Please note there are less vendors during July and August due to the heat.
Estimated prices are noted in USD($) (exchange rate in 2024) to help convert into your own currency.
Thank you so much for watching and hope you enjoy the content🥰

About me:
Hi! I’m Michelle. A half Japanese, half British Tokyoite🇯🇵🇬🇧
Aside from reselling, I am also a tour guide, therefore an avid researcher on all things Japanese.
There may be an educational element to the content at times, however, this channel is simply for light entertainment🎶
Should you require info on antique identification, please refer to an expert or specialist😊
DUE TO A HIGH VOLUME OF INQUIRIES, I AM UNABLE TO RESPOND TO SPECIFIC QUERIES REGARDING MARKETS, THRIFT SHOPS, OTHER INFO FOR YOUR JAPAN ITINERARY. This also applies to messaging on Instagram. Thanking you kindly for your understanding🙏
Hope you enjoy coming along with me to shops and markets in Tokyo, and beyond!

Video No.11
Really love your videos. Wonderfully informative and fun- a mix of everything with old and new, history and culture. I can see how you would be an amazing treasure of a guide in Japan. That museum catalogue is beautiful! Thank you for another lovely video experience! 💖🌸
Hi Jennifer! Thank you so much for taking the time to write your sweet and thoughtful comment!😍The Noritake museum isn't huge but has such an interesting collection! Must share more from the catalogue on here sometime. Thank you again!💕

Nice Video! Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching!😊
I really love your channel ❤more videos please 😊
Hi Kathy! Thank you so much! 🥰 Hope to have another one up in the next week✨Thank you for watching and for your sweet comment as always!
Wow, I loved those rabbit tea cups you showed. I broke my rabbit tea cup years ago and never found anything similar!
Oh no! Hope you can eventually find the perfect replacement! Thank you so much for watching😊
The prices are so great, I'd have a hard time restraining myself from buying up! Thank you for another great video. Cheers from NZ.
Hi Shizue! Thank you so much for watching and your sweet comment😊Haha be sure to bring a huge suitcase when you next come over from NZ!🎶
Man, I've been living in Japan for like forever and I never bother to learn the proper names for classic Japanese objects. Kudos for learning them!
Thank you for so much the kind comment! Honestly though, as I was born here some of the objects I'm already familiar with. Other than that, I'm a bit of a research nerd!😄
Thank you for your explanations. My husband is Japanese but takes forever to translate for me ! I love everything you pick up at these markets. We live in Canada and everytime we visit family in Japan I have to think about what I can carry back in my suitcase. 😢
Thank you so much for watching and for your kind comment! I've had tour guests in the past who come to Japan with clothes they can throw out after wearing to make space for everything they want to take home!😄Hope you find some more lovely items on your next visit to Japan🥰
Love your videos. Always the right length. I have a couple of lustreware Noritake wall sconces I bought yonks ago for very little though, to be honest, I don't ever see myself using them. I love the mother and child kokeshi you bought. I have a small collection of kokeshi, mostly bought online (I am in Canada) or purchased at sales held by Nikkei here in Toronto. You are a fascinating person.
Thank you so much for watching as always and grateful for your kind comment! Oooh the wall sconces sound super fancy! Statement pieces, I'm sure. Love that you have a kokeshi collection. They all seem to have little personalities don't they😍Thank you again!✨
I love the mother and children kokeshi and the story of why you brought it home, so endearing! Thank you for the videos that you share. They are so informative and well produced.
Thank you so much Maggie!💕It felt like my mother had joined along to thrift with me!😊Thank you for watching as always and grateful for your encouraging words!
I’m moving to Japan in just a few days and I’m so excited to go to all the markets and thrift stores! Absolutely love the channel!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment Katherine! Hope the move goes well and you have an amazing start to life in Japan!😍
Very touching that those kokeshi have evoked a special memory for you ❤🩹. And always so happy for a visit to Bookoff - it's my favourite!
Thank you so much Sue!❤️Have a couple BOOK OFF Super Bazaar videos to edit so hope to publish them during August!😊🎶Thanks always for your kind comments!
So happy to have found your channel. It's sparked an interest in Japanese vintage objects for me and expended the places I will visit on my trip to Japan.
Aw that's great to hear! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment!😊
Another great video. Thank you. I really like the mother and children kokeshi. I went to the Oi Keibajo flea market almost every weekend for over 10 years. I'll be in Tokyo again in September, so weather permitting, I'll go there again, even though I don't need to buy anything. I have small but selective collections of vintage and antique suzuri, ink sticks, suiteki, kokeshi, Fushimi Clay figures, lacquerware and teapots.
Thank you so much for watching Heather! Grateful for your kind comment😊September will be great to go and probably lively as many vendors who take a break during the summer months will be back. Ooooh I'm sure you'll end up picking something up to add to your collection of items!😍
Yay! Another fun, informative video. So look forward to “joining” you on your shopping excursions. I always learn so much.
Hi Nancy! Thank you so much as always for watching and grateful for your kind words! Hope to take you on another excursion shortly!😊
0:40 omg I LOVE those mice!! 😄 Since I can't have that wood panel I'll try and recreate it with clay 😊😊😊
Aren't they great?!😍I'm sure you'll make some awesome ones out of clay! Thank you for watching and for your comment!😊
Hello. I had a similar ceramic kokeshi some years ago but sold them, never knew it was Kutani. Btw love the lobster plate. Regards
Glad the video helped identify the Kutani kokeshi! Love that lobster plate😊Thank you so much for watching and your kind comment!✨
This was so interesting! 😊
Thank you so much Helle! Happy you enjoyed the video!😊🎶
Do you see much lusterware at markets? I see you found the one plate. Or vintage (1970’s) Sanrio/Hello Kitty things? I love your channel so much!
Thank you for watching and for your kind comment Jenny😊It was the first time for me to find a lusterware bowl. Sometimes at markets and second hand shops you find lusterware tea or coffee/demitasse sets though. For Sanrio goods, I haven’t noticed them that often at this particular flea but that could be because it’s not really my niche😅
You should put the price of things on the screen when talking about them😊
Thanks for watching and for your kind comment! I do that already😊
My mother grew up in Japan. In her will she left me the carved wooden bear. I noticed while watching your videos glimpses of carved bears. Could you please tell me the story of the bears with fish. My mother told me the story back when I was a child, but sadly I have forgotten it. Also could you focus on some carved bears. I wish to purchase one for myself.
The bears are carved by the Ainu, the indigenous people on our north island of Hokkaido. I’m sure I’ve already featured carved bears in another video…there’s so many of them at thrift shops and markets so they’re bound to make an appearance again sometime😊Thank you so much for watching!
@@tokyotique thank you, I don't know much about my mother's childhood. But I believe she grew up in Hokkaido. It sounds very familiar. I love watching your videos.
Could you please let me know if this flea market will be on between October 28 to November 12? I will be visiting and would love to visit here.
It's on most weekends, so pretty regular. I recommend you Google Oi Racetrack Flea in English nearer the time of your visit to reconfirm. Websites like Tokyo Cheapo will let you know if it's on that week! Just remember they'll cancel if there's heavy rain. Have a great time in Tokyo!😊
@@tokyotique Thank you

It’s a small one near Omori station. Details are always in the description box. Thanks!
