Andrew Garfield is my favorite Spider-man. He is just so natural, expressive and skilled at acting.
He is my favorite too
He's my favorite too ❤ I don't understand why he gets so much flack for these movies. People say they're not that good, but they are done so well in my opinion. I'm emotionally connected to Andrew's take on Peter Parker. Tobey is iconic and my second favorite. Tom is good but also not the best. Andrew, for me, is the perfect version and I will continue to stand by that. Wish her got a 3rd movie like the others. I would pay everything just to have them make one.
@bluewolf2708 the actor is not the problem, the script on the other hand.
@@skywalkerjohn8965 what do you mean? he portrayed the dorky nerdy spidy so well! and as well as the perfect version of spiderman fighting like a literal spider
@dcry1003 I didn't notice this until now. It is supposed to be "not the problem", me and my dumb brain.
He did fine with what was given.
Andrew Garfield is the most comic accurate, he makes his own webshooters, and Gwen is the first love interest just like in the comics
Betty Brant was his first love interest in the comics not Gwen.
@@TheYoungDoctor Yeah but Betty brant played no key roles, Gwen is the first real relationship that will make peter parker spiderman, for spoiler reasons
@@cb_productions362 yeah, she had green goblins's babies. Boy developed traumas.
@@flavia_barcellos that not canon
@@KSSKAYDEE this is what happened though
I know this version gets a lot of hate, probably because it came out so soon after Toby Maguire's trilogy, and right before the MCU started their series, but I liked all the different versions.
It's more like a different Spider-Man variant
It was my favorite back when it came out /I was in high school so felt closer to him than I did to Tobeys run but I strongly believe his films would’ve been better received had they come out a few years later than it did. The timing had people very biased from the beginning.
Ive never hated this version he made the perfect Spiderman. It is my favorite actually
My problem with these movies has nothing to do with the cast, or really the writing in general. The story just wasn't great. I don't know many who actually hate ASM.
Me too.
his chemistry with Emma was much more believable than Maguire and Dunst that's why the onscreen worked so well
I mean....Garfield and Stone are like 100x better actors than Maguire and Dunst too.
I 100% agree with you my friend!!!! 💪🙏🏽
🎯
Yeah Peter and mj in the rami movies just isn’t it. I actively hate mj in those movies😂
@@alarrim29574 Indeed. Oh what a great heroine she is. What a great inspiration for young girls. In how to teach them to always go after rich guys for a better life, cuz an honest job as a waitress is an insult
I love the scene with the kid on the bridge... Peter taking off his mask and giving it to Jack in that moment, choosing responsibility over vengeance, is perfect. And then having that pay off at the end with the people of New York working together to help Spider-Man BECAUSE of Peter's choice on the bridge that day, it just gets me.
It shows what it means to be a hero
Team Andrew becuz his trash talking and spider like movement is just AMAZING!
It feels real... that's why i love it
That part where he just goes full spider on Lizard in the school is badass
His comic accurate quips are great
EXACTLY THIS IS why I love his Spider-Man and also Tom holland becsuse they make tons of jokes during fights and I love Andrews sarcasm
No I thought Andrew was good until TASM 2 when he was risking civilian lives with rhino shooting out the window just so Andrew could tell a few more jokes
i will never forgive people for not liking andrew movies. i rlly rlly love how he plays and understands the role, and tbh these movies were probably the first superhero movies i rlly rlly loved growing up so will always have a special place in my heart
Facts bro and his peter was so relatable to a teenager a quiet kid but as the balls to do what he hadda to you know
I have found my people.
I too, love Andrew’s Spider-Man the best
The guy who played Dr Ratha in this is Irrfan Khan, one of India's best actors. He's one of a small number of actors who received a National Award for his performances. He was also in a few Hollywood movies aside from this, including Jurassic World and Life of Pi. He unfortunately passed away in 2020 from a colon infection following the neuroendocrine tumour he'd been battling for 2 years. He was only 53. He was such an integral part of so many great films I love, him and his talent are sorely missed. RIP.
I knew he looked familiar, I have only seen him in a few Hollywood films but has never been shy from amazing me with his talent. Are there any films of his you’d recommend watching? Preferably from India?
@@chanyeolsass5201 hindi medium
@@chanyeolsass5201 love your username lol I'd personally recommend Piku, The Lunchbox, and Talvar for movies he had the lead role in!
@@chanyeolsass5201 The Lunchbox
I liked how they make the swings with practical effects
They made Spiderman look more real
I really like how much the combat and setups show off all the characters' intelligence, peters sitting on webs in the sewers, Gwen getting the antidote and Conners making the chemical "smoke bomb".
It's something I really miss in the Tom remakes cause it's there but we leaned more into Tony's tech and help.
I know, but logically it makes sense that he'll have access to Tony's tech since tony kind of brought him under his wings and Tony gives tech to everyone. It would have been kind of out of character if he didn't give Peter his tech. Where the movies failed was that they could have shown Peter working on the suit and his webs etc a bit more.
I agree honestly. However, after seeing NWH and getting the big reveal that the Homecoming trilogy was a big, different take on a Spiderman origin, everything makes more sense. I thought it was cool to see a fresh take on that. Honestly I dont think we've ever had a truly BAD portrayal of Spiderman on the big screen. All of them are so unique and have strengths and weaknesses, and that makes Spiderman a really special character tbh. I really hope that at some point they let Andrew finish his trilogy. For all the heart he gave his character, he deserves to get to end his Peter Parker's story
Yeah, like leaving his freaking name on a camera like an idiot.
one thing is undeniable: the chemistry between this peter and this gwen is the best considering all of the others couples from all the franchises
I just love the way they incorporate spider like movements and actions in these two movies like the web sound sewer scene and him creepy crawlying on lizard at the school
My favorite Spider-Man by far. Just like mine I feel like he has the perfect profile for Spider-Man and a more “realistic” take on what is to be a teenager with superpowers. The movements really are on point and the way he uses comedy and jokes during a fight is top tier for me
Yup. The jokes, the combat, the tricks, the romance, the swinging and general movement. All of that is so good in these movies. He really feels like a man who fights like a spider.
@@shawnjames3242 and that's only becuz of good CGI.
Imo i feel more relatable with Tobey's spiderman. Not only it depicts of a how it feels to be a teenager with superpowers but also teaches us some moral approaches towards life.Imo it is much more inspirational than the TASM series.
@@alexjames5103 But TASM is more emotional. I don't really relate to Tobey. Andrew is like me. He can be sarcastic and witty, not really fitting in, awkward, sensitive, etc.. and the music just made me feel better. Tobey is iconic, but I can't relate. I love the life morals, but watching Andrew felt more personal to me. Is that wrong?
One of the things I liked a lot about this iteration is that Peter genuinely feels like a grieving teenager who's acting out. I remember a lot of people thinking he was bordering on being genuinely too mean to the street-level criminals in this, and I remember thinking that that was the point.
Andrew Garfield is the best actor to portray Spider-Man. Period. He does not need words, his eyes and face movements are enough to convey emotions.
I love that the cranes help Spiderman out but i always love the fact that the crane guy to start it all is the dad of the kid, jack, that Spidey saved and is like the reason he is Spider-Man
You guys should watch some behind the scenes footage of Andrew swinging around in his suit. The practical stuff they did for this movie is really amazing, it has the best swinging in any of the versions imho
I grew up with Tobey’s Peter/Spider-Man and for nostalgia reasons and I agree those movies were great and epic!
BUT!!
If we’re talking about more accurate COMIC BOOK version Peter Parker/Spider-Man, it’s definitely Andrew Garfield who portrayed that perfectly. Even with the flaws about TASM and TASM2, you can’t deny Andrew’s performance in both movies. In the comic books, Peter Parker wasn’t necessarily clumsy/geek. Even though he can be quite awkward, Peter was more of an outsider he didn’t really belong to any group or specific type of nerd/geek. He was just a chill teen who is intelligent, quiet, and a bit awkward in certain situations. He also did have a lot of girl friends/love interests, so he definitely wasn’t too shy with the ladies as he got older. Also, Gwen Stacy was basically Peter’s first love/girlfriend before MJ in the comics. TASM took some aspects of different Spider-Man comic books as well as trying to have some similarities to Tobey’s Spider-Man as well.
Other than the questionable writing on storylines especially some villains that were in TASM/TASM2. This movie came in between the height of Tobey/Spider-Man mania, people weren’t ready for a “reboot” or a re-telling of Spider-Man. Especially when there were talks about a possible Spider-Man 4 in the works. So you can imagine fans just not wanting to welcome a new Spider-Man that is not Tobey. So there was not a lot of support or excitement when TASM came out, which is unfair cuz honestly I enjoyed both TASM and TASM2 despite the flaws with the reason that I really enjoyed Andrew’s Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Plus, Peter and Gwen aka Andrew and Emma’s chemistry is just 🔥🔥🔥
I enjoyed Tom Holland’s portrayal as believable young Peter Parker/Spider-Man and he was given well-written and fun movies + the great chemistry of the cast too.
All 3 actors have their strengths and being their own charms to Peter Parker/Spider-Man within the generations of Spider-Man lovers. Andrew is my sentimental favorite Peter Parker/Spider-Man just because I felt he was more grounded/relatable.
I LOVE THIS COMMENT SO MUCH THANKYOU EXPLAINED THE THING THAT I CANT EXPLAINED WELL😍
THIS IS THE PERFECT EXPLANATION literally all of them are good in their own ways
I love this comment! This is what i want from every single spidey fans out there even if its tobey's fans...
But sadly, its really rare to find this type of person tho..😢
Peter parker had more girlfriends at a much later stage when he was pretty experienced as Spidey. As stan lee himself said peter was never very good with girls
You literally wrote each and every word that we’re going on in my mind. I grew up with Tobey’s Spider-Man and I would honestly say that I was literally a hating TASM without even watching it. When the first movie came out I was furious cause I thought it was too early for a remake, Tobey would be the one for me but when the second TASM came out and I finally watched the first movie out of boredom, boy was I shocked? I throughly enjoyed it a lot and then watching the 2nd movie, I thought they did a good job at making him seem like actual spider, have ptsd and death of main character. Not to mention the 2 villains were handled better in it than in Raimi version of Tobey’s. I realised most of my perception were there because I was biased and Garfield became my favourite Spider-Man. That being said, all versions of Spider-Man are unique and great in their own way and people should really give each one a chance.
So glad to see I'm not the only one who loves this version of Spider-Man.
GAY
Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is my favourite. Him as Peter Parker is so real and relatable to me. He reminds me of my older brother’s best friend growing up. He skateboarded and has almost the exact same personality of this Peter. It made me really attached to this Peter because it came across as a real person and not a movie character.
The suit design and swinging is also amazing in this movie, which I think the others don’t match up to in the same way.
Overall this first movie is super great
"he's like a mini godzilla"
I laughed way harder than I should have hahaha
yeah at the time i thought these two movies were a joke, but i was just comparing them to tobey's. in retrospect, i now understand that while the scripts were still kind of a mess, the acting and visuals were stellar. i truly could not choose my favorite of the three actors because they all mean something different to me.
also, andrew and emma were actually falling stupidly in love in real life while making this movie, which is why a lot of their scenes together feel so ridiculous. the director basically told them to ad lib, and they took it and ran.
Controversial but I defenintly prefer Andrew Garfield's take as spider-man over the rest 🤷
I agree :)
Agreed, I think if the second movie had gone smother than more people would have this take.
I agree
It’s not really controversial I think there are tons of people who like his spidermsn but hate the writing like with the villains
It's not controversial Andrew Garfield better Spider-Man than Tobey and Tom
I really liked the Ninetailedbrush's take on the thief with the milk versus the thief with the wrestling money. Like the milk scene felt more grounded, where as the wrestling money felt more...theatrical and telegraphed to me? Not sure how to explain it, but I actually liked the milk scene over the wrestling thief part.
I love Andrew Garfield's take on Peter/Spiderman. When I picture the character, I picture him.
Sad you cut one of my fave scenes from the video! It absolutely crushes me when Peter is upset at school after Uncle Ben's death and Flash consoles him.
Small comment but I really enjoyed how they did Flash in TASM - he would've been amazing to see as Agent Venom. I liked he wasn't really just there in the plot to be a bully, he's shown trying to comfort Peter. And there's also the TASM2 deleted scene with Flash. Would've liked to see him again :(
My favorite Spider-man!!! I'm so glad y'all reacted to this and liked it! A lot of people crap on these movies (for dumb reasons most of the time) so Im always happy to see people truly enjoy it. I can't wait to see your reaction to the next one!
my favorite thing about this movie, is that i was 10 when this movie came out, just a kid, having watched the raimi movies way before this one and knowing nothing else about spiderman, i never understood "with great power comes great responsibility" and never understood that was spider-man's entire deal...until this movie came out. people seem to hate that they twisted the words and made him more revenge focused at first, but this movie made me understand the meaning of that line, and I think that is incredibly powerful
This version of spider man is based on the ultimate story line where peters parents worked for shield.
I know a lot of people love them and I remember liking them well enough at the time, but the Raimi films don't hold up well to me. A lot of the writing is cliche and corny, and Maguire felt underwhelming as the lead. For me, the only Raimi Spider-man film that was better than ASM1 was the second one. Raimi's had better villains, but Garfield's charisma as Spider-man, and his chemistry with Stone blow Maguire and Dunst out of the water.
Exactly, the raimi's trilogy are cringe and cliche especially how the love interest MJ was written
The dialogue feels so natural in TASM too, that whole car scene with the thug and the knife is classic Spider-Man
I agree about the corniness, it does feel dated and more campy than the later versions. I'd also prefer TASM 1 over Raimi films any day but still, the Raimi films are iconic and made many people the fan of Spider-Man.
@@WilliamButtlicker That's fair. I appreciate that Spider-man (alongside X-men and Blade) helped bring Marvel to the mainstream, and I appreciate what they did for comic book films in general, but the Raimi films are very, very overrated imho.
@@EmphaticNod the main reason I don't like them that much is because Tobey's acting and even though he has the most screen time and other than the 3rd film, he's not much convincing to me and his delivery is very very monotone. I don't hate him as an actor and it was great seeing him in NWH but in those films, he's almost unbearable.
I’m so glad NTB liked andrew here! I complete agree with what he said on how andrew played Peter!
Andrew Garfield is the best Peter Parker/Spider-Man by orders of magnitude.
He's physically Peter/Spidey ripped straight from the comics.
And he's a notably better actor then Holland, and a better on a level that makes Maguire look embarrassing.
These movies themselves aren't the best, but the first one is pretty great, and overall they both do a LOT of things better than the Holland or Maguire movies.
Ultimately, the perfect Spider-Man movie is an elusive combination of all three universes.
TO BE CLEAR, Andrew Garfield was not IN ANY WAY too cool to be Peter Parker.
This is bang-on exactly who Peter Parker is.
He's a very attractive super awkward nerd who bumbles around and embarrasses himself, and then gains spider powers and gets buff and confident.
Peter Parker has more girlfriends and love interests than almost ANY other normal lifespan comicbook character.
Like Wolverine? Sure. But he's like 200 years old.
Peter probably has more girlfriends than Tony Stark.
And Peter's girlfriends are an INSANE array of gorgeous women.
Mary Jane is a supermodel/actress.
Gwen Stacy is a model/scientist.
Black Cat is hotter than any supermodel.
He's dated superheroes like
Captain Marvel
Shadowcat
Mockingbird
Silk
Marrow (as Sarah Rushman)
and Silver Sable
And you know how hot every female superhero is.
Plus a ton of normal girls, like
Debra Whitman
Liz Allen
Betty Brant (J.Jonah Jameson's secretary)
Jill Stacy
Lian Tang
Michelle Gonzalez
Carlie Cooper
Cissy Ironwood
Glory Grant (another supermodel)
Sophia "Chat" Sanduval
Marcy Kane
Plus the women who are into him
Jessica Jones has been in love with him since high school
Rogue is into him
Emma Frost
Jean Dewolff
One hundred percent accurate!
Nah andrew is a good spiderman but not an apt peter parker.Peter parker had abt 20 girlfriends and most of them got abt by peter at a much later stage in peter's life.
Andrew's peter seems like a spoilt brat with temper issues. He doesn't have the same nerdyness in him which is there in both tom and tobey.

A great Spiderman film, hated by Tobey's fans that was blinded by nostalgia, but finally getting the recognition it deserves.
Yeah I didn’t watch TASM’s until right before NWH. I held off because I always heard how much they sucker. I immediately fell in love with Andrew and Emma as Peter and Gwen
I just watched all three of the different spiderman movies. I have to say that I loved this guy's personality. I also was really enjoying his long shaggy hair kinda bad boy/ skater look.
The actor that played the father to the boy Jack, also played Ponyboy in 1983's ''The Outsiders''.
glad someone finally mentioned this

Isn't he the same guy who plays LeStrade in the BBC Sherlock series?
@@WilliamButtlicker nope. That's Rupert Graves. In this movie, the actor is C Thomas Howell. He was also one of the teenage boys in ET.

46:34 He broke "both of his websters".

The final scene about the promise, I think they did it to give a preview of what's to come. Like if they didn't do that, the second one wouldn't have started the pace of things as needed. It's still sad because Gwen's dad is dead, but obviously it's Gwen's choice how to live life and the risks she could take. Loved your reaction guys, sending love and support :)
in the Toby movies, he made his own version of the promise at the end of movie 1, but to himself. by the end of movie 2, he broke his vow. so if they did a whole 2nd movie like that this time around, it wouldn't really have been that original. but the promise was still made, because Spiderman has certain themes, no matter which actor is playing him.
This spiderman is my favorite of all of them. He hits like every note of the amazing spider comics. I love my accuracy. They took a few liberties but past them they added so much comic lore and abilities show cased also his agility. Love Andrew Garfield's Spiderman.
I feel like all my dreams where I was flying, it felt exactly like Andrew Garfield as spider man swinging, the cinematography for it was so realistic that it literally came to me as a dream
I LOVE this movies, I would even say Andrew is my favorite Spider-man out of the three, I really believe his body acting is incredible and really reminds you of a spider, the way he moves when he has the suit on is awesome
I always forget to mention this, but it always seems like Andrew Garfield's spider sense warns him of things across New York City, even if it's bad enough like his is that crazy intuitive
The reason why the original trilogy and TASM1 were memorable, was because of the producer LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her husband (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the movies had depth
She was the only one capable to tell AVI ARAD when to back off
Unfortunately, she died in 2011, during the production of TASM1
Without her, there was no one to stop Arad from destroying the franchise

Not many people liked this spiderman suit, so when you said this was one of your favorites I had to give this video a like. Because I love this suit.
These movies really hit there peek with the second one. This is a great take but the second one basically picks right up as if both movies deserve to be watched back to back.
I just realized, Branzenio is mentioned at least once in each version of Spider-Man.
I always enjoyed these spiderman movies. I think this was the first spiderman movie I watched in cinemas multiple times. Andrew delivered my favorite spiderman portrayal and quite a decent peter. Alongside with good characters, a decent villain and a good storyline for the movie. It was though a tad dark for me because there’s a lot of spiderman scenes during nightime and less during daytime and when I think of spidey I think of him being an hope hero, and daytime does suit that persona better. Good reaction 🙌

Listen…I’m a 45 year old fan of Spider-Man…Garfield’s portrayal of this character in my opinion is “THE BEST” hands down. Obviously comparisons are subjective but for me in order…physically (love the thin, lanky way he fits the suit…the web slinging is by far the best we’ve seen.)… the relationships (specifically…Sally Field? Is that the actress’s name? And andrew’s chemistry…we all know, “with great power comes….how about aunt may’s line about secrets in this one…chills), story-writing (specifically…cool-nerd’s awkward interactions with Gwen) Been drinking and lost my train of thought…this comment has gone on way too long and honestly…don’t know if i got my point across but…fuck it…sorry for the novel…kudos to anyone who has read this final line.
Andrew Garfield is one of the few actors who can be incredibly expressive even with a mask on...🙂 always #teamandrew, even though I love Tobey and Tom as well. 🙂

Although I do like and respect all three Spider-men but I'm definitely team Andrew... because even with a mask on you can feel everything he feels by his amazing body language : fear, courage, love ,... It's like he injects his feelings into the audience + the undeniable and unrepeatable chemistry with Emma stone + he sketches his evolution from an introvert to a brave, selfless young man, in his eyes, his body language , the way he talks ...just hands down to his acting skills + this aunt May is by far the best aunt May ever ,I literally thought she is Andrew's real mother due to their chemistry
Martin Sheen is a very famous actor. Sally Field is equally (maybe more) famous as well. She’s won 2 Oscars & been nominated for another.
Not as famous as him. The dude is like a icon of the new Hollywood ?
@@nicolasbls1738 I think it probably depends on your age. I’m 53 & she was one of the top 2 or 3 leading ladies of the 1970’s & early 80’s. She dated Burt Reynold & they were all over the tabloids. @@goldenageofdinosaurs7192 well idk about that but i know Sally Field from Forrest Gump, Ms. Doubtfire and Norma Rae and I know she's a very great actress but i dont think the Acadamy Awards are a mark of celebrity these days. I was just glad of what he said about Martin Sheen because i dont know many people who realise how this guy is a legend of cinema. I believe you but as a student in cinema myself, it's always cool to see someone recognizes M. Sheen as a great actor :). Maybe because I consider his performance to be too much overshadowed by Marlon Brando in Apocalypse Now. Btw sorry for my english it's not my first language.
@@nicolasbls1738 I wasn’t giving her Academy Awards as a measure of fame, necessarily. Just saying she is a well known actress. In the 70’s & to the mid 80’s she was probably one of the top 5 most famous actresses in the US.
Martin Sheen is great. I love him. In the US, his sons, Charlie & Emilio Estevez are very well known as well. I’d say Charlie is more famous than his father, at least to the last 2 generations. And your English is great. You write better than many native speakers.
I don’t care what anyone says about the 1st film’s suit. I liked Marc Webb’s idea of how would a high school student make his costume.
I love everything Andrew Garfield does, I love his spider man ❤️❤️❤️
Honestly, something people don't talk enough about is just how fluid and spider-like Andrews Spidey moves. Also his actions and swings and stuff just feel like they have more weight to it or something. It's very unique.
I totally agree with you. Tasm1 suit was the best designed spider suit ever. But the only disadvantage of using that suit is lack of mcu webshooters.
I don't know why people hate it and i don't care... I love this movie so much. This one and the 2nd. These two had THE best production and cinematography
Such an underrated movie. The visuals and Andrew’s acting is very good. To me he is the best live action spider-man by the way he moves and fights in the suit and how quipy he is. Also the suit is the best one hands down.
I grew up a Toby fan and Spider-Man I is still my favorite Spider-Man movie. But this guy in this movie was absolutely fantastic. And the suit and mask are the best of all Spider-Man movies and the web slinging throughout the movie was so clean and jaw dropping no other Spider-Man movie comes close. I didn’t think I would like it but happy I was wrong
Andrew Garfield is a great Spider-Man imo. He felt like a more pure distillation of Peter Parker than Tobey Maguire (I like him, too, though) who came across as kind of wimpy. Peter Parker was a "regular" teenager before becoming Spidey, but he wasn't a doormat. Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland got the tone closer to what I remember from my days reading my uncle's comic books and watching the Spider-Man that was on the Electric Company (I'm old as hell). Also, I loved Sally Field as Aunt May, she was perfect.
andrew garfield is more of the undergrad age 21 to 25 ish 1997 - 2010 versions of Spiderman when hes matured a bit more than the golden age comics version of tobey maguire's version. a lot of the people who complained about this peter being to cool are the ones who wanted more of the golden age comics type stuff, especially being that this came out right after Captain America 1
I still prefer the Andrew Garfield TASM version of Spiderman to Tobey Maguire but I do like Tom Holland more than both of them.
I think I give Andrew a slight edge to Tom. Tobey’s a distant 3rd
I just know that the spider that jump scared me on the wall next to my bed while I was watching this thinks he's HILARIOUS
"Oh no...he knows science!" might be my most favorite reaction ever!
To answer it for you: Gwen was first in comics....yea
Andrew is still my favorite spiderman, he's just such a good actor
In terms of having a different villain makes for a better story because there are so many other Spider-man villains that he faces aside from the obvious Green Goblin and the lizard is one of them and there are others just like we see in Tom's homecoming movie the vulture is a big villain for spider-man and it doesn't just feel like a carbon copy so with these movies I'm glad we didn't just get the same villains from Tobey's version.
You're right about that Kiss scene lol. I always thought it was so damn romantic
ninetail knows what’s up, the amazing spider-man is my favorite movie and andrew is my favorite spider-man
To me I think, Raimi`s movies is something from the childhood. Something flawless and shiny in the context of those first impressions. All of them are still something we associate with our first full-scale comic based movie experience. So, they are really untouchable in this way of thinking. But the first TASM film IS the best Spider-man movie as, in fact, a movie. It has better chemistry between the main characters, better costume design, better stunt choreography (like really, we SEE Andrew Garfield doing actual parkour unlike Tom Holland who is proclaimed to be better athlete but never actually shows his un-CGI-ed skills on screen) and arguably better score in general. Raimi`s villains are the best though, no question (we see it how they`re stealing the show in No Way Home).
Perhaps the best Spider-Man movies. But just judging the movies as works of art, the rami movies are better made
Marc Webb is best known for directing 500 Days of Summer, which is also a great movie.
*vine*
MOM: "what's that ur holding?"
KID: a KNIFEEE!!!
MOM: NOOOOO!!!
when James said knife! that's what it reminded of
Dr. Connors is also in Sam Raimis spider-man
Keep it up guys, greetings from Mexico 💚🤍❤️
I've never understood how people can claim that this version of the character is too cool to be believable as a nerd while at the same time cringing at the awkward silences, stuttering, weird situations he gets put into and so on. Him being handsome doesn't mean he isn't a nerd. Peter Parker has never been ugly: the fact that he has a whole list of incredibly attractive love interests that rivals or even dwarfs Batman's is proof of that.
The hate for these movies really just stems from people not wanting to admit that the Spider-Man they grew up with isn't that good. Tobey did a horrible job as Spider-Man, straight up. That's where this whole line about "bad Peter Parker but good Spider-Man" came from. The people that fangirl over Tobey had to try and throw him a bone somewhere. You literally never hear this said about any other hero. Robert Pattinson wasn't a good Batman but a bad Bruce Wayne, because they're the same character. The same person.
6:10 honestly, this version is much more comic book accurate compared to Raimi's version, in almost every way. Implicitly Pretentious has a few great videos comparing the movies to the original 100 issue comic run. I will say that this version follows the Ultimate comics a little more than the original, especially with his parents.
But, as good as the Raimi movies were, they were probably the least comic book accurate of the three iterations. Not just because he had organic webs, but even his relationships with MJ and Harry were a complete departure from the source material. Those movies were just so good, that that version of Spider-Man became the defacto.
Don't think so.The only deviation in raimi trilogy is probably the organic webbing thing.Other than that it was pretty apt.And harry in both the versions betrayed peter. And the andrew as peter isn't comic book accurate at all.
@@alexjames5103 nah. Again, Implicitly Pretentious has some great videos directly comparing all of the live action Spideys to Stan Lee's original run, and he covers it in greater detail than I can in a comment.
A few highlights Peter wasn't an awkward loser without any friends in the comics. He had a pretty big friend group in high school, including a lot of the characters we see in the MCU version. He was also kind of a jerk, constantly trying to find ways to get even with Flash or anyone else who laughed at him. He didn't even meet Harry and MJ until college. We even never actually saw Uncle Ben say "With great power comes great responsibility" until a comic in 2002, though it was narratively stated he had said before. And Doc Ock was never a sympathetic villain, they basically merged his character with Lizard's. And they really deviated from the Spider-Man No More story.
As for ASM, things like Peter choosing to humiliate Flash instead of just defending himself, the characterization of Gwen and Connors, and the arc of Spider-Man starting out using his powers just a personal vendetta before becoming a true hero, all of that is much closer to the comics.
Now, TASM2 on the other hand, isn't even close. I think the parents arc was supposed to be inspired by the Ultimate comics, where his father actually created the Venom symbiote. But as for the rest of it, I can't say much.
And again, none of this is meant to diss on Raimi's at all. It's a testament to those movies that they shifted public conscientiousness of Spider-Man the way they did.
oh no, he knows science 😩
4:42 Understandable. Yeah, in the comics, Gwen Stacy was Peter Parkers true love interest. Unfortunately, she was killed in the comic. Making it the first time the hero's love interest dies. What makes Mary Jane special is the fact that out of all Spider-Man's relationships, she's the only one who marries him and starts a family.
Oh I sorta like that
Yep, Black Cat preferred Spider-Man, all Peter and Cindy (Silk) did was clap cheeks, and then there was Anna Maria Marconi, Captain Marvel (yeah Brie Larson's character, "hey Peter Parker, you got something for me") Bobbi Morse, Carlie Cooper, honestly just to many to name, he made up for his very early high school years and just got around, essentially just tapping everyone that he saw, also the actor who plays Dr. Connors plays Luna's father in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows if I'm not mistaken
Kinda a spoiler 🤦🏻♂️
@@alarrim29574 What spoiler? I'm talking about Spider-Man's relationship between Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane from the comics. Nothing more 🤷♂️
@@mageeaaron2624 you literally said she dies in the comics
I heard that there was supposed to be an Amazing Spiderman 3 but it got cancelled which caused like a domino effect. Since AS3 got cancelled other planned movies afterwards also got cancelled (e.g. Sinister 6, Spider-Man Movie with Black Cat, etc.)
I heard rumors it may come back tho
this is actually my favorite spider man, he is such a good Peter i love it TEAM ANDREW 💖💖
The end of the swing is amazing
We wouldn’t have to worry about solar/nuclear if we could harness the chemistry between Gwen and Peter.
CDPR obviously took inspiration from the web shooter to create the Monowire Cyberware/Implant which shoots a long glowing wire to slice and dice but it was originally going to have a Remote Hacking Jack-in feature with an animation akin to Spiderman shooting webs but got rid of it because you can do wireless hacking from a distance, it's not as interesting or dope as what the Monowire could do.
I really enjoyed watching how you guys enjoyed watching it!
We need to see the second one. You guys are gonna love it!

Tiny correction, people were use to reboots as both superman and batman had been rebooted multiple times by this point. Most people didn't want Spiderman to fall into the same trap therefore causing backlash after announcing a sequel 6 years after the last Tobey film. Not to mention the fact that most fans just wanted another movie with Tobey at this point.
One of the interesting think about Doctor Conner (the lizzard) is that even as rhe villain, in his mind, he was saving humanity. Making them like him would improve them, thr healing and strength etc... it was a twisted version of his goal to help make people better by regrowing limbs and help heal from illnesses etc...
The whole thing where he's looking at the pepper's ghost of himself in the glass, that's a real therapy they do in real life, but with mirrors I believe.
I loveeee this movie!! If you really liked Andrew Garfield he’s in an amazing film called hacksaw ridge, I recommend giving it a watch🙌🏻
