The number one problem that happens with just about anything, mixer, television, microphones whatever when it comes to power supplies IS THE INTERNAL POWER SUPPLY THEY ALWAYS GO BECAUSE OF THE ELECTRICITY VARIATION AND SURGES. I don't know how many times I've lost mixers because the internal power supply gets ruined because of this then you're screwed. I love EXTERNAL POWER SUPPLIES they are usually the first thing that go and it also makes it so the unit is not as bulky.. So with that I totally disagree.. not to mention internal power supplies cause more heat inside the unit which causes more dust to be attracted to the internal parts which can also make them go So definitely no go for internal power supplies external all the way!! Not to mention you can find third party power supplies anywhere and you always will be able to... And super cheap
I have 3 sets, one was faulty and just out of warranty. They gave me 10% off a new receiver. The others have also started to drop from time to time. It's been about 3 years now with all of them. It's not s true diversity set either. It's time for us to get a Shure QLXD set Decent for the start up and a backup.
For content creation that Samson mic is great, I did a review on it a bit ago. Unlike the half rack of the PTU-71 the Samson's receiver can fit in my cameras shoe or work as a holder for my cell phone and the plug it into the camera via a 1/8" cable or into my phone via USB. Much more convenient. For live though I wouldn't trust the Samson Go Mobile, or any 2.4ghz system for that matter. My PTU-71 or 7000 come with me on every gig that I need wireless for live sound.
The (PTU-52-1H1B) has volume control on the mike and on the bodypack.
