    I’ve been addicted to video games since 2007 i was 11 yrs old. Now im 24 and i do play still but not as much as i used to. I used to spend literally my entire day daily! on video games because that distraction filled up the pain/fears about my reality.

    I'm 13 I used to be addicted to gaming I was so afraid that I would spend so much time on it I would wake up and be 20 with no memory of my life my dad is 38 or 39 and I wanted to spend as much time with him as possible than this video came along and I can do that now thank you

    How to quit game addiction. Look at successful people and analyze how they did it. Find long-term aspirations for yourself, set goals, plan rewards. Every day do something and tell family and friends what you did; ask them (really, ask them) to praise you for all little things you did right. Go chat up with people in the shops, get to know names, or even ask them out, seriously. Tell yourself life is like a game and when you seek pleasure outside the games, pleasure from the game becomes NOTHING, really. Gamify your life. Love, - A guy who was really addicted to games as a teenager but who is now leading a normal life -

    Great explanation on any addiction. The subconscious mind plays a big role in any addictions. We might not realize that we have some kind of fear or insecurity deep down inside of us. There is some work to for me to do in identifying what is eating me inside. Your work needs more exposure and needs to be shared.

      We can easily see wether something is an addiction or not. If we stop using or doing it and we keep feeling fulfilled, than we are using it out of free will, however, if we stop using or doing it and we start feeling irritated or restless, we are using it as a distraction from unsolved emotions (addiction).

    Can you manage a video game addiction without completely abandoning games? What I mean is can you recognize & manage your addiction while still playing games or would that be counterproductive? I play an MMO w\ clanmates, I'm invested, its a long term game, a second life on its own. I use it as escape from reality & its genuinely enjoyable (though habitual and addictive). Sorry if question is unclear. I would hate to abandon relationships (I consider my clanmates friends), and I have a feeling of accomplishment within game that I cannot get in the real world: is there an in-between, a middle ground where one can still play?

      How do you keep a hobby from becoming an obsession\ distraction after fixing the root problems? (Sorry for double post)

    • @alive-academy
      @alive-academy  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Grenn, thanks for your question. If you solve the root why you are addicted to video games would mean that you will keep feeling completely fulfilled independent of playing video games or not.
      If you are independent than you could play games as a hobby. If you solve all of your fears and pains, than there would not be any limitation anymore either to create in real life the fulfilment that you get from a virtual reality. And a virtual reality is nothing compared to experiencing life to the fullest in real life. If you haven't subscribed to the more in depth videos: www.alive-academy.com

      Everyone wants to know if there is a moderate way but the question is can you stop if you want to and is it making big problems in your life but you still dont quit . If the answer is No then you must quit 100% or not at all. Addiction is such that it always wants more and wont stop till it consumes you. Honestly you will have to come to a point where you see this second life as an obstacle to your happiness . The addiction has a way of warping your view so you view this 2nd life as something of real value and I know its hard to see it but in reality the value of it is way lower than it seems now and eventually you wont need nor want it if you struggle to quit and eventually succeed. I had the same thing with extreme porn -I couldnt see myself living without extreme fantasies -they were like my "friends" but Im begining to see it as something of way lower or no value at all anymore and I saw my perception of their value was warped by the addiction itself which does that to the mind.

    • @lavieenrose7925
      @lavieenrose7925 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Alive Academy isn't wrong, but as Socrates says, "Know thyself." If video games (your weakness) is (was) an addiction, then there's nothing of true value to be gained by just "teasing" yourself. Like any addiction, a drug addict isn't going to have just a little bit of drugs because he's been good and hasn't indulged in a long time. If someone is an alcoholic, the worst thing they can do is to reward themselves with a beer after a week of sobriety. You want to REPLACE those video game cravings with something else that will fulfill you and that's a healthy habit or activity

    Just find a gf guys and you will have no appetite for video games. When you find a gf you get to a state where you are concsious about the wasted time you wasted on video games. But don't quit the relationship and definitely don't play games. After you get close to the social world you basically lose the need to play vgames.

    Alive Academy- No offense, but I'm sure you realize that your video will anger a lot of people right now. With society and many other services shut down what do you expect people to do? That's NO excuse either, covid 19 is a tough reality for everyone!
    I'm 43 and video games are a daily part of my life and I love being a gamer more now than ever. In your video you imply that people use video games as a distraction to masquerade their real issues, this is definitely NOT me! Do you really believe that companies like Ubisoft, Activision and Bethesda spend millions of dollars to create lies and deception on a physical disc? God help you if you do! Gambling and alcoholism are far, far worse addictions than video games!

      There is nothing wrong with playing video games. You only are addicted to f.e. video games, if you stop and you start feeling restless, irritated, bored or angry, and start to look for some form of distraction.

    • @GamerKing-gb5lj
      @GamerKing-gb5lj 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ya but how you was putting it. it was like just cuz you play video games you will always have a bad relationship if not with your family then with your friends and if not with them then with your lover but addiction is just something that happen when you feel the need that your live isnt going the way you want to or the way you think it should go
