Attacking the Gray Fox (the most infamous and wanted thief in all Cyrodiil) and getting a bounty for it while being ATTACKED by a guard who has the opportunity to capture him and doesnt bother is peak Oblivion
He honestly expected for the guard to go after the Gray Fox when he turned around, not examine the player's body. As if, he was thinking "Wait, that's the Gray Fox. I'll make Captain for this."
Oblivion was something magical. It had serious flaws but there's just something irreplaceable about it. Maybe it's because it was the first truly open world game I ever played.
Because the foliage is beautiful and the world is not built to service the player, it's built for the player to actually roleplay in. It's outdated now but if cyberpunk2077 had this level of depth, it'd probably be loved by everyone.
@vincev4630 Yo they made a New version of it uesing skyrim's mod Engine it's called Skyblivion bruh comes out next year on PC.#Basically old school Oblivion just got a 2024 upgrade#For thing in it.
3:04, a guard arrests you for assaulting the Grey Fox, a man who’s wanted all across Tamriel, and would rather kill you for resisting arrest than arrest the grey fox.
You see, there’s a reason the DLC about the Daedric Prince of Madness was for this game and not the others. The game was already Madness from the beginning.
8:07 After witnessing the fist-fight between the jailor and the prisoner, him committing the crime and getting teleported to the centre of the room already in absolutely slayed me. 😂
Even with all this hilarious stuff going on, the Oblivion OST just about always puts me in the right mood. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve taken a hot bath during a panic attack with this OST playing, and it really puts me at ease. One of the greats. 👍
I love that this clip makes Jeanne look like she's so terrible at conjuration that her Summon Daedra spell backfires and the Spider Daedra isn't bound and starts attacking the guild.
Decades later I'm STILL laughing at the awkward ,"Oooooooh, I'm gonna fight you! Put up them dukes, put em' up!" unarmed fightin' pose that EVERYONE knows XD
the moment at 2:04, i could perfectly imagine a script: Mirisa: *Well met! Player: *Ah yes, very relaxing*
Love the lack of context flaming cows dropping from the sky promptly followed by the quest log proudly proclaiming Sheogorath before vanishing, really sells the scene.
A new "before bed" video. Sleep will have to wait on a daily basis. A very tired morning will follow from now on, as it was meant to be. Carry on, citizen.
Thanks for this; so entertaining! I played Oblivion and Skyrim - and still play them because....well you just uploaded a few of the reasons! Thanks again.
I just love this game…The artwork, story, music, and everything was just appealing to me, as I used to be heavily interested in medieval times way back when. This just put my fantasy into almost reality, and overall it’s my favorite game ever… Started to play Morrowind, and it’s been rough getting into it as much as I was into Oblivion, but honestly idk what it is about old games, but I just really enjoy them more. For some people, they prefer Skyrim over either of the two other elder scrolls games, but for me, the older graphics, gameplay, and storytelling is just more interesting than the newer games. Especially with Morrowind, where you actually have to look back and search for your quests in your notebook that has tons of notes/information to look back on, which was so much more immersive for me. I guess I just don’t like the more “realistic” looking graphics too. It’s very odd to describe as I am just getting back into playing the f**k out of these games, but either way, I’m never going to leave the elder scrolls series. The series and Bethesda company have a special place in my heart… Fuck I’m a nerd, lol.
I feel the same, and I thought it's just a nostalgia, but having a lot of recent gaming experience I'd say no, it's the way Morrowind and Oblivion were created - they are complex and wholesome. Morrowind main theme still gives me the chills, after all these years. I come back playing Morrowind from time to time and it's still a great experience.
yeah man ive peen playing oblivion non-stop its my favorite elder scrolls for sure. Im also planning on beating morrowind too. For me though I loved the artwork of oblivion and above all the combat, being able to use a 2h/1h sword, magic, and block all at the same time is something cool and also something skyrim cant do. I love how in each elderscrolls the mechanics and skills are always completely new so you never get a stale experience, and each game is good in its own right.
To make up for the lack of graphics or gameplay, devs had to invest in good storylines and well written characters. These days it feels like the meat and potatoes are the graphics. Everything else is just an afterthought.
"there's no need to get violent"

Oblivion was something magical. It had serious flaws but there's just something irreplaceable about it. Maybe it's because it was the first truly open world game I ever played.
And it didn't have nearly as shitty controls or combat mechanics compared to the earlier ones. All in all a great game.
