Oh god the music made me soil myself like when a epileptic see's flashing lights...please no more are you going to pay for my dry cleaning?? Huh huh these were my best superman pj's!
That afternoon breeze is the same along all warm mainland climates. We ran day sailing charters and we set our schedule to it. You also get an outrush of air in the evenings.
Cool episode and some great sailing there at the end! Surfing at 10 knots down the swell! Sweet! I've done that a few times and it's an awesome feeling when the boat accelerates like that! Lucky guy to be getting a massage on the beach! Well deserved I'm sure! By now, you guys have probably figured out how to do those beach dinghy landings. Best method I found in Mexico is to ride the back of the wave in front of the dinghy until it breaks onshore, then jump off and drag the dink! In Bahia Tortuga, they had judges on the beach to score 'landings' and I watched as a guy, his wife, his mother-in-law, and the family pooch got tossed out of the dink because they did it wrong, so the judges gave them 10's all the way around! Was hilarious!!!
Those yacht club people are really nice. In Mexico there are lots of scorpions but most don't even bite when you're holding them. Some do and give a sting ....which for most people is like a bad bee sting. Some worse. only bug that will kill you is the brown spider. Its brown. There's a really neat spider with multicoloured geometric evil patterns, and up to two inches across. Its harmless but does scare people nicely. I had lots. Still remember a lady friend...it wasn't the sex after all.
We're members of the modest Silva Bay Yacht Club on Gabriola Island. Most clubs are very welcoming to other yacht club members from far off places. Just call around with a smile and you'll likely be welcomed with open arms. Some required a letter of introduction from our home club. Berkeley YC, Elkhorn YC (Moss landing), and Monterey Peninsula YC were especially welcoming with zero fees and when room allowed, longer stays than listed as the limit.

And beautiful hummingbirds❤
There were dozens! It was fun knowing that some of them may well have migrated down from the PNW as we sailed down :)
That’s some serious wave action 😮
It got rowdy out there! It was amazing to watch.
That massage looked amazing!!
It certainly was!
Such a beautiful presentation, this episode was just amazing guys!
Thanks so much! There was a lot of footage to splice together, so we weren't sure what folks would think of this one, so we're glad you enjoyed!

Oh wow! Sounds like the music was very powerful for you! Hopefully you enjoyed the video sections without the tunes. Cheers!
After a decade or so Kate's going to have to come back and sail that 20 miles for her circumnavigation. That will be a fun rememberence trip.
That would be a fun thing to do!

We certainly found that. The cooling evening fog that would sometimes roll in was nice.

Thanks Wade! We had a ton of fun in that area so it was fun to make this episode and relive those memories. Cheers!

Check out Minny's in Newport Beach it's the largest used boat stuff on the west coast. I'm sure they will have a pole there!
We'll try heading there if we can't find one here in Mexico!
Fun hike! What YC are you a part of to get all of the reciprocals?! Sailing south in 2025 and would love to get some amenities along the way!
