This absolutely works for UCL tears from Jiu-jitsu. I did these and did not need surgery. I did get an MRI and saw that tear was a small tear and only Physical Therapy needed. Followed these and another video of exercises. In the beginning using a baseball bat.
Could you explain your symptoms of a small tear? I’m experiencing re occurring elbow pain from jujitsu as well and am curious if it could be a UCL injury
@@alexjarboe1017I would try and get my neck frame in side control. I’d be pushing up as they push down. I’d feel pain on the inside of my elbow. Additionally, posting hurt my elbow. After I injured it, I couldn’t touch my shoulder and it was completely blue and blue. Hopefully you’re feeling better now but you can ask a doctor to do a test (called a valgus test or something like that)
Biceps are attached to the biceps tendon, which is a part of the elbow joint. Trap bar deadlifts are contraindicated by some after biceps curls. Should pitchers stay away from trap bar deadlifts at all, some of the time, or never?
I’m a football quarterback but am experiencing pain in my elbow, I don’t think I need surgery but I want to be able to throw without pain in my elbow, would these help or would they apply just to pitchers??
I think a big key is whether the pain (while resting) is getting better each day. I hurt my lower inside elbow (UCL area) doing tennis serves which does the same pronation as throwing a football spiral. After a few days it is feeling better but I am up there in years and will give it a good rest. I don't think I would do these exercises while experiencing pain. I strained one of the forearm flexor muscles. I guess you had the same scare I had since you are commenting on a tommy john video. Hopefully you are better by now.
My daughter has just been told she may need to have this surgery she is 17 not a pitcher but a catcher she is having pain in her elbow anyways she is set to have an MRI to confirm the dr’s diagnosis will it help for her to do these exercises if the damage may already be done?
@John Doe I had PRP injections done at a local Regenexx facility (centenoschultz.com/) and am on my way to a full recovery for my UCL, no tommy john surgery. They even decompressed the ulnar nerve with a non-invasive technique called "hydrodissection". It's surprisingly affordable and you can get back to PT in only a few days after the procedure. They can repair her elbows no problem, and any other joint in her body.
Prp injections aren’t proven to really do anything surgery is basically garenteed to consistently get her back without questions it’s a hard road but it’s not the worst. But yes these don’t hurt anything all it will do it make it stronger which can do nothing but help.
If anyone stumbles across this comment GET AN MRI. Your tear could be partial or full. I COMPLETELY tore mine and after a month was able to exercise as normal but you’ll never know for sure if you don’t get an mri.

If I am experiencing this pain can I still do these exercises?
probably a bit late but yes dont do them as high intensity
I've been doing the wrist rolls ups for years....but with my palms facing down....is it better facing up??
facing down is more of your big forearm muscle
facing up is more of your forearm flexors and those muscles are what the ucl helps control
This is rehabilitation?
Is the microphone on the far side of the room?
Needs a wireless lavalier microphone.
What is the youngest age that you start these exercises?
I’d say as soon as possible
I'm a pitcher and usually when I pitch the pain comes and then goes away and the next time I pitch it comes back please help or send tips to fix this
