You forgot another CN show. The main antagonist named Master Frown and his best friend later boyfriend Brock were both confirmed gay in 2020. Not only that, their whole "friendship" gave off major married couple vibes. Heck, one of them even mentioned they kiss every night. The show is called Unikitty btw (underrated) but no worries.
You forgot a character I was desperately waiting for this whole video, which was Stephen from Alpha Betas, the writers behind the show confirmed a long while ago that he was gay and attracted to one of the main characters
@@suspiciousstar7547 I was gonna comment that, but yeah, I wrote a whole thing on them in the last video’s comments that you responded to and I’m sad that they still didn’t make it in here, especially since they’re explicitly queer and romantic in their relationship on screen unlike a lot of representation on here :( they’re a really special couple that I hoped would get more awareness for how ahead of their time they’ve been for MLM/gay rep in cartoons, even for Cartoon Network. There’s even fairly accessible resources to get footage of them from, such as TH-cam compilations and pirating websites. This is a big video, and for one person I’m sure it was a lot to work on, but I just really hoped my comment would have prevented them from going under the radar is all,, it’s not very serious though! It’s just a video and I still enjoyed it nevertheless :]
@@starscrambled That's one thing I love about that show. Master Frown and Brock's whole character isn't stereotypical or just them being "gay". Their identities are just a beautiful part of them, like every part of a person. It's a trait, not a personality which why I felt their representation was so iconic to me. And you are 100% right on them being ahead of their time :) Also, the two main ships in the show Foxodile and Frock are both represented wonderfully. Although one is straight and one is gay, the writers do a fantastic job on both of them. What kind of relationship they have (het or gay) doesn't affect it in any way. Their genders don't get in the way on which one is better because both of them are unique in their own way. No stereotypes, no lack of originality, just pure cuteness. Not only just them, they also showed a lesbian couple of space rockets, Bim Bom shown on screen kissing a female character and being interested in a boy meaning that she is either bi/pan, and don't get me started on the amount of cross-dressing in the show XDDD. And these were just the things shown on-screen :]. These are not including the headcanons. As a Foxodile and Frock shipper, I approve this message.
I'm happy that a lot of shows are adding LGBTQ+ characters. It's a step to help make LGBTQ+ people and relationships more normalized in the future, instead of straight and "only 2 genders" constantly be shoved down our throats.
Cis gender people identify with the sex they are born with. Trans gender people identify with the OPPOSITE sex. People who are nonbinary don't identify with either This concept predicates on the concept of 2 genders. Intersex and hermaphroditism is sex, not gender. Ergo, 2 genders.
It would be nice to put the links in the description of the places that the character's sexuality has been confirmed if it hasn't already been confirmed on the show, as some seem more like your headcanons and it would be more informative that way.
i can confirm that none of these are my headcanons, and i prefer not to clog my description with links and sources, unless somebody asks about the source for a certain character, which i then give them the source in a seperate comment. if you object to a character being on this list, please comment or do your own research
I was sitting here thinking: "I wish they would include Tweek and Craig but they probably won't" THEN YOU DID UTS THREE IN THE MORNING AND I AM FILLED WITH HAPPINESS TYSM ❤️
it never clicked in my head that clyde in the loud house had two dads and that luna liked girls, it never seemed bad in any way to me and i never pointed it out ever but looking back at it its so sweet that i never saw lgbt+ characters as bad :) especially in the fact that i am unlabeled now, my gender feels more neutral, i'm more attracted to women, and my pronouns are they/them
i feel like a couple of these shouldnt be included if it shows bad representation, but other than that im glad we got rep in some cool lookin shows :] edit: if you see "Science Bear" in the replies, ignore him. all of his replies on this video are the same thing. don't waste your precious time talking to a wall lmao

Ik, it’ll be kind of different subject and maybe out of nowhere but: I think we don’t see enough mlm relationships in cartoons and there are more wlw relationships than mlm relationships. I don’t wanna be misunderstood, I’m so happy to see wlw relationships on the screen but when it comes to mlm, it’s either happening on the background or it’s really represented like really close best-boy-friends. Wish we had more iconic mlm relationships in cartoons like lumity and Princess bubble gum & Marceline
As a gay dude I know most of the reason. *Society’s view* Gay men as hyper sexual people that can’t be marked towards kids Lesbians as awww 🥺 but invalidated about their sexuality AND STILL FETISHIZED FOR IT. but basically company’s are fine advertising WLW because of the “Awww 🥺” But for men they view their love in a physical and lustful? Way. And it really creeps me out coming from an Ace/Gay dude who doesn’t want sex. Like when I told my dad that I’m gay he called me a “seggsual pervert” and I was sitting there like *A sausage mc muffin* And my mom didn’t even defend me either so she even subconsciously agrees. She was even nodding to what he was saying. It’s disgusting how gross so many straight men and especially straight women view me. (Not all, not most, but enough).
the biggest reason i think it’s rather rare to see specifically gay men, whether it be cis or trans, is because people view gay men as the more “sexual” type yk… like everything about being a gay man is just sex sex sex when it’s really not… i’m a gay guy and feel so underrepresented in media and it’s AMAZING that a bunch of others in our community is getting representation too but yk… if gay men got more representation based around just love and respect rather than “i wanna bang with that male character because i’m gay” in adult shows then it’d 100% help with homophobia or something…
We really need to stop championing Voltron for it’s gay rep because it’s fucking terrible, and giving the creators what they wanted in the first place is a bad idea which will lead to them creating more bad lgbt rep. It’s like a viscous cycle and the only people who win are the corporations and executives
@@polishalastor142 I’m not saying it was forced, I’m saying to stop applauding people who think "bury your gays" is good rep and openly lie when the lgbt community tells them they suck.
@@recycledideas4261 Bury your gays is a trope used commonly amongst homophobic writers ( and before you ask, yes the creators of Voltron were extremely homophobic and constantly abused their lgbt+ staff ) in which creators kill off their gay characters and only them simply because they’re gay. It’s like when the black character always dies in a horror movie, they’re implying that marginalized people aren’t allowed to have happy endings but pretending to be diverse.
yasss another "lgbtq+ representation in animation" video! i'm glad this kind of content keeps evolving as more representation keeps being portrayed in more series, some videos from other channels are already old regarding this topic so it's refreshing to watch a new video with new characters!

Love that you put Tweek and Craig! I also would have added Mr Slave, Big Gay Al and Mr Garrison. South Park has a surprising amount of gay characters! 🥺❤️ But otherwise this video is super nice, I'm a bit older so I'm not familiar with most of these cartoons so it's super cool to see the increase in gay rep in cartoons!
Fun fact about the Hey Arnold scene: Back in those days the network wouldn't allow any mention of him being gay. So during the Thanksgiving episode we could tell what was happening with Mr Simmons what was NOT being said. (His mother trying to set up her son with a woman, despite him having a boyfriend.)
Honestly same, I love gravity falls and I was so happy when I finished the series and found out that Durlan and Blues where gay (even tho the signs where all there already😂)
Woah, woah, woah. I never got the chance to see Amphibia, but I plan on it. How come nobody ever made a big deal about RuPaul voicing Mr. X??????? Also: I will protect George from Craig of the Creek for the rest of my life. I WILL SHED BLOOD FOR THE LITTLE BUTLER MAN AND NONE OF YOU CAN STOP ME.
@@Sp3ctralI yeah, it’s a stereotype I’m not too fond of either. Like, yeah, gay ‘flamboyant’ or effeminate men exist, of course, but a man being feminine does not immediately equate gayness. Although tbh most of the guys in this video aren’t like that.
@@Sparkletta which I’m happy about, in some other video, I found a comment talking about how, it’s really cool to see characters who just act like average people, and just so happen to be gay, not some crazy over the top characters. Fun fact: The Harley Quinn series version of both Riddler and Clock King have recently been confirmed to be gay, which is amazing for me, because I've been saying Riddler is gay for ages. I would love to see a video with him in it!!!
Riddler always seemed a little fruity to me.
It warms my cold gay heart to see so much more representation for mlm in the media.
You should redo this series again but for video games and anime, eg; ‘gay characters in video games’, ‘bisexual characters in anime’ etc. There’s a lot more examples of LGBT characters in these forms of media because they aren’t usually censored due to being aimed at children
Yea like ivankov from one piece
Yeah! You could add so much characters from the Dragon Age series. Actually Lacklon and Roland could have been in this video since they are from the animated show Dragon Age Absolution.
I’m a gay trans guy so seeing a gay trans guy in a cartoon makes me happy I’m talking about Dead end paranormal park
Fr, i'm a trans guy (not gay) and i loved Dead End representation, Barney represents transboy comunity very well
Also as a gay trans guy, I really wanted to like this show, but sadly I just couldn't get into it. I really wish we could get some trans representation that didn't involve a bunch of drama over dysphoria or disapproving family members.

fun fact if yall didnt know, blubs and durlan are canon boyfriends as well, so not only are they gay they're together to! alex couldn't show it though bc it was the 2010's and gay people r nono for disney
They do get one moment in literally the final scene of the show show where they say they love each other, but that's all

And you are 100% right on them being ahead of their time :)
Also, the two main ships in the show Foxodile and Frock are both represented wonderfully.

Ik, it’ll be kind of different subject and maybe out of nowhere but:
I think we don’t see enough mlm relationships in cartoons and there are more wlw relationships than mlm relationships.
*Society’s view*
Gay men as hyper sexual people that can’t be marked towards kids
Lesbians as awww 🥺 but invalidated about their sexuality AND STILL FETISHIZED FOR IT.
but basically company’s are fine advertising WLW because of the “Awww 🥺”
But for men they view their love in a physical and lustful? Way.
And it really creeps me out coming from an Ace/Gay dude who doesn’t want sex.
Like when I told my dad that I’m gay he called me a “seggsual pervert” and I was sitting there like
*A sausage mc muffin*
And my mom didn’t even defend me either so she even subconsciously agrees. She was even nodding to what he was saying.
It’s disgusting how gross so many straight men and especially straight women view me.
(Not all, not most, but enough).

0:29 there's a reference to amphibia (hop pop) and my life couldnt be more complete
They knew what they were doing when they made mayor toadstool and toadie gay
the biggest reason i think it’s rather rare to see specifically gay men, whether it be cis or trans, is because people view gay men as the more “sexual” type yk… like everything about being a gay man is just sex sex sex when it’s really not… i’m a gay guy and feel so underrepresented in media and it’s AMAZING that a bunch of others in our community is getting representation too but yk… if gay men got more representation based around just love and respect rather than “i wanna bang with that male character because i’m gay” in adult shows then it’d 100% help with homophobia or something…
We really need to stop championing Voltron for it’s gay rep because it’s fucking terrible, and giving the creators what they wanted in the first place is a bad idea which will lead to them creating more bad lgbt rep. @@Riaah_love If you don’t mind, can you explain what “Bury your gays” mean?
@@recycledideas4261 Bury your gays is a trope used commonly amongst homophobic writers ( and before you ask, yes the creators of Voltron were extremely homophobic and constantly abused their lgbt+ staff ) in which creators kill off their gay characters and only them simply because they’re gay.
