- Stan Love was an All American collegiate basketball player with a four year professional basketball career, but today his most famous basketball legacy is being the father of 5 time NBA all-star forward Kevin Love. When I met Stan in 1975 he was a member of the LA Lakers, but even back then he wasn’t the most famous member of the Love family, that honor went to his brother Mike, lead singer with the Beach Boys. I got Stan & Mike and the rest of the musical Love family together for this story in ’75 about Basketball & Beach Boys.

Even here Mike didn’t have the nicest words for Stan. Maybe I read too much into that but it’s hard not to given what’s known abt Mike.

@@markmiller489 i cant remember which Wilson it was but one if them led Charles Manson to believe that he would help him get a musuc deal.He didnt get him a deal but the Beach Boys stole Mansons song and recorded it without Mansons consent. We all know what a piece of trash Manson was but he did9 deserve thst treatment

@@rocknroll7065 To be fair, they actually offered Manson a contract; but he requested a motorcycle instead. So they gave him a motorcycle as compensation for his song. It's "Never Learn Not To Love" from 20/20.
