Plants have an amazing ability to connect people. Example, I have bought my flat (because I am old and settled), but the flat next door is rented mostly by young students. I grow herbs on my balcony (organically) and when they are prolific, I give them to my neighbours to add to their food. As soon as I do that, then I receive all sorts of little gifts back, and when the neighbours move on (usually because they have finished their uni degree) they always site "my little garden" as being a big part of the joy of living here. Ps my balcony is tiny, but the plants love it. We can create a piece of paradise anywhere if we try. Even non psychedelic plants have a big effect on humans.
So nice to hear older person with a positive attitude to the young.......that keep's your mind bright and flexible. I was lucky enough to have parents like that and now I'm the same.
I was on heroin off and on for 10 yrs . i failed on methadone and every treatment program there is ... Then i went to texas . stayed in the middle of no where got clean .. After a few months i took penis envy mushrooms which are psilocybin and after I tripped my face off on those one time I have not used any hard drugs in 4 years not only have I not use them but I have been around them and it is no longer a problem for me it completely reset me like I had never used opiates before I did not notice this really until a few months after the trip also my anxiety went away and my depression went completely away it's like I forgave myself for everything and moved on
Jesse Rush thats really cool. I wish that there was more science and information backing the medicinal use of psychedelics. Glad to hear you pushed through your addiction though!
Every 2 weeks on psilocybe cubensis...it has changed my life...the horrendous depression is gone and hasn’t come back since I started doing this...the internal battle with suicide is completely gone !!!
Just another person adding that Kratom also saved my life. I live with pain daily after a car crash 5 years ago. I regularly attend a pain clinic where i am prescribed Narcotic pain pills. Kratom allowed me to completely stop taking the pills, now i take Kratom 2-3 times per day, I do not feel intoxicated and my pain is MUCH better. Best part, I can stop taking it and i have almost no side effects or withdrawal. Recently I traveled overseas for 1-month, I went from dosage of 3 times a day to nothing, and had almost no withdrawal effects. I have had worse withdrawal effects for anti-depressants i was also prescribed, hell i have worse withdrawals from coffee...
Kratom withdrawal can be really really difficult though. Glad you haven't experienced much difficulty but others shouldn't read this expecting Kratom to be something you can just take and quit whenever you'd like. (though the withdrawals are definitely better than those of what it substitutes)
I was at a very high end pain clinic, and when I got back to the resort every evening, I started researching Kratom and then I ordered some. I was on some heavy narcotics, and so was everyone else at the clinic. It worked so well for me, I ordered a shit load and handed it out for free to my fellow patients. The health care people had never heard of it, nor wanted to hear about it. One guy I gave it to was on a couple hundred ml. of Oxycontin. The day after I gave him a batch he came up to me almost in tears, he was blown away by how well it worked. Everyone I gave it to came back with the same story.
And I don't know if I buy that cuz if they already have pain pills in their system the kratom is not powerful enough to overcome what is in their system are ready and be effective now if they didn't have narcotics opiates in their system and used it then sure I could see it working I'm a heroin addict in recovery and when I did have heroin in my system Kratom did not work for me at all so I don't know if I buy your story not saying you're a liar I just don't believe that they would work when somebody already has a high dose of narcotic opiates in their system
@@shaneknerr7030 I agree with you 100 percent. Kratom attaches to the same receptor in the brain as narcotics, thus giving a slight feeling of taking a pain med, or heroin, so if you take them while on a strong narcotic, you will feel nothing. Even if you take it the next day, the tolerance level will not allow you to feel that small amount of kratom. You also cannot keep taking kratom to feel more effective, at some point, you will get a headache and maybe even vomit. I gave Kratom to a recovering heroin addict, hoping to curb his pain, he ended up using up to a kilo per two days, even after I told him Kratom will stop working very fast, the tolerance builds up very fast. Kratom works as a mild pain reliever, but it is not a substitute for anyone a large amount of pain killers or even heroin. It will relieve withdrawal symptoms to a very small degree. Glad you are clean bud!!
I take a day or two off every 2 weeks usually. Helps keep my tolerance fairly low and reassures me im not addicted to it because while weed itself may not be addictive humans definitely can be addicted to pretty much anything including weed so its good to take a break sometimes just to kinda prove to yourself you don't need it sometimes.

as joe takled about microdosing psilocybin and that some fighters take it "to know" what will happen moments before is so true. i had that feeling once too as i was on mushrooms. i knew my best friend will come and visit me so i got up and opened the door just secounds before he was about to knock on it. i wasnt expecting anyone at all at this day so i was fking shocked as he was standing there. I once guessed 6 'Guess Who' cards my gf at the time had whilst playing the game high af. I was so lazer focused it was unreal. We were both completely shocked by how accurate I was time guess after guess. It's like I could read her mind. A peculiar experience where I just 'knew' the card. No, currently the (nationalism) or nation state model has not failed though it is close to failing. When it does, say goodbye to ALL FREEDOMS. The nation state and nationalism as a model with the nation state as the absolute highest sovereign is the BEST MODEL to have multiple cultures on Earth at the same time peacefully. Corporations WANT a communist global government technocracy, but they HAVE NOT YET SUCCEEDED. If they do, its OVER MAN. Trump is holding us up as a SOVEREIGN NATION, and for all his BS, that is his saving grace. Governments ARENT PUPPETS YET. TRUMP PROVES THIS. ISIS wants a Caliphate (globalist) Hitler wanted Germany to run the world (globalist) Communism wants to run the world (globalist) Truth is nationalism is the only system along with capitalism that has provided much productivity and wealth for the common man, and is the system of government that causes the LEAST amount of democide. Nazis and communists were and are globalists, islam is globalist. I agree that malignant nationalism, believing your country is better than all others, absolutely can be poison, as with many nationalists over history. And of course the idea that your race or ethnic background being superior is also an ignorant dangerous ideology. But the system of having nations and a nation state as the absolute sovereign is the best most peaceful way to have multiple cultures on Earth, so Nationalism IS A GOOD THING. Globalism, or having one giant communist dictatorship, is a system that would cause FAR more TERROR. Im from the USA and I think its the best, but only because we have the Bill of Rights and Freedom of Speech, and no other country can compare with our level of freedom. But its like rooting for your team in a football game, all the teams, and certainly the players (individuals) matter and are sovereign. And im from here, so its my favorite, but if yours is another, im cool with that, just dont be fooled by all the international corporate propaganda that wants a global state, because NATIONALISM WORKS.

We need an updated 2020 episode with Dennis! I'm really curious what he has to say now with the pandemic, election, and drugs decriminalized in Oregon.
The people that believe in The War on Drugs think it was and will again be a smashing success. They became rich. That trillion dollars went into their pockets. They prisons are filled. Their friends that own the for-profit prisons are wealthy. That’s their goal. They don’t give a damn about saving lives. They’re sociopaths driven by greed
This. The war on drugs was a smashing success once you realize it was always about removing undesirable persons (blacks, mexicans and anti-war white kids at the time of the inception of the dea) and creating unlimited sources of dark cash for the cia to wreak havoc at home and far abroad. Smashing success.
Exactly they know its a war they can never win its not ment to be won its ment to take tax payers money for jobs for the soverant its a money grab i mean they play both sides we know this to be fact its crazy that they get away with this

Yea, right now with all the covid crap and having to work at home, I can't smoke cannabis. I tried lol. For about 2.5 months, nonstop, high all the time. Once I ran out, I could barely function because the anxiety was so insane. Felt like the world was collapsing lol. Didn't expect to achieve any level of dependence with it, but I definitely did. Took a good couple weeks to feel like I got over it.
“There will be so much dug up on Trump with Russia and collusion that they will impeach him for all the horrible stuff he is doing” That quote did not age well.
I really hated how he went on about Trump but not for any political reason. Just the fact that he is passing himself off as a serious scientist and researcher only to give his “authoritative” opinion on someone he does not know. What’s more is he claims he knows what the best method of treatment is for someone’s mental health is undoubtedly unaware of. It would be like a psychiatrist seriously giving a diagnosis and treatment of James Earl Jones while only looking at his performance as Darth Vader - that is insane and it’s a shame Rogan fed this guy’s delusion. But that is 2020 for you, claim trump is negative for literally any reason real or fictional, and you too can be an “expert” with a valid opinion.
@@michaelstjohn4665 "Now journalists are questioning everything." I'm sorry what? What planet is he living on? I love listening to both McKennas but I'm routinely disappointed by the political savvy of prominent psychonauts.
Same here. Salvia was my first experience in that department. Low potency, my sense of proprioception was all messed up, felt like my consciousness, in relation to my body, was out of joint, and so even though I was standing up straight it felt like I was leaning back for some reason, so I sat down. All in all it felt like my surroundings were further away, in a different realm so to speak. Lasted maybe 10 minutes, followed shortly after by a throbbing headache that subsided maybe 2 hours later. The experience was cool, but not worth the headache! Never again, I said to myself.
Cybernetĩc gsǖs Lol no kidding. The thing that had me taking salvia in the first place was wanting answers to the heaviest questions that exist, but my only mistake there was taking too much, or you could say too much of too high of an extract, so as soon as I crossed through the membrane-like veil I was shot past the beautiful "we're all one and all unique, and your thoughts and intents and expectations play a role in the bigger picture of what happens in a very real way" straight to something I'll try to describe separate from this already run-on sentence. Under too much salvinorin-alpha, it's something worse than a physically torturistic hell, because (if anything like my too-much salvia dose), you are convinced that you just fucked up sooooo hard in that you just metaphorically cut your timespace continuum into a Klein bottle kind of thing in 4 spacial dimensions such that a finite amount of timespace just looped into itself somehow doomed to repeat forever, such that moments before repeating from its beginning you only then realize what you've done and it's already too late to stop because your realization of the time loop fuck up aligns with events that flow back through the loop seemingly indefinitely. It's much worse than it might sound, it is beyond description shit, so when God or some mystery troop of hyperdimensional awareness helps to undo the fuckup after what seems like aeons of this agonizing four minute loop, you are sooooo thankful to be sober l. Holy shit it's the most humbling!
I took salvia and was fine because i think most do it way wrong. Take a verysmall amount of salvia then when you feel ready do a little higher dose to get into the trip without falling.
"I would never be a member of any group that would have me." That is a truly beautiful quote. Heard that one a long time ago. Thanks for the reminder. Psychedelics are beautiful too. I get it & all this bullshit around me is very disappointing. Psychopaths & idiots. Thank you JRE. I am very happy that we have come a long way with research & understanding this stuff. Thank you Joe, Dennis & Terrence. Thank you all who contribute to the awakening of our depraved society.
meth is only bad if ABUSED. If you smoke crystal and stay up days at a time, thats abuse. But for a narcoleptic taking 5mg desoxyn to stay awake all day, or an extremely obese person taking a small amount to curb their appetite, it can be a lifesaver. Meth isnt bad, its just very very easy to abuse, and 99% of people who try it cant control it. Dont do meth, but there is a reason it IS LEGAL under US Law for doctors to prescribe.
I have never done meth due to parents having their struggles. I don't like being around people who actively use meth....BUT, I always wonder if amphetamines could be used responsibly...and maybe that's not meth...but shit, sometimes I wish I could have some energy, focus, perhaps dumbfounded sense of excitement that meth seems to be contributed with...I will continue to wonder.
The production of black market methamphetamine blows my mind. Now I'm pretty much with Dennis on the whole "There is no bad drug" mindset, but when it comes to the toxic stew needed to produce this particular drug, I can't help but think that it's inherently negative.
I smoothed a gravel road out with my eyes and went skateboarding down it. I did the same thing to my gnarled pinky finger and it straightened right out. I walked along the top of a wire fence as easily as walking down a sidewalk. I saw an Angel and a white sphere fly over my yard. I bought a new album, started singing along, knowing all the words even though I've never heard it before. I've had purple clouds come out of my eyes. Sometimes when I'm laying in bed at night I can see a very light blue light glowing from my eyes, more like from behind my eyes. A few weeks ago I was singing along to Alice In Chains Unplugged when the room started flashing dark. It continued for the last fifteen to twenty minutes of the album, it happened again a few days ago when I was talking about some people I love. Twice I've had a television screen appear inside my eyelid, the first it just showed a dragon galloping on top of clouds, the second time the Archangel Michael said, "There's a video screen, Eli", and sure as shit one materialized before my very eyes. The image was in black and orange instead of black and white and it depicted a man working on something in a shop. I couldn't see what, but he walked out from behind a table and sat down at a machine in the foreground. I should have told you first that Angels speak to me through me. They played pure Hell trying to make contact. I thought I was being possessed, thought I was going to lose myself to them, so I fought against it for years before I finally realized they weren't trying to hurt me, so I just let go of myself and let them talk. I wanted to hear what they had to say. There were times in the past where my skull has crackled and split and I had to tap it back into place. As soon as I did I'd have great clarity. It also moves and shifts around. Sometimes my ear canals will be up to two inches off, one higher, one lower. I think my skull kind of like the crystal egg I found at a friends house. One day I took it off the shelf and to my delight I discovered that by rubbing it I could fuse the interior facets of the crystal, but when I'd bump it, it would crack apart. I wanted it to stay clear, I tried rubbing it in water and that seemed to help, needing somewhere soft and wet, I put it in my mouth. Once in there, the crystal egg flattened out on my tongue like it was made of Silly Putty and crawled down my throat like and inch worm. Weird, huh? Oh, and don't let me forget all the syncronicities I witnessed, in music and television. I'd be watching T.V. and listening to music and it would look as though the people on television were singing the songs I was playing, every syllable matching their lips perfectly, this made me think some crazy shit, like that God was broadcasting my music over the airwaves, so I had my fun with it thinking that, I knew what I was by that time and figured that's just how it's done. Twitter. Twitter sucked with syncronicities. Every post would describe me and what was going on in my life, it wasn't craziness, it wasn't paranoia it all made sense, I could have sat you down and explained how what the people were saying pertained to me. When this stuff happened I was under the impression that the whole world knew about me and that God was keeping them under control from addressing me directly. So I tried using these powers to put on a show for everybody. I'd play guitar and sing night after night trying to spread my message of love to the world. I thought everybody could hear me, people were always saying to me, "I hear ya." So I believed everyone always could. Seemed like everyone I'd talked to would say they hear me. It wasn't delusional, I had plenty of reason for my beliefs, it was syncronicity. I was made to believe it was that way. I even had a friend of mine sit in the living room with the T.V. on, I played guitar in my guitar room as she watched television and I asked her if she could hear me through the T.V., AND SHE SAID YES! So it's not my fault for thinking y'all could hear me, I tried to check. Try dealing with that shit, try going on with your life thinking that everybody is listening to you all the time. I didn't care, I was glad. I think people should hear my words, so I've been trying to put myself out there on Facebook since I finally came to the realization that I am not exactly the voice inside people's heads. Not exactly, I've been convinced that everything I say registers with people subconsciously because of what I am. Separation is an illusion anyways, we're all connected on a spiritual plain. So if you're bored and lonely, speak out loud to your friends, they'll hear, in a way. It kinda works for everyone. I'm just louder and am addressing EVERYONE at once. I've been on one Hell of an adventure for the past eight or nine years, these are just a few of the highlights of it. I know it all sounds outrageous, but if you really know me stop and ask yourself, "Why would he be making any of it up?" I'm not bullshitting anybody, I just want to give you all hope.
Eli Etten You need to slow down on the sauce man. I had deja vu 10+ times a day for months after taking acid once and one day things went back to normal.
I took Dennis's advice (two weeks ago) from a clip of this video, on reading the book "plant intelligence and the imaginal realm" - ISBN: 1591431352. So far, I'm not even 25% through it and I'm blown away by the information and knowledge within. Without having read Aldous Huxley (yet), I now understand what he meant by the "doors of perception" and what sensory gating really is... Dennis talks about quite a few interesting things in this video that are well covered by that book, which I recommend to anyone who enjoyed this video. He too talks about self-organized, flow dependent structures, Gaia, bacterial organization, communications, etc.. I am hooked on this book ever since I started reading it. And to think, I was going to skip it because I thought the cover makes looked like a gardening book about flowers or something lame - so far from it and I'm so glad I didn't ignore it. As it turns out too, this book is basically one of a series. There's no doubt I'll be buying them all once I'm done. Anyone familiar with Dr. Bob Melamede's lectures on thermodynamic flow dependent structures far from equilibrium theory, the EndoCannabinoid System, Psychedelics / Psychonautics, bio-chemistry, neuropsychopharmacology, cannabis or "drugs" as we call them, gardening, etc. would really like this book. Thanks for posting this video!
Yeah Stephen Buhner is great! I really like 'The Lost Language of Plants: The Ecological Importance of Plant Medicines for Life on Earth' which is the only book I've read by him. I did start to read the book you mentioned but got distracted and haven't read it for awhile. Thanks for reminding me!
Agreed. I used Buhner's "Healing Lymes" to heal my lymes disease, and although extremely well researched, you know he uses the sensorium to "communicate" with the herbs that he recommends and explore their uses. It's all been part of a change in paradigm that honors the inter-connectedness of all and the ability to perceive this.
Just checked out that book and it looks exactly like the type of stuff I’m trying to read at the moment, so I’ll take your received advice myself. Thank you! 🌱
Joe Rogan you are wise beyond your years and an amazing person. I have listened to your podcast all this year, old and new, you always make me learn something on my own. This podcast is amazing because I struggle with opiate addiction and have for 15 years but I am a very functional addict. I have taken suboxone for a couple years to help with my addiction but it seems to take the same schedule out of my life. He recently mentioned the red room 'ufo' studio is temporary, and was put together as a go between to handle the podcast after the move - until he eventually gets the new studio put together. So many people butt hurt on this comment board about the 5 minute politics talk in the video. Smh grow up and learn how to listen to another persons views for a second without freaking out.
Of course their reaction is an extension of their opinion, that isn't the point. Who cares why they're butthurt? If they wanted to engage in a conversation, that isn't the way to go about it. Having the ability to listen to someone who thinks differently than you is the point and a sign of maturity. I fail to see how the original comment is anything close to "butthurt".
@fenrirdies bro c'mon, he was just saying that anyone getting their panties in a bunch about a brief and vague political mention is missing the big picture of the podcast and could probably really benefit from opening their minds just a bit...

When we emerged from the jungle and pure chaos, order was our friend. Eventually we achieved balance, but we keep propogating order and now we're departing from balance. If we continue plummeting toward pure order, we'll wake up in an authoritarian world. Chaos is our friend.

Besides, FOREVER IMPEACHED PRESIDENTS don't really win a 2nd term. Trump was FOREVER IMPEACHED, he will NEVER win in 2020.
Well it looks like the authoritarians won .... yay let the Bush and Obama and dick Cheney and Hillary Clinton deep state elitist back in control 🙄 👏 👍 No difference in any of them .. Want to know who your true masters are ? look at who your not allowed to criticize !?
My grandma smoked pot for over 40 years. She also drank old charter with sevenup and dipped Levi Garrett snuff until the day she died,at almost 80.She was a school teacher, Sunday school teacher, business owner and helped hundreds and hundreds of people but in certain people's eyes she's "not a good person". I guarandamntee you she did more good than sessions ever has or will.Fuck Jeff sessions!
@@L.ATRAFFICNMADNESS yep, and beat cancer twice, second time she has a double mastectomy. Only smoked J's and she had a couple glass bowls. Her diet was amazing, she grew all the vegetables she ate, and my dad are grandad got the majority of meat and fish. So the first 60 years she ate farm/woods/water to table.
Dylan Forman hell yeah dude, I'm currently shopping for a home and would LOVE to showcase some of his work inside....not an easy find tho unfortunately lol
love this man... he seems a sweeter, more good-hearted version of his poet-brother. His inflections and sense of humour seem to be shared with Terrence -- and it is so lovely to observe those similarities shared only by siblings. Much, much love and blessings on your path, Dennis -- it is so necessary and helpful for the Healing of the Planet.
William Mcgrath The "war on drugs" is to create 21st century slavery. ..that's why this current administration of racists want to build more private prisons.
If Terence Mckenna made an appearance in this show, time itself would shift out of proportion and the universe would explode then destroy all dimensions
no, its not. and dont use 'powerful' regularly as an adjective. you sound like a stupid roided out bald douche who smoked his first joint after the age of 40.
trolling? if you want to be a tool thats on you, im high af. but its a controllable high,. i dont have the tolerance of a 40+ yr old juicehead who recently discovered weed and psychadelics. still wondering if he had a life in high school. he would be way less annoying and probably ouldnt wear hoodies everyday and wear teenage bro shirts.
I had a nervous breakdown from it. Never been the same was a happy and ordinary teen guy just got my hands on what people think was laced stuff but nobody else had that reaction.
Hey man. Been there. Trust me. Mine wasn’t laced, but I went one 4 trips in the span of like a year and a half. Had some nice experiences but also suffered from depersonalization and anxiety about the uncertainty of life. I tend to only smoke weed now - which helps mellow me out. But it’s ok, it gets easier and eventually if you just give yourself a break from drugs, you’ll entertain yourself with good habits and get into a great state of being. Then you could trip if you wanted to and have a good time. Or not. Either way, try to look at what you gained mentally from the experience. Perhaps some coping mechanisms for when you feel anxious?
Please invite Ann Shulgin on the show. I bet she'd do it. She is 86, though, so hop to it. I wish Sasha was still around. Maybe have McKenna or a chemist join her on the episode.
Perhaps the "war on drugs" ensures that prison systems and the drug cartelles remain profitable ....with ease. Drugs should be a health issue involving education, not a legal one (in many cases)!
Have been putting dennis off because im such a huge terrence fan.....So F#*n glad it was exactly this. Dennis mirrors his brother in such a perfect way, same grace and truth but also original. thanks Dennis and also Joe for knowing when ta sit back and let Mckennas be Mkcennas. Goodness.
The first time I smoke marijuana I took 3 bong rips because they didn't seem to work. Holy shit was it insane. I literally felt my third eye open, I experienced synthesia, I could felt electricity in the air and I couldn't control my emotions between laughing hysterically and crying like a madman. It sucked because no one believed I was experiencing everything I was. Later I found out schizophrenia runs deep in my family and now I am extremely careful who I partake in plant medicine with
Same .. I felt electric & thrust into somewhere else...my dad comes from an era when mental wasn't properly considered so I didnt know why I had such a reaction. I have now been smoking with the right people for 20 years ...these days I respect my levels & smoke part time. I felt a.3rd eye reaction & electricity through.my hands.. Thanx for just being honest about your experience. After 20 years reading your comment made me feel less nuts.
to be transparent, I completely advocate for the continued legality of this plant, and admit to its many positive qualities. I've met more than one person who feels it has either saved their life, usually from a harsher addiction/withdrawal, or it has been a wonderful alternative to prescription meds when searching for a way to cope with their many psychological ills. with that said, it has completely f'd up my life. I have experience with other more intense things, and for whatever reason, this plant has been the most difficult to quit, and has had some serious negative impacts on my quality of life. please don't freak out and tell me I must not know how to respect the plant, or that i'm an ignorant ass hole. it's been my experience that this plant can be great medicine for some, but I've also observed many people jumping into it and thinking it is no more addictive than coffee--it is. i'm on day 1 of WD right now, and the pain is real. ok, I'm ready for the shitstorm of denial and dismissive name calling. if you have something intelligent to say; however, I'm all ears.
bilbo bagginziz are you taking kratom extracts? Those give the worse withdrawals and increase tolerance. I take about 6-9 grams a day, if I stop cold turkey I get some insomnia, never felt any pain. Either way, I wish you luck on quitting man
I had some experience with extracts, albeit briefly, many years ago. The withdrawal from those brought on new levels of anxiety that I didn't think were even possible. It was well beyond the intensity of any other WD I'd ever previously experienced. However, that was over 2 years ago, and during my long relationship with Kratom, it has been 99% dried leaf. The WD from the dried leaf is arguably much easier.Still, I've quit 4-5x for at least 2 weeks, and up to about 6wks. I mentioned earlier I had experience with harder stuff. With that in mind, my experience with Kratom has been this: the WD is way harsher mentally than physically, when compared to traditional opes, and lasts way longer than you'd expect. We are talking weeks of depression, anxiety, no joy in anything, disrupted sleep, no motivation, and intense irritability. Depending on your duration and intensity of use, I'd argue it can take a solid month to start really feeling good again. Though, don't let that stop you if you're thinking of quitting. After 5 days, it is more of a downhill battle, if you're prepared for the psychological stuff. There are also supplements that really take the edge off.The variety of experiences people have with Kratom WD is astounding to me, but it can be generally agreed that they are always awful. I don't know your history, or why you got into K in the first place, but 6-9g/day is really not too bad. Thank whatever God you pray to that insomnia has thus far been your only noticeable symptom.Still, have you ever tried quitting for, let's say a month? If it were to be made illegal starting August, what would your emotional reaction be? I think it is important to take stock of why we are using this plant in the first place. For me, it was as simple as being bored, and feeling trapped by life. Rather than taking grown up steps to change my circumstances, I numbed myself with a plant. I allowed myself to believe it was no more dangerous than coffee, and here I am years later, wishing I had never even heard of it. If you haven't used it long, like less than a year, it is a lot easier to quit than once you hit the year+ mark.I have a lot of experience with Kratom, and addiction in general, if you have any questions. Though, I'd totally understand if you didn't want to talk to a complete stranger.
hi Grin, there are few places you can find honest information about Kratom-certainly not from the vendors. It is not a well studied plant. The best place I found for honest feedback about the plant is at the quitting kratom reddit forum www.reddit.com/r/quittingkratom/. Though, this is admittedly a quitting forum, and folks their are focused on that.... Still, whether or not you have interest in quitting, or have ever even taken the plant, the feedback there is honest. If you search through forums that celebrate Kratom, you will never hear the whole story. Some folks their are downright hostile to anyone that has even the slightest negative thing to say about Kratom. But don't get me wrong; It's not an evil plant, and has its many uses. But way too many people advocate for it without telling you the possible danger. If you have questions, make a Grin Stylez reddit account, and post your questions there. I am active there, and will keep an eye out for any post you make.
Should have Hank Wesselman on. He is a 30+ year anthropologist looking for the origin of man in Africa and studies shamanism of many ancient cultures. Incredibly interesting.
Dennis McKenna seems like a wonderful person. If you like this one, be sure to check out his appearence on Chris Ryans podcast Tangientially Speaking. Min blowing episode.. Keep it weird guys!
I dunno. Hard to consider someone a "wonderful person" if they consider Obama to be a "thoughtful" person. Guess dropping 30,000 bombs in a year shows a real sense of compassion as long as the media ignored it.
My parents brought me and my cousin to Panama City Beach, Florida for summer vacation in 1990 or 91’ and one of the many headshops was offering drug free trips via a lighting setup. It was a small room that was maybe 10’x12’ with cool rugs and pillows on the floor to lounge on and about 6’ off the floor was what I can only describe as Pink Floyd’s full concert lighting setup. It was an astounding number of lights. I was 12-13 and I distinctly remember flying through space at a pace fast enough that I felt like my body was going to tear apart. I was in a realm of fractals and waves of energy. The guy that came up with that light definitely wasn’t the first to figure out the process. Some Dead heads from Florida definitely figured it out almost 30 years prior.
Started watching this sober and have watched every episode sober....whatch others like about diet and comedy or UFC, and you will come back to these with an appreciation for the knowledge
Much respect and admiration for Dennis work and big thanks to Joe for an awesome episode and for helping disseminate such essential education. Warmest regards from the Spaced Painter :)
The Podcast brought me to a place where I was comfortable enough to try LSD and let me tell you, BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE 💯 brought me peace and understanding... As a person with manic depression believe me when I tell you ... it’s a beautiful experience that will change your life
I'm glad it helped bro try mushrooms tho dude acid is too strong for regular use. Micro dosing mushrooms is much more beneficial in my opinion and can really help give you perspective on what's causing you pain in your life . Have a good one fella
I think personally, marijuana definitely can become a habit. And once I notice this habit, smoking almost becomes negative because I feel guilty when consuming. I only smoke 1-2 times a day usually toward the evening but I want to work towards taking whole days/weeks off.
I remember the first time i took lsd. I was 17 anyways i stayed up all night the next morning im sitting there and i realized i had been changed forever i was very openminded and my thoughts were already outside the box .but i was never going to see things the same i had been inlightened it was the best feeling its true if youve never experienced this than you will never understand and never know the knowledge thats is there for all of us to use i almost think it should be mandatory to experience. I know that this is never going to happen because some people will never get it they are to tight minded. And consider us to loose minded probably in are dna
Its a great experience bro people should at least try to open their mind and become more conscious by other ways like meditation, yoga , breathing exercises, etc if they don't want to take drugs but that is the best way it's like turning a key in your brain and switching the lights on imo
I've heard of the flickering light technique before. It's pretty cool, I saw an egg being cracked in full 3D in front of my eyes when I accidentally tried it. I'm sure his version is good, though I feel like you could basically reproduce the effect with a smartphone app and perhaps an LED bulb, instead of a 3000 dollar lamp.
I loved the first few minutes of this podcast, I have been over consuming cannabis for the past 12 years. I’m now 3 months without and just finding my centre once again so it made perfect sense. Rather then working as medicine it became a chore. I’m overdue for a psychedelic experience however I have never rushed such experiences and I’m sure one is coming my way very soon.
lost souls Sounds cool man. And good on you bro it’s not easy, took time for my appetite to restore and had a few weeks of near sleepless nights along with lucid dreams. Are you familiar with psychedelics? You planning on a guided experience? Personally i like to be my own guide having experimented with lsd, psilocybin and dmt. Hoping to try mescaline in the near future. Peace and love ✌️
@@roldybangzz2228 and psilocybin mushrooms especially make me lose my sense of individuality. Like, I was in a group environment and was expected to make decisions as to our course of action, but I just would go with the flow to such an apathetic state
@@troublesuiter I completely understand my man. I wish you many good things in your life and your path towards awakening. I can see you know a little something extra than most people don't ;)
There needs to be much more work done on salvia divinorum and salvinorin a it has potential the completely block opioid receptors does rendering an addiction to opioids affectless. It is also the most powerful naturally occurring hallucinogen that we know of
These guys are so right. The people we need who are smart enough to effectively deal with the challenges of the world today want absolutely no part of the pit of despair known as politics. Sucks to be us right now.
I would start with Cannabis if you have not explored Psychedelics to be prepared for the way they can effect your mind, especially in terms of paranoia. From what i know about addy (which i have never taken myself so i dont know much) it zones you in and almost makes time itself irrelevant. Psychs will cause almost the opposite reaction, making you feel like you're almost stuck in time with yourself (maybe not cannabis so much). However, i have heard personally, and online multiple stories of people losing their craving for other drugs and almost finding the meaning to their life when on stronger psychs like LSD or Shrooms. If you know somebody that is familiar with psychs i would look to them as an informer and even a "trip sitter" in case of a bad trip. Just embrace the psychs though, allow the medicine to do it's work on your mind, remember it is not damaging your brain, it is almost expanding it, showing you there is more to life than an addiction or a great stress that you have. STAY STRONG MY FRIEND and i hope this helps even a little!!

Taking Adderall and Vyvanse isn't a problem 😀 Running out of Adderall and Vyvanse is the problem 🥺
Look beautiful to practice wim hof 30 deep breathes will help every minute if your up for it lol I smoke weed everyday for 10 years short breaks, I wouldn’t recommend it but I’ve heard great stuff about mushrooms and lsd and DMT was cool really cool ha. In the normal world exhaling dmt would be like. Watching tv and your folks coming in with cakes (boxed) kfc bags, all ye favs, wearing funky clothes, and then just dissolve and turn into the inside of a bag of crisp. All whilst feeling no harm no paranoia no feeling of it going wrong, dmt kinda just goes from normal to great in seconds and that’s that
I can’t wait to try mushrooms kick this shitty weed habit weeds just brings all the stuff u bury and deal with to the surface hents doing fuck all, or being shallow because your always dodging the bullet, try fasting to 48 hour fast on water and juice is a strange feeling like a snake shedding it’s skin
Stop criminalizing people for dmt, for acid, for mushrooms, let the people do what is best for them!! For fuck sake you let everybody down depressant garbage that kills them... nobody ever od’d on these hallucinogens and it’s bullshit to categorize all drugs as bad... ok not all drugs but any that aren’t directly making the pharmaceutical entity more profitable are automatically labeled as “bad” as a strategy to control us... it’s time for people to stand up for these substances. How many of us have had impactful trips? The same number of us that have made poor decisions while under the influence of alcohol... wake up America. One of the most useless substances is our most highly revered??? Bullshit let us live.
Having been depressed and anxious i was always in a terrible mood and dident want to talk to anyone and I would feel as if I was watching everyone around me living life and I was just there emotionlessly observing like a robot after taking psilocybin Mushrooms for the first time I felt as if I was living and experiencing life for the first time and made me realize how amazing life really is I was so happy I cried
Salvia is one of the heaviest trips I've ever taken, aside from the god trip on lsd. But it is absolutely not for sale in N.Y. as far as the last few years
Aiur all the trips I've seen people who were on Salvia was nuts (ex. The dude that climbed out of his house through the window lol). Are people just taking too much or is it just an intense teacher regardless?
Phillip Lewis honestly, on the god trip there were moments when i had to relearn how to be a human, on salvia i had no control whatsoever once i was on the other side. we smoked it, but the reaction was unbelievably quick, as in, you would exhale and then feel yourself falling through your body. i had a friend who said i stared at him as if I'd never met him, meanwhile i was in another realm entirely, it felt as if id woken in the backseat of a strangers car, while the driver spoke through the speakers, reassuring me that everything was exactly as it was meant to be and always was

God bless your soul my friend.
Heroes and capes and all that
Never have I seen a comment worth monetary gain. 👍👌

Awesome!!!!

There’s your science ^ and story ^
Beautiful
That’s actually very common of people that use Ayuasca, DMT or a powerful trip on Ketamine or Psylicibin. Congratulations!!
The moral of the story is, if you’re addicted to drugs, you need to do more drugs.
Every 2 weeks on psilocybe cubensis...it has changed my life...the horrendous depression is gone and hasn’t come back since I started doing this...the internal battle with suicide is completely gone !!!
Irish Mule69 I love it!! So glad to hear. Every 6 months or so, I do DMT, and my insidious depression goes away! Glad to share that “cure” with you!

This is exactly what I deal with every day and just started trying mushroom tea
That's the effect 😇 i had to do weekly for a while tho and it's always a learning lesson
lost souls I found that 1.5 grams in tea has been the best at home dose
Zevin X thanks for sharing!
Thx :) My friend has been talking a lot about the powers of kratom for the last couple years.
Pain patients are different but if somebody uses kratom for real bad mental illness then it is very addictive.
BEWARE: there is a condition called 'Ketamine bladder' which is permanent damage and PAINFUL af.
Kratom withdrawal can be really really difficult though. Glad you haven't experienced much difficulty but others shouldn't read this expecting Kratom to be something you can just take and quit whenever you'd like. (though the withdrawals are definitely better than those of what it substitutes)
Could u imagine if Terence could be on JRE... shit would be more hype than a Beatles reunion
JESUS CHRIST WILL MAKE YOU PAY FOR YOUR SINS!
jpsplat ...Joe pulled off the interview tho...If it was my dumb ass id of asked him about Terrence the whole fuckin time.
Jeff Goldblum Who is sinning? Dont give jesus a bad name jewboy
Mac Gruber haha
it's happened already, somewhere
I was at a very high end pain clinic, and when I got back to the resort every evening, I started researching Kratom and then I ordered some. I was on some heavy narcotics, and so was everyone else at the clinic. It worked so well for me, I ordered a shit load and handed it out for free to my fellow patients. The health care people had never heard of it, nor wanted to hear about it.
One guy I gave it to was on a couple hundred ml. of Oxycontin. The day after I gave him a batch he came up to me almost in tears, he was blown away by how well it worked. Everyone I gave it to came back with the same story.
That's awesome man how you doing now
And I don't know if I buy that cuz if they already have pain pills in their system the kratom is not powerful enough to overcome what is in their system are ready and be effective now if they didn't have narcotics opiates in their system and used it then sure I could see it working I'm a heroin addict in recovery and when I did have heroin in my system Kratom did not work for me at all so I don't know if I buy your story not saying you're a liar I just don't believe that they would work when somebody already has a high dose of narcotic opiates in their system
Why was you at a high end clinic? Are you rich?
@@collybeans586 that's irrelevant so what if he was rich, they just made is bullshit. Refer to my previous comment

"Corporations run the world , governments are just puppets." BOOM

Their friends that own the for-profit prisons are wealthy. That’s their goal. They don’t give a damn about saving lives. They’re sociopaths driven by greed

// what do you bring back from salvia??? a profound appreciation for sobriety... lollll
Salvia took me out of this world. Mad as fuck, first ever experience with psychedelics and i had an OBE. Was fucking insane
Cybernetĩc gsǖs I took back that 3d vision of an environment outside of you is an illusion we all cooperate to maintain
"There is no bad drug"
meth users : 🕺
meth is overrated, not 1/10 as bad a alcohol
meth is only bad if ABUSED.
People who say "meth is only bad if you abuse it and use it too much etc etc..." clearly haven't taken enough meth to feel a true meth high lmao

Please have Dennis back on soon! He's so incredibly informative, his knowledge needs to be culturally recognized on a bigger scale.
Check out Terrence, Dennis's brother and his many books on psychedelics and on youtube you can find most of his interviews and hear him speak.

The war on drugs fills the industrial prison complex with more and more customers. That is part of the plan. So in that sense, it is a success.

no, its not. and dont use 'powerful' regularly as an adjective. you sound like a stupid roided out bald douche who smoked his first joint after the age of 40.

trolling? if you want to be a tool thats on you, im high af. but its a controllable high,. i dont have the tolerance of a 40+ yr old juicehead who recently discovered weed and psychadelics. still wondering if he had a life in high school. he would be way less annoying and probably ouldnt wear hoodies everyday and wear teenage bro shirts.
fuck is wrong with u lol
I had a nervous breakdown from it. Never been the same was a happy and ordinary teen guy just got my hands on what people think was laced stuff but nobody else had that reaction.
From what?
Hey man. Been there.
Hey yall, we're hosting Dennis McKenna in Minneapolis on Nov. 30th. He's moving to British Columbia, so we're giving him a grand farewell.
Please invite Ann Shulgin on the show. I bet she'd do it. She is 86, though, so hop to it. I wish Sasha was still around. Maybe have McKenna or a chemist join her on the episode.

How I compare addiction.....imagine learning to play guitar for 20 years....and then trying to forget how to play and never play again......
Perhaps the "war on drugs" ensures that prison systems and the drug cartelles remain profitable ....with ease.

glad Kratom is being talked about, I seriously think it saved my life
Enlightened Person kratom can work yo I agree with u
to be transparent, I completely advocate for the continued legality of this plant, and admit to its many positive qualities.

Sergio Alba Stay strong brother 👊
Taking Adderall and Vyvanse isn't a problem

I smoke weed everyday for 10 years short breaks, I wouldn’t recommend it but I’ve heard great stuff about mushrooms and lsd and DMT was cool really cool ha.
Bullshit let us live.

honestly, on the god trip there were moments when i had to relearn how to be a human, on salvia i had no control whatsoever once i was on the other side.
we smoked it, but the reaction was unbelievably quick, as in, you would exhale and then feel yourself falling through your body. i had a friend who said i stared at him as if I'd never met him, meanwhile i was in another realm entirely, it felt as if id woken in the backseat of a strangers car, while the driver spoke through the speakers, reassuring me that everything was exactly as it was meant to be and always was
