Very helpful video, I have a 2012 mazda 3 with the same engine and the flywheel failed. I decided to replace it myself with help from my father even though I haven't done it before and saved myself hundreds in labour, cheers.
anthony beech thanks a lot for the feedback and for visiting the channel... I’d say the camera work takes a bit of time.. but it’s a great way to share for the DIY mechanic ...
I didn't notice to put the clutch oil back. Beside that, very informative video. It helped me a lot to make an idea about how should I do this job. Thank you. Greetings from Romania.
AMAZING. ITS AN ART. MANY THANKS FOR YOUR VIDEOS. I have to try to change mine on a 407 1.6 HDI. Your videos give us motivation and know how. Jee that engine has so many oil leaks .....Many Thanks Kevin
Excellent! It helped me tremendously lot yesterday in replacing the clutch on a 2010 Focus 1.6 tdci. It is a complete video for the clutch. Though, replacing shaft oil seals makes sense, when you invest so much work. It is also better to completely remove the shafts for safety and more room to work.
Needs an oil leak looked at never mind a clutch ,what a mechanic totally professional doing a job like that and filming it on his own good man well done
Amazing job, thank you for these informative videos. I'm looking to remove the gearbox on a 2011 volvo s40 with the D2 diesel engine. Do you know if i need to remove the sub frame or will there be enough room to slide it out? It's a 6 speed manual. Cheers.
If it’s an s40 petrol have a look at the Ford Focus video on the channel same engine and set up ... S40 diesel have a look at ford transit connect video same set up and engine.
Brilliant. Very informative. Thank you for your forethought. May I humbly suggest using a work light as a "fill light" to help with the contrast issues the camera has with the daylight/engine bay?
Nice 👍😀 I need to know next: how clean is throttle body of this kind of model and has it separate filter-element or particular fuel filter near by somewhere fuel tank at the bottom of the car?
I have the 2009 Focus 2.0 tdci cc is this basically same procedure as this 1.6 or is it completely different? Just came across your videos excellent work.
hello sir 3 questions for you- 1 is there any problem following you r silent videos- 2 Is even 1 of these videos specific to an sp1-ib5- in america an ty for showing a lot.
Hi Kevin. I am so glad I found your videos! Is it the same procedure for the 2005 cmax 1.8 TDCi ? If so I hope to refer back to your video while doing the slave cylinder this weekend 🙏 Much appreciated Craig.
askullinconnemara If you know your stuff pretty well. You’ll be looking at about 5 hours. There is one bolt between the gearbox and the exhaust. That alone will set you back about 40 mins ... happy to help with some advice
Hello Kevin. I'm stuck on the bastard shaft removal, it doesn't want to release from the housing like yours did in the video. When I move it slightly forward and back it is hitting something ? :/
Hi need to do mt partner's 1.6 tdci clutch.... do you have a video of taking the Acutal clutch of ?...this video just showed removing the gearbox or am i missing something?.Thanks
John Layda I think if anyone is gonna attempt to do this kind of repair they need to know how to install a clutch already... otherwise I can go very wrong. ..

todoran marius it should be very similar. But sometimes there’s slight discrepancies on the thickness of the pressure plate or the diameter. Best to go by the registration for the parts. But the fitting process is very similar

this is insane how much work is necessary only for preparation and later putting all together . BTW 19:00 there are easier ways! :D

This one looks a right Bastard of a job to me Kevin ... Well done and great informative Video
Does this has a concentric slave cylinder? If so how did you bleed it? Before or after you install the gearbox back to the engine?
So you need to drain the transmission oil or is it possible other way?
Great video! Thanks! When you removed the air box at 12:34 , there was a rubber pipe still attached? How did you disconnect it and what is it?
yoyo895 it’s just a rubber breather pipe. It’s only a fit in a small nozzle in the air box

How much cost cluch parts and how much miles has the car? My car has 203000km on single clutch, soon i must replace it.

It’s probably net getting past the C clip.

Least the bolts were easy to undo with the amount of oil that thing was spilling out the engine

Very true. I was quite pleased 😃 when I saw all the oily muck.
what jacking point do you use to lift the front axle?
Paul Negrea just the side seal or mostly centre of sub frame
@@WMCS is the subframe strong enough to hold the vehicle`s weight? I do not want to bend it..
Paul Negrea yes it is. But stay close to the reinforcement holes.
