Fascinating! I knew Barry some thirty years ago and already at that time sensed his desire to delve beneath the surface for meaning. At the very least, his interpretation gives much food for thought. Thanks for posting this interesting video
It is, except that we currently don't have weekly service as Barry is in England for the foreseeable future. He tries to come back every six weeks or so, and will eventually come back I believe. This is a good site for him, as well. www.ukbloke.com
A complete bulleted list of true statements uttered in this video: - "I don't know." He is a Theorist, but it is a gross overstatement to tack the word "theologian" (by meaning) to his name.
This preacher apparently decided to use Mark, instead of Matthew 16:16-17: 'And Jesus answered him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah! For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven."' We have to realize that eye witness reports, per person, will be different. Also, it starts to sound like he is teaching that there is no absolute truth! Amazing! This man does not believe in Christ. He is a heretic. He considers The book of Mark a tale. (14:55)
Yes, he was speaking about Mark, not the other gospels. It offers its own view. I don’t think it’s respectful of Scripture to treat all gospels together like they’re Jello. That’s writing your own gospel - one without internal consistency.
huge fan of Barry Taylor

What does Barry means by "There is no God and we're His disciples?" Anyone?
He speaks well polished rubbish
He means we are doing the work in the name of God. God isn’t there; we are.
This man almost said something.
