    Usually I don’t nerd out on details but it’s awesome having someone teach DG that actually really knows what he’s saying. I’d love more drills we can work on. I find yours to be taught well and I think most of us trust what you have to say. Much appreciation 👊🏾

    Hey Dr. Krush, Minnesota Mitch here, comparing the speeds of the disc, along with the arms speed, has always been in my mind. Super cool that you touched on that a little bit. the tailwind explanation towards the end of the video made me curious, do I throw a slower Disc because of the tailwind, like if I normally throw an 11 speed should I throw a 9 speed? Very intriguing information stay cool Broham !

      What's up! I'm glad to hear you liked it Mitch. If it's a strong tailwind you can certainly disc down, that should help with distance also predictability.
      And I hope the realty stuff is well!

      @@NickKrush.DGandFit Yes sir all is good, just testing out, tuff stuff! Anyways, I wanted to mention a thing I noticed after working with you on my form reviews. I have now noticed that I'm "parking" or over throwing 370'-400' holes when I'm playing my casual rounds. That's exciting!! I am also using less power to get there, meaning... I can play more holes/rounds and not be drained of energy! Also, I'm less sore due to the use body mechanics more efficiently! My form is not where my goals are, but you helped clean it up a S-ton! I'll be competing soon with more confidence thanks to you sir!! I will be Focusing on my "500' at over 50" real soon! Be Well

    Off topic, but i figured you might have some good insight here. In deadlift you un tilt your hips for a neutral spine (The tip ive used is to imagine lifting your belt buckle up with your hips). Is this also the correct spine alignment for a backhand throw?

    • @NickKrush.DGandFit
      @NickKrush.DGandFit  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There's an interesting dichotomy between core bracing in lifting and rotational bracing in the backhand, with deadlifting we like to have a neutral to slightly extended lower spine, but in the backhand, you'll want more posterior pelvic tilt with more engaged abs, which will induce a slightly flexed/rounded spine from top to bottom.

    Rim depth also matters quite a bit. A 24mm rim with 11mm rim depth has a sharper angle than a 25mm rim with a 12mm rim depth (for the same disc profile on both bevel and top plate, obviously, which will be close to impossible to compare).

    • @NickKrush.DGandFit
      @NickKrush.DGandFit  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed 👍at 6:48 into the vid you'll see that rim depth is one of the variables in my regression equation (along with width and configuration), where it contributes to an exponent-weighted slope angle using trig

    You might contact disc manufacturers and request them to provided you with different weights. If they want to sell their products your information is key. Because I guarantee weight matters! A LOT! So does the type of plastic. I have over 250

I train to play disc golf. Martial arts, calisthenics, stretching, diet and endurance training. I’m playing better than I’ve ever played. • @SeaBear161
    @SeaBear161 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Does how flippy a disc is impact whether or not it’s appropriate for your arm speed, or just how fast it is? For example, I have a star destroyer that is basically a roller only disc at 60+ mph; would it net better distance for someone that has an arm speed slower than what a 12 speed might typically require, since the disc is so under stable they still get a nice s curve?

    • @NickKrush.DGandFit
      @NickKrush.DGandFit  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are exactly right, something that flippy would require so much hyzer angle for you that it would decrease arm speed and increase injury risk, so it's better suited for a less powerful player.

    • @SeaBear161
      @SeaBear161 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@NickKrush.DGandFit yeah that makes sense, regarding that “lift threshold” you mentioned though, does under stability play into that?

    • @NickKrush.DGandFit
      @NickKrush.DGandFit  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SeaBear161 there is a strong correlation between understability and glide (due to parting line height/airfoil camber), but beat up discs usually lose more stability than they gain glide so the lift threshold may likely be more dependent on the base speed rating and glide rating 👍

    What is rim config? Where do you come up with it?

    • @NickKrush.DGandFit
      @NickKrush.DGandFit  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rim configuration is a measure of the sharpness of the outside 5mm of a disc's edge, with a lower number being a sharper edge (26.0 is the PDGA legal minimum).

    What is the rim config colum in the spreadsheet?

    • @NickCarroll
      @NickCarroll 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Rim configuration is the sharpness of the rim of the disc. The sharper the rim, the better it cuts through the air. The sharpest legal is 26. They generally get out to about 100 as max values for standard disc types, though vintage and super class discs can exceed that. For example the Super Nova from Innova has a sharpness rating of 112.5 but is not legal for PDGA sanctioned disc golf rounds. It's a larger, taller disc.

  • @andreasericsson6989
    @andreasericsson6989 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Most important thing; Everyone is a study group of one. Try different discs and see which ones fly the furthest for you. For me, it's wide rim bastards, because my long fingers allow me to get a really good grip on them and tip them to pieces. For my short, small-handed friend, it's 21mm rims at the most, because his grip turns to garbage with anything wider.
