka

    I have to wonder, how much does it cost to run the blowers?

  • @charleslayton9463
    @charleslayton9463 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love it love it love it! Question: was this video recorded before or after the recent tuning of the 64? Likewise with the 32's, I think some of the "racket" might be slight variations in tuning -- which is entirely understandable. It would be like alchemy to get all of them beating at exactly the same rate (pitch 😅). I just watched your vid on the massive number of switches and relays for doing odds and ends. Makes me wonder if the crescendo pedals and "reverse swell shades" are functioning currently.
    All the work is really showing up in the recitals. She is becoming the musical instrument that Sen. Richards envisioned. Great thanks to you and all who are working on her!

    • @charleslayton9463
      @charleslayton9463 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, that reminds me of another question I've always had: When attempting to create these resultant pitches, do the different pipes "lock in" naturally? I would think that at the super-low end, it would be entirely possible that the 42 and 64 might beat at odds with each other, canceling out, rather than enhancing the 128' beats.

    • @cnagorka
      @cnagorka  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After the tuning, I believe. You have to remember that even though they are pretty well in tune, the "tonal" (if I can call a 64' "tonal") quality of the pipes still varies quite a bit and some still have a rattle-y quality to them. The crescendo pedals and the reverse acting shade controls aren't hooked up yet. And the flue pipes can "lock" in fairly well with each other but the diaphones not so much, resultants don't happen as well with reed tones as with flues, in general.
