    I think running might help my Strava stats

    Would like to see more development from Strava, there’s a lot of suggestions on their discussion page that have been ignored for years. Adding metric to flybys has been requested for years and still no option. :(

    Possibly it's just semantics, but you don't need a desktop necessarily to add new gear (or create segments etc) I do this with my phone using the browser (chrome on Android) you just have to prevent it auto-kicking you to the app.

    I’m a big fan of Strava. Could you explain the hashtag that you used (pastemap?) I think that would be helpful but I missed something when you were talking about it. Lots of good info in this video, thanks!

      Sure. in the description of your run, add #pacemap #speedmap or #elevationmap to get a different look to the route map itself, but this is a premium feature!

    I'm have the paid version of Strava and totally love it but for the last couple months Beacon stopped working (doesn't notify my contact at all) all of a sudden. Nothing changed with my settings and since then got a new phone and it doesn't work either. Over a month ago I sent an email to their support and have yet to get a response. Thanks for the great vid!

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey so sorry to hear about that. I can't speak for strava, but with our own app, everytime apple or android does a major update, it can mess with the privacy and sharing settings that we had established.
      It just might be that a new major software update in your app messed with the regular working of the strava settings themselves!

  • @MomentForMovement

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great question and a maddening one! Remember, Strava is only displaying what the GPS device in your watch or phone records, and for better or worse there's always going to be a little variation even within the same run. For the most part, this should be no more than a few tenths of a mile tops. If it's a lot bigger than that perhaps your watch or phone auto paused for a while or lost GPS signal....

      @@matijazg5455 were you a strava user before already? Mine says it’s free until it asks me to log in, then it turns into the billing page :(

    • @matijazg5455
      @matijazg5455 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dfpcmaia yes, I was a user before. But what you're saying is OK, I'm also redirected to the billing page, but you don't pay anything. The bill is zero. This is common because this is subscription and they take your credit card number and automatically charge for the next period after the trial period is over. It is a common way how this works. You need to remember to unsubscribe on time.

    Is there a way to change the calendar from start of the week Monday to have my week start Sunday instead. I have yet to find how to do this. I also asked Strava themselves but they never answered. And I’m not alone in this question.

    • @TheRunExperience
      @TheRunExperience  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question Jeff! The place this would exist (if it does) would be under preferences (I imagine) in settings. If it's not there perhaps it's not built yet! Also, the preferences on desktop vs mobile are a little different so be sure to check both!

    Signed up to Strava a week ago (premium version). Shoe tracking was the first feature I activated. Negative point: in Runkeeper I can do the same and add mileage already done on the shoes, as how likely is it that my shoes are all brand new, on Strava I cannot. 👎🏻 Strava definitely shines with maps which is a lot of fun. Strava‘s definite strength is the mass of stats it throws at you. Though I am missing my cadence 🤔 or am I overlooking it? I feel it is more geared towards people who have their run training figured out and only need Strava to track and post it on social media or totally nerd out on the stats 🤓. For beginners who want more guidance and workout schedules Runkeeper is probably better (and cheaper).
