I started down the same path and thought I would see if anyone had a video on the topic. Thank you. This is just what I needed to see and thank you for the .step files. This will save me a ton of time and filament prototyping a solution. You did a great job!
The brackets fit perfectly! That's why I was excited to find your video. So much less to design. The bar's inside is to narrow for my strip lights so I changed that. Again, thank you for .step files! I just have to figure out how I want to modify the center screws holes for the bar since they will end up hitting the light strip in their current position.I switched over to a 2020 T-Slot print but had trouble printing it vertically. I figure out how to fix that (use a different build plate) but then decided I like your bar much better for this project anyway. :) I love designing stuff! Thanks again.
Mate, thank you so much from Australia. I bought the 3 SE recently, with the Smart kit... Light was needed and I came across your video. Thank you for the effort of making this video sharing your idea. I printed all the parts, bought the same light strip and connected it all up... very cool. I even used the LED top profile and added a shorter version of it to the camera bracket (thingiverse 6574108) that is freely available (simply in Tinkercad). Now i have light coming directly from beside, slightly behind the camera as well, lighting up the hot-end (less shadow). Again, thank you so much.
Love it, would you please upload the STLs because I have literally everything else to do this already on hand? Also would it work with the filament runout sensor installed?
Nice Tool reference. I still have my SE still sitting in the box and didn’t even realize the damn thing doesn’t have a light bar. Thank you for making this video as I will be making this.
@@TheFeralEngineer I was just scrolling through your Shorts just now and read that you were in one. Having said that, ever heard of the band Kolm? Wait, you cover Tool do you also do any APC covers?
Nice work, should of found this earlier, I actually bought the Creality light, but it was a mongrel to fit, my top gantry rail never had any cutouts in it so I had to cut all that so I could neatly hid the wires.
@@armandohernandez6634 the one I'm using is 24v. You can use 5v but the wiring will be different. If you watch my GPIO but were afraid to ask video, I break down some of the GPIO pins on the board. If you just tap into the 5v and ground pins, you can use 5v lighting without the need for the relay. I'm just not sure if you'll be able to toggle the pin without installing Klipper
For the soldering I think you might have made cold solder joints. You have to heat up the wire and the pad at the same time to bond the metal together metallurgically. You never want to paint on solder or just touch a hot part to a cold one. Also your solder's probably expired which might compromise the flux and you need good flux for a good joint. Otherwise, great mod!
Does this help the Nebula Cam not going into night mode? I use an external lamp, but it actually keeps going into night mode if light is not exactly where it wants haha!

It should, but I haven't tested it.

I'm glad someone caught that 😆
FYI, I'm also the singer in a Tool tribute band 😉

Nice! I ended up turning my Neptune 3 into a bottle to filament maker, works pretty well
