Hi and a warm welcome to my classic and vintage car channel. This channel started out as a platform to share my in car racing films with Friends and Family but as with so many things it has developed as other enthusiasts have subscribed.
But recently I have decided to share the films my dad made of racing in the 1960's and 1970's typically vintage cars but also some period cars. These films were originally filmed with a (then) state of the Art Bolex 16mm camera and unusually COLOUR (color) film and the Company Roscoe films was formed. There are lots more to be converted to digital so PLEASE SUBSCRIBE so you don't miss out. These films are subject to copyright.

VSCC Club Film 1965 An original period full length film, Priceless grand prix cars raced and crashed
This is an original period Roscoe Films production of the VSCC club film from 1965.
see some amazingly famous and valuable cars raced and crashed like the 250f Maserati.
A unique history of club motorsport from the mid 1960's
sorry about the sound but it is nearly 60 years old - but the film is in colour a massive expense at the time !! any silence is due to copyright- whilst my dad got permission in 1965 we don't have the paperwork to prove it so the copyright holders won't allow its use without a fee so its silenced instead.
original 16mm colour film, dubbed in post production, as live sound was just too difficult and expensive to do.
a rare full length colour film to be found free on TH-cam
Happy Christmas and enjoy and subscribe

Quite the cheeky commentator for 60 years ago. Great footage. I especially liked the slow motion shots through the curves. Suspension geometry all over the place. Wider tires and huge improvements in understanding independent front suspension would be the order of the day in the next few years.

The owners of those 250 GTOs would be surprised if you told them their cars would be worth £50,000,000 in 60 years time!
Ford V8 in an E type. Cooper Chevy. Whuuu...?! Damn I miss racing in the 60s and 70s. Almost nothing off limits, and no matter how whacky it was, there was a class for it!
Oulton park was a wonderful little circuit, went as a kid 1964, saw jimmy and jack sears, Galaxie, minis, Cortinas, still remember the day vividly. Birthday treat, id just had my first Scalextric set. And being sick after a second milkshake.

There wouldn't be Stangs, e types , falcons, mini Coopers , Galaxies, Imps etc at a VSCC meeting. They were actually new in the mid sixties. The BRSCC meetings had those types of cars in period, now of course there's plenty of historic meetings, Le mans, Silverstone, Goodwood, Laguna Seca, that still include.thrccarsbin this film. question about the gearbox. It sounds like you're changing gears some times but you're not reaching for the gearshift. Is this a quirk of the mic or is there something I'm missing?
@@nvcnc hi. It’s a great observation. I have an overdrive on the gearbox. Which was quite common in the 1950’s through to the 1960’s especially with British sports cars. It’s like an extra half a gear that is operated by an electrical switch on my dash for my right hand. On mine it’s available for 2nd, 3rd, and 4gears. You can see it operated on some of my other videos. Just a slight flick of the finger with hand on the wheel
It would be good to find root cause. Either detonations (ignition advance or lean mixture) or too small ring gap. Anyway, good that you escaped quite easy. 👍
Too bad about the piston issue. Thanks for sharing this. I purchased a set of these (89mm Power Tune) and found issues right out of the box. The wrist pin slides too much. I measured .033" on the first one checked. Should be closer to. 005" for competition. Okay for street maybe. And the rings are not up to race spec items, especially the oil rings. I wonder what your engine builder thinks. I have been using an original set of 87mm factory Hepolite big bore cast pistons without issues and thought I'd try these 89mm Power Tune cast pistons. They are still sitting on the bench. Congratulations are due for your 2nd place results in spite of the engine failure. Keep up the great driving.
Love the humour by the commentator
Those Conrods should come with a triple X rating ! What a beautiful piece automotive excellence you have there 🥰.. for me it was a sheer joy to see the heart of the car, I mean it was clear from The sound it was no Friday night shed knock up. Such a pleasure to see carbs and no silly sensors ... Analogue always was best. 👍
@@mopedwilf2006 thanks 😁the rods aren’t that expensive and are great quality. Can’t stretch to forged pistons or billet crank for that extra resilience But it goes better than I drive hence 2nd in the championship.
Your kidding me ! Hey 2nd is no bad thing given what you up against . Honestly being a child of 60,s I just love proper engines ... It's why I failed miserably at academic subjects and became a mechanic . You never stop learning but my passion is working on 60,s and 70,s vehicles that occasionally pass through our hands .. still enjoy messing with timing , points , carbs , tappet settings etc and always volunteer to grind valves in on old heads . Call it therapeutic, just you the radio and grinding paste with proper hand held sucker !

Why would you flag a RACE CAR for being too fast ? That makes no sense to me.
@@terryhayward7905 it’s down to the marshals to make a safety call so cars don’t get to close and warn a driver of a hazard. The car in front could have spun or have a mechanical issue.
