For me 'Representation' is a difficult problem to deal with cos it has lots of meaning.
Representation of colour, religion, sexuality, gender or labels to be short
vs
Representation of experience
And you are so right about the Miles Morales example, I got called a racist because I refused to call him 'A Black Spiderman'. I get genuinely mad when people overlook what is an amazing film, Miles Morales is a great character and the fact he is black should not be the main draw for representation, it should instead be that his experience and own personal character portray a really really good story first and foremost. They didn't make 'A Black Spiderman' they made a great character full stop. I don't want black characters, I want well written characters who just happen to be black.

I agree. It matters, but shouldn't be forced. It shouldn't be a character trait either. What Disney is doing is pandering for the sake of money LBGT=money POC= money, they don't care if the character is grey, they just do it cause it makes money. A good example of a character who is black, but isn't only the black kid is Kilik Rung of Soul Eater.
