    Got this injury from an Arm Bar doing Jiu-jitsu. I was countering by doing a hand lock, hands slipped, and the rest is history

    Was shingling roofs and twisted elbow trying to knock debris from middle of back and kept working. Next day I couldn’t squeeze the water out and open bottle without much pain.
    Nearly 4 months later, almost healed completely but vigorous work or doing pull ups will agitate ucl.
    Also when ucl was hurt top of forearm hurt also

      Sorry to hear that! Try out some of these exercises as they will help mitigate some of the agitation you are experiencing as well as strengthen those structures that protect the UCL. You can also check out one our other videos on UCL tears as those exercises will be a little more specified! Hope this helps!

    Got this same injury, but because of armwrestling, I've had it for two years now. I'm going to try these for rehab.

      sidepressure too heavy?

    • @17vmrivas
      @17vmrivas 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@sun6262- yeah, it's because of using too much side pressure while in a hook, couldn't hook at all, but as a result, my top roll has gotten better, I'm slowly starting to hook again as I want to be versatile.

      so you think if i build my sidepressure to be able to comfortably do a high weight of dynamic sp would my UCL be stronger for baseball as a result of stronger connective tissues?@@17vmrivas

      you think i could use sidepressure lightly to train my ucl?@@17vmrivas

    I had 3 pops in my elbow while getting hit with a belly down armbar during jiu jitsu. I continued training that day because I had no pain. The following day it was stiff and sore. Now I have medial pain along my elbow/upper forearm with pain upon full extension or flexion of my arm or while palpating the area (3 days after injury). Sound like a UCL sprain to you? Im worried about a complete tear but literally the only symptoms I have are what I stated and I've had no bruising or swelling. Needless to say I will not return to jiu jitsu until the pain resolves. Thanks for the video!

      Similar boat for me! Happened while fighting for grip during BJJ and it popped on my inner elbow (Tranverse UCL area). Now I can’t even bench press the bar without pain! Let me know how yours ends up 😭

      @capsaiyan so I'd say I'm at 90 percent now in terms of pain 5 weeks later. I can lift just fine, and roll just fine but while rolling if the arm gets isolated I'm pretty much tapping immediately.

      @@callsignzuluindiafour7676awesome, thanks for the reply and best of luck.

      It sounds like it could be a Grade 1 or 2 UCL sprain but it could possibly be an ulnar nerve issue as well. We would have to look at the range of motion and where/how we reproduce the pain. Nevertheless, if rest has helped it, I would continue to rest as well as continue to stretch/strengthen the surrounding structures and see how it goes from there. If pain persists, than other medical interventions may need to be sought out.

    I have a valgus angle, so if I do these exercises, will it slow down its progress?

    • @OverheadAthletics
      @OverheadAthletics  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      99% of the population has a valgus angle. It’s called a carrying angle

    I hurt my UCL because of a ball that hit my hand and overextended my arm as a goalkeeper in soccer practice. Does it make sense to start with those exercises even if I still feel pain in my ellbow?

    • @OverheadAthletics
      @OverheadAthletics  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes these will be fine as they don’t load your UCL

      Similar to me. Boxing match at 17 hut the ropes came back for a slingshot punch off the ropes and he blocked my straight right punch by pushing my arm up and basically forced my arm into a fast Americana. Pins and needles instantly and couldn't throw a football without extreme pain for about 4 to 5 months. Won the fight and finished my term in the army but now I feel some instability and grinding

    My 16 year old pitcher had a grade 2 ucl sprain. Physical therapy and 2 mri's he still has pain 9 months later and unable to throw... we are going to try prp injection next. Any of you had good luck with it?

    • @OverheadAthletics
      @OverheadAthletics  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes definitely but ultimately he needs to improve his throwing mechanics. If he continues to go back to throwing the same way he did prior to his injury he will continue to have issues.

    Will all this actually heal my UCL or is this only a bandaid, strengthen the muscles around the UCL but not fix the UCL? I got a tear from boxing and I need to get back in the ring, I can no longer throw a jab and its killing my soul

    • @Somedude819
      @Somedude819 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I dont think a ucl will heal without surgery. This is just strengthening muscles that support the UCL. I could be wrong but pretty sure that is how it works.
