Really enjoyed bike vs car lines comparison as well as your and Nige's comments on two cars and lines! Thanks for showing me his channel, heard about Pinderwagen for quite a while but never saw his channel before. Can you share some thoughts about R8 platform as a track car similar to Nige's approach? Older Gen 1 maybe, something on less expensive side. If V8 makes sense? maybe with some mods/rorced induction? Budget to run it like that compared to Porsches? What the better gen/engine to start with? For some reason I rarely see these in trackday environment.. Also what I noticed (yes, it's obvious) that on on rwd, but especially mid-engined cars - load transfer is crucial, you need to be (reasobably) on throttle in turns and you cannot lift mid-corner :) at least one of Nige's slides from what I can see was due to lifting mid corner :)
Nige AKA @Pinderwagon Is a true gentleman both on and off the track with a wealth of experience and happy to help anyone, speaking from personal experience from many VW trackdays /ring trips back in the day ! I really need to get my trackcar back on the road
Great video, it’s nice to hear other talking about driving styles and car balance as it help us novices. Who ever installed that spoiler on the escort needs to have their arse stitched up, seriously!
What a great day out with Ricky and the team 👍. The weather wasn't ideal but it didn't stop us lapping. Thoroughly enjoyed the laps with Ricky and the chase laps were the highlight of the day 👌 Another excellent video from Davlar. Hopefully we can do it all again at the Nurburgring next month 🙂
Enjoyed this, especially the suspension talk and using the bike knowledge to influence car setup. Id love to see some videos of you on the nurburgring. Bike or car would be incredible.
Cool video, love both cars. I've watched the Pinderwagen at Nurburgring also and what's interesting is (to me anyway), how it shows the difference between a gated manual and paddleshift.....and you get people swapping from paddleshift to gated manual.....
I'll be at Combe next week (20th) so I'll try some of your lines and points. Braking into Avon Rise and Quary is always a big boy pants corner. I'll aim for the traffic light this time.
Such a shame it was damp for the day 🙁 Really enjoyed the video though 👍🏻 Great to hear Rickys track tips and the Lambo sounds fantastic 😎👍🏻 I was in 2 minds whether to come along in either my RSQ3... or my C30 2.0D 😁.... then did nothing about it 😑🙄 You could always ask Graham/Jason Plato for some car lines tips 😜😁 As someone else has already said, seeing the Firenza was great, I'm definitely a fan of an old Vauxhall (or Opel 🙂)
An interesting video idea would be comparing: - R8 Dynamic (Sport) Mode - R8 Performance Mode - Huracan Sport Mode - Huracan Corsa Mode All of those plus ESC off… Could be informative as to how the handling characteristics change.
Gen 1 r8 seems such the better balanced car , personal thoughts are that is has more rear bias , So you can feel that direct to throttle where as the Lamborghini feels like it’s closer to permanent 50/50 feel and would let go together with more momentum, So you can never just drive it on the rear with a pointy nose
Lambo's rubbish!!!! Point and squirter. Totally useless when it comes to a corner. Death traps. Ok if you have a dolly bird on your arm in Monaco at the famous casino.
You obviously speak from experience. You ought to have a channel yourself, I am sure loads of people would learn form your vast knowledge. You may even become famous and get a girlfriend.
Loving the Firenza ! “Old Vauxhalls never die, they dissolve”

Hey up thanks for the predictably crap video enjoyed it, that GT40 look never gets old it's timeless
Time to supercharge it 😂
“Your assend feels looser than mine” classic Ricky.
I hit that cone with my knee on a bike track day. Didn't end well. 😂
What happened to Coxy's twin-charged Gen 1 project, is it shelved or still ongoing?
GT40😍

Honest question. Are the racing gloves necessary? Doesn't bare skin give a better touch?
I always drive on track with gloves.
Fixing broken shit says it all....
