@@HardWhereHero no you can actually store media files mp3 and movies into the ps3 system and use it like a flash drive. plus the first gen that had the sd cards, plus the usb, and plus the blu ray. you can also store pictures in it if you want a photo gallery. the entire system is a all around media beast. which they could do again but they make more profit making you link to spotify and pack your screen with useless crap and streaming clips of people you dont know nor care about. i always liked consoles because its just my system where i can escape from the world but now they incorperatte the world into consoles which i guess is good for the young gen but for me im antisocial i like my sp games and my customized screen. no modding needed
The issue is with the pendrive formatting not ps5 and ps4 basically its how a pendrive configures itself across devices. So if you tried on a macbook you would get the same system volume information folder and then coming back to windows, it would show the files but a folder with the same name would also be created. Its just how microsoft devices read and modify information on a usb flash drive that makes this new folder. Can be corrected by using a few commands on command prompt if in the worst case the content isn't visible on windows as well.

So maybe if you got your movie from a torrent or something, it will know and wont play it. Also, max res is 4K, don't try a bigger res, it won't work.

I did this on my PS5 with a 1tb PNY 2.5 ssd with a usb adapter. In my old PS4 I needed to make a folder "PS4" and then in that file create subfolder "Video". worked the same in the PS5

I would like to know if with authoring software it will be possible to create BD or DVD to be used on the ps5 I have many m4 files both 1080 and 2160 to see on the ps5 (on the xboxone it is almost impossible)
It's not impossible on xbx lol xbox is Windows based system and can play literally any file format video wise It's the audio codecs that the xbx struggles with to play anything on xbx just download vlc player from store ;)

Make sure your USB is in ExFAT format.

The Ps3 is unique like that, it is the only one that you can save files right on the hard drive. That is why I still have mine.

Just burn it using DVD Fab (if you are using Ultra HD Bluray) or TSMuxer (for Traditional/HD Blu-ray) or Nero Media Suite
