  • Ive wanted to do this project for a while where I convert a Nerf blaster into an overpowered air gun. I was able to maintain the magazine-fed system for ease of use and also integrated a built in air compressor! Stay tuned for the future full test video. Thanks for watching!

Amazing! But using PVC to contain pressurized air is a terrible idea, it is possible for it to explode and send the PVC as shrapnel everywhere. I would suggest using metal plumbing pipes that are threaded. Hawki007 has some videos of HPA blaster tests that show what i'm trying to say.

Also yes, this would make it heavier, but its safer.

I’ll have to look into it and give it shot. Appreciate the feedback!

You should utilize a rubber tube (contained in PVC) to use as a make shift bladder/air reservoir, would be much safer when aired up and should allow for more shots without airing up each time.

I will let you know how it goes, I'm doing this same thing but I'm using a paintball tank and I'm gonna try and see what the highest psi I can get

Was there any specific solenoid valve you used?

    Awesome build

the valve is definitely a HUGE bottleneck. designing a scaled up version of a spexbz might be cool and perform really well

PLEASE put a new breech in and make the tank smaller, stock Nerf brand blasters have a dart post and air restrictor so you can't use short darts in them out of the box. I mean, I guess you can brute-force through it anyways... but please google "longstrike pusher breach" or "longstrike brass breach" and make the tank drastically smaller before this turns into a frag grenade

The air restrictor was removed and the dart gets placed in the front barrel by the breach pusher so it doesn’t use the original nerf post thing. I’m curious, how would having a smaller tank affect the safety of the tank? PVC is rated for 300 psi and I’m no where near that

@@Basbuild It's more that with a more efficient breach, you wouldn't need a tank this absolutely huge (for reference, the Nerf Titan has a tank that's considered pretty huge by hobby standards, and this looks to be about 3 times the size of one of those). I'll admit I'm not that experienced with compressed air builds like this but I've seen enough of other people's builds to know that something this oversized and inefficient is just increasing the risk of something going wrong, and that can get pretty nasty with compressed air (as another commenter pointed out, something exploding is the absolute worst-case scenario). Sorry if my first response came off a little hostile, it's still an impressive build, just as someone who hangs out around nerf hobby spaces the areas for improvement jumped out way more strongly to me. Try googling "longstrike xbz" or "longstrike 4b" if you want an idea of what a more typical build looks like.
