An awesome version of an unheard classic. Love it when Chuck gets the young lady to join him on his mic. Thank you Chuck Prophet n' greetings from England
I was just listening to Smokestack Lightning from the Green on Red album No Free Lunch and thinking how much they reminded me of the Flaming Groovies when TH-cam recommended this!
Lost count of all the remakes of this song. I hope the Groovies are getting a piece of the action. I have always loved this song. This is really faithful to the Groovies version.😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀♥️🍀🍀💞💞💞💞💞💞💕💕💕💕💕💕💜💜💜💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙💜💙👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾
This takes me back to my mid- to late-teens in the 1970s to Monday nights at The Railway pub in Harrow (London) where local band the Bozos used to do a great version. (They were a lot more relaxed about checking your age back then.)
I was there when Chuck showed the guys the chord changes for this. Roy Loney was coming by to sit in that night and this was one of his old band's tunes. Turned out to be a real crowd pleaser, so they occasionally pull it out for us. That's "Willie Mays up at bat" that Chuck is teaching to the crowd at the end- learn it people, (you let me down last night, S.F.)
One of the tightest live bands you'll ever see live. And this sounds wayyy better than the way the groovies do it now. Much more faithful to the song imo
Hey Chuck, you've done this song justice! It's also very popular in Brisbane as ex-Screaming Tribesman guitarist Mick Medew covers it with his band The Mesmerisers. Check it out on Dario Western's TH-cam channel. :)
@@Matzohball77 sorry, i missed the point. I was thinking about SHAKIN' ALL OVER. I was probablly drunk. Shame on me, i call myself a FLAMIN' GROOVIES fan
@@anfrankogezamartincic1161 no worries...I'm from Canada so we like to think of SHAKIN' ALL OVER as a GUESS WHO song (they had a big hit with a cover of it)).
James Wilkins Nope, but someone else posted a version. And I see there's one up from Lucy's. Also a guy at the back was shooting the whole thing, so check again in a few weeks)
Totally underrated Perfect song, rendered, not just with quality but genuine appreciation. Thanks guys, well enjoyed this so much, from Scotland
Quality Video! Props Chuck! Great band!!
Lovely job on "The Mona Lisa of Power Pop." Even got some of that great Groovies guitar tone going.
Yeah, this performance is effortless genius
A great band giving great tribute. This song is always a winner.

Love Chuck since GREEN ON RED days

I think Chuck P and the Mission Express will be in the UK next March. Check them out and call out for the song. They play it a lot.
@@Matzohball77 Thanks for the heads up. I'm pretty sure I saw Chuck P play the Brudenell in Leeds a couple of years ago.
One of the greatest R'N 'Roll songs of all times! !!
Yeah, it's up there with Another Girl, Another Planet and All Kindsa Girls.
Wow!!!! What an amazing job ...covering that song. I was searching The Flaming Groovies.......Well done!!!!

Very nice job on an all-time favorite of mine - well done.
Great version of a great song.
He's got them in the palm of his hand. That's why he's Chuck P!
this is my opinion was the best song released during its time. Flamin Groovies live on with bands like this covering them.
Chuck, keeping pop/rock alive.

Great Job
崩れ落ちる前に、って感じですね!
Top notch, great song from a band of the most awesomeness, the red whistle is nice too.

Melbourne band The Huxton Creepers used to do a great version of this in the early 80s
Perfect, perfect, perfect song.
I love this.
Man, this fucking rocks.
Great stuff! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
WOW! That was fantastic.
Great cover by a talented writer/player/singer/guy !!!
👌🏼🎵🎶 Great song
Excellent cover !!!
Awesome cover by CP 😎😋
It's not a FLAMIN' GROOVIES song. They are my favorite band, but this one is by JOHNNY KIDD AND THE PIRATES from UK
It IS a Flamin' Groovies song.

as if!
The Yum Yums are better on this song. Keep pluggin' though.

En fait il a un air de Gilbert Montagnier...ha ha...ha c'est facile
The Yum Yums are not even close to this. They sound like Blink 182. Horrible cover.
