I’d seriously do anything to have this guy as my professor. You are the reason I passed algebra AND trig in my past two semesters!! It’s calculus time!!
Look or listen to the comments!! These were true 50 years ago for me. So many people could have become so much more. You and a few others are helping some to not be failures. Thank you sir for being there. Gretch
Dear Mr. Brian, I would like to thank you first for your extraordinary explanation of mathematics! I'm really facing hard times solving this problem; i checked your channel for help but didn't find relevant one, so here it is: solve the equation e^2x = 2^x−4 Many thanks ❤️
You are the best man. Currently taking a pre calc summer course to get ahead during the pandemic and the videos they supply are so confusing and ambiguous. I used to use your videos as a fallback if I didn't understand those but now I just go straight to you. Appreciate what you're doing keep it up!
One thing I did to teach my brother one to one for his Algebra 2 class is I gave him a problem like this 2^2x+4=2^x+3 To demonstrate why we can easily drop the base (2x+4)log2=(x+3)log2 Then we divided out log2 and got 2x+4=x-3 Did some basic algebra and got x=7.
Thank you so much for teaching this subject! This will be on my quiz tomorrow, and I hope I pass. Your explanation is wonderful. I am happy I found this channel at the right time!
i really like your lessons you cut straight to the point and your students being present during the video kind of makes the lesson feel more realistically paced for how fast a noob's brain would take to process the information it's like we're in class with you lol
How would you solve it if everything else stayed the same but the base of 3 was another base so you can’t make the 2 side have the same base? How would you solve it if it was like that
2:35 he said it incorrectly, it’s supposed to be three *to the power* of 3x + 3, not three times 3x + 3. Because the viewer might mistaken it to be multiplication rather than powers.
what happens if the number is not a perfect square such as 10? Also what happens if there is no way to get the same base? for example (-1/-60)^-7x=10^(16x-27) is the question i need help with.

I wish this guy was my maths teacher. You are the reason I will pass my exam!🙏🏻thank tou
you got this Aimee! happy to be able to help you out!

You are amazingly patient, and extremely helpful. You remind me of my professor, and it's just like I have him home with me. Thank you!!!
happy to be there for you
you are the best teacher that teache's math you are incradible
Great job in explaining the steps. Thank you!
When students applaud like they did at the end you get your reward as a teacher. You know you did your job well.

I tried it and it's a pretty tough question, but basically you take the natural log on both sides and do some stupid stuff until you get the answer...
Hey! There is a Symbolab Calculator that can help you out! It shows all the steps, and I think it can help you!
If you were my high school instructor I would learned so much more and could have become a rocket scientist.

I really like your lessons you’ve cleared all my doubts and I make less mistakes now. Full on respect.
cheers Alejandro! happy to be able to help you out!
i literally come to all of your videos for clarification. thank you so much omg!! 😭
you are very welcome!
i made a 94 😭😍

How are you suppose to know to subtract -3x?
Five seconds in: "A lot of students will forget umm...basically how do you solve..."
me 2 years after the class trying to place into college classes
I wish for having a teacher like you in my school............
I have been searching for this 6 months THANK YOU!
you are very welcome!
Excellent , what a intelligent Explane
thank you so much for the clearing up everything
you are very welcome!
you're a lifesaver man appreciate your effort!!
this guy is seriously good at teaching, thanks!
Thanks for the help on my homework 8 years later.
7 years later and we're still here.Thank you sir this seems easier than i thought
what do you do if the base is 7 on one side and on the other its 4
Im 15 and solved this in 20 seconds in my head. How old are these students and where are they from?
You shouldn’t be here then
How can we solve when there is + or - sign between 2 terms
Thank you so much for teaching this subject! This will be on my quiz tomorrow, and I hope I pass. Your explanation is wonderful. I am happy I found this channel at the right time!
Verry informative and useful
Mr. McLogan, you are a great exponent of ...exponents (no pun intended). Thank you.
haha cheers!
I'm sure it was intended...
Aw rite, I admit it--it was intended, ha ha ha.
I KNEW IT!!!
I like expunents, I mean exponents.
i really like your lessons you cut straight to the point and your students being present during the video kind of makes the lesson feel more realistically paced for how fast a noob's brain would take to process the information it's like we're in class with you lol
Excellent thanks.
is this a pre calc class?
Last minute cramming for my final. Your vids are a godsend
I had to teach myself precalc this semester 😵
alright, but instead of 9 and 3 as bases, what if we hade 5 and 3 for ex? 9 can easily be converted to 3^2 (what about 5 and 3)? kindly suggest sir.
I really wish I had a maths teacher like you
What are we going to if they have different bases?
better than my school math teacher...thank you so much

Two exponents with the same base equal to another their powers are also equal to each other.
not sure what you are promoting
Hi, question 😭 why do you have to subtract -3 on both sides?
Property of equality
You are the reason i'm understanding this, thank you so much
bro is definitely on my top 5 favourite bald guys list
Thank you so much Mr. McLogan
brooooooo
Thank u sooooo much
GOated maths teacher
Great explanation and teaching method
Dude! You rock! I'm checking my kid's AP Algebra 2 HW and you just distill this stuff so well... Thanks! This is what technology is for.
Appreciate the mention of common mistakes this helps very much, because we learn from what is a common mistake...
its a wonderful video !!! just what i needed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
awesome! happy to help!
Exponents test coming up, thanks for the video
you are very welcome!
They can be written as the same base. Try 2^x= 3^(x-1)-1
9^2x-1= 3^3x+3 = 3^2(2x-1)=3^3x+3 4x-2=3x+3 , Answer x=5
substituting 5 in original equation gives 9^9=3^18 , 387,420,489 = 387,420,489
Easily understandable
Excellent
Thanks soon much. But what if the base has the variable. Teaching is very clear.Big ups
can i ask? you subtracted both sides by -3x to? to remove the value of x? did you add 2 on both sides to get the value of x?
yes you want to use inverse operations to isolate the x
Awesome 👍👍
🙂Your concept was really interesting... I hated this topic before watching ur video... Thank you sir... Ur really a good maths teacher. 🙂
realizing these kids in class are like 21 now and not my same age
Thanks so much!
You're welcome!
What happens if the two numbers don't have a common base?
Gotta make them or use logs
this is so great mate!! TYSM wish he was my math teacher
love your videos. If im lost with something i seach for the topic and hope your videos come up.
1000th viewer, thanks for the help!
awesome! happy to help
Thank you
You are welcome!
Very good 👍
Thanks so much this helped a lot
where is the two different bases in that video?
In the end, Where did the +2 come from?
Nvm. i understand now
ENJOY YOUR VIDEOS!
happy to help
I have a question
what happens if the number is not a perfect square such as 10? Also what happens if there is no way to get the same base? for example (-1/-60)^-7x=10^(16x-27) is the question i need help with.
if the base cannot be written as a power so you can apply the one-to-one property then you will need to use a calculator and logarithms
ok thanks for your help, I love your videos by the way!
cheers happy to help Eiken!
i knew he was a great math teacher when i saw the bald head! hope youre still teaching and doing well mr logan
Perfect video..thank you!
you are very welcome!
4^x + 2^2x-3 = 9/8
nice teacher I understand form Tanzania
awesome! happy to be able to help Grace
Sir thank u so much, can you please help mr solve this too
5^2x -1 - (25)^x-1 = 2500
Good stuff.
thanks!
last move was fucking cool 👍🏻😂
11^3x = 5^x+5; how do u solve for x then it would be no solution???
3^2(2x-1)=3^3x+3
2(2x-1)=3x+3
4x-2=3x+3
4x-3x=3+2
x=5
Wrong

This man is talking gibberish to me I cannot understand this lesson of math at all. Algebra 1 imma have to repeat it and I will cry
Why did he have to divide it with -3? Why not just use 3? Same question for the next step.. Why add positive 2 instead of -2? Please help
Better to understand
Mac lethal of maths
Okkaaay but what if you have to use logarithms since the bases don’t equal. ex.) 3^(x+1)=4^(2x)
I wish you were my teacher
I just enjoy helping others.
like if you just looked at the dude hair the whole time
haha good horseshoe going on there
Using this for a discrete math course 😂😭 I forgot all my algebra. To be fair, it's been 7 years. But I took calculus 3 two years ago!
But for the (x) for 3 to the second power equals to 3, x, couldn’t it be 1 ??
yes and 1 times 3x is just 3x
Brian McLogan ok✔️
cheers!
better than my teacher corona has got me stupid
ur a 🐐✨
This is nice but u cant make every every base equal. I hate when youtube videos do shortcuts like this
I think this can be more easily solved by logarithms
AFTER SOLVING WE GET X=5
If you were my teacher , i wouldnt waste my time on finding things help on youtube (math) anymore xD
happy to be able to help, no worries my students do it too
Yeah like u were a boss
why did he add 2 at the end?
3^2=9
Can I please have you as my teacher
Sorry he is already booked.
