Isn’t that the truth. I believe Goodwood is the closest we can get to going back in time for racing. Or a VSCC meeting.

Thanks Paul. He enjoyed racing and making films of racing. I think as a racer himself the whole paddock respected him and knew he would do a fair film.

Pure nostalgia. The early M1, Oulton Park without chicanes, and the crowd on South Bank. Wish I still had my BRSCC anorak.

The music is as much a part of the charm for me, especially the cha cha sort of sounding number played a few times through, including at the end of the big sports car race at Brands. Fantastic stuff.

I was one year old when this was filmed, but was out in boonies at Dingle Dell at Brands Hatch last couple of weekends, amazing how the track is basically the same, but theres either a lot more trees or a lot less trees depending on where you are.

Thanks for pointing out this video. Not only is our car in it, but your dad actually mentions our car starting at 18:19 "Parks helps to make a sandwich out of one of the back markers." That back marker is our car, driven by Pat Hovenden in a 1962 Elva MKVI, in Redstone Racing team colors (dark red with light blue stripe).

@@HamishRacing So who was David Roscoe? Other than your father? You said he raced until 1959 then started the films. Was it just for fun? Did he also film for a living? Was he partial to BRSCC? Was he always funny? Seems he liked to have fun with the marshals.
I wonder if he knew our man Pat Hovenden. Pat was known as a "gentleman racer" who did a Lotus 11, then the Elva, then an Atilla. Lots of BRSCC races. His family owned a company that made tiles (Redstone Tile) and he was on the board of a VW dealership.

A40 Farinas were very competitive. There was a very fast one that raced in the hands of George Armstrong at Westmead near Durban, South Africa in 1962 Mike Parks showing class beating Graham Hill and Innes Ireland
