yep. those apple IIGS machines were beasts..... lol. that wasnt a boom though that was a birth. the boom was toward the late 90s. when computers became usable to everyone, cell phones showed up on the reg, and the internet took off. i would say after about 2000/01 is when humanity lost its innocence. 80's and early 90's computer technology changed society in some ways but not like the turn of the century boom. it certainly didnt change the social aspect of it. it was truly the last age of innocence. no face time, no texting, etc. we are witnessing the first time in our known history that the world is connected in an instant. yes, i know about the phone and the telegraph you dont have to ask if ive heard of them. my mom had a cow bell on the back porch she would ring when i had to come home. if i was a kid today she wouldnt have that.

Gall ery Meh, I think he really doesn't like him especially for what Leno did to Carson and Letterman...and Conan....I tend to believe today's Howard Stern a lot more than 90's Howard Stern. The man doesn't need to shock anymore, he doesn't need anything. I don't know about his personal finances, but I wouldn't be surprised if he could just retire anytime. Most importantly, he doesn't rely on controversy anymore. He's just a great interviewer with a lot of opinions....which is great. I think that we should trust him when it comes to him disliking Leno. Maybe I just like to believe it's true because I find Leno to be incredibly boring and just not funny at all. (That's just a matter of personal opinion. It's fine if you like Leno and I know I could never be 5% as good as he is even if I don't like what he does. All I'm saying is, Maybe I have a bit of a bias.).

      A) Carson wouldn't have Stern on the Tonight Show, so now Stern is venting & Leno knew what is was getting when he booked Stern.
      B) Howard is a far superior interviewer than Jay. Leno is a better stand-up, but this ain't stand-up.
      C) Howard's top priority is entertainment & he doesn't have to care about what the executives at NBC think, but Jay does.

Howard's genius starting out was simply that he looked at the state of radio at the time, and said, "This is really boring." And all he did was attempt to make it interesting by playing around with the format and having fun with it -- which he did, big time! He took that formula and applied it to the talk show format, as well, which is what he is doing here. Can anyone name a guest on Leno's show other than Howard here who made it this interesting? To where you're slightly uncomfortable? To where you are glued to the screen watching all the fun unfold?

Jackie, Billy, Artie filled the show so it was always interesting and kept the flow going. Now it’s just Stern talking to Robin all show with Fred chiming in every once in awhile.
