When I was a teenager in the 70s, I used to babysit a family in Birmingham, and Alto Reed from Bob Seger’s band lived next-door to where I babysat.

Alto Reed took one of our dog’s puppies in the 70’s. Seger was big then and all the kids thought that was cool.
You missed the other Gilbert that lives here: Melissa Gilbert (Laura Ingalls actress) lives in Howell in a historic Victorian home.

Paul did mention he is a Detroit metro realtor, doesn't get away from the metropolis much. Sheltered city boy... Madonna owns a vineyard up in Suttons Bay, Kirk Gibson, and Dave Rosema have properties in Cadillac area, along with I hear Barry Sanders has a vacation home in Ludington. I would never live near Detroit, too many Islamist in the area for me.

No way, I go to college at Oakland university and I used to deliver pizza in Rochester. One day I delivered pizza to the Kmart mansion and I had no idea it was Eminem’s old house until now. I was blown away by how cool the house was. So crazy growing up listening to Eminem not realizing any of this hahaha

The Kresge family aka Kmart use to live on Lake Angelus. A tiny community in between Waterford and Pontiac. But the last remaining member died in the early 90's murdered by her husband. The entrance to the estate is off of Lake Angelus rd. From Baldwin rd to maybe .75 down lake angelus rd. On the Lakeside of course. But I believe the family sold the whole estate to the University of Michigan sometime in the late seventies early eighties.
We actually did share out rather large play structure for years. We even expanded it into our neighbor's yards because their kids used it all the time and we added more stuff to it.
Love that!! More people need to do that.
I've lived here in Michigan since birth, 42 years, I love my state, it's a beautiful place, especially during the fall. There are tons of good, honest, hard working folks here, lots of good fishing and hunting and all kinds of recreational activities to enjoy. There's wildlife everywhere, in the country, in towns and in cities, it's not uncommon to see a deer in the middle of town. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. It's no wonder why people wanna live here.

My brother went to school with him and what is cool is when he is visiting nobody treats him any differently then any other neighbor. Tim Allen lives on Orchard Lake Rd. in Orchard Lake. It's a huge glass house, as the locals call it. You can see it if you drive by there

Back in the 80's, when I worked for a local bank, I handled the mortgage paperwork for Bob Seger's home in Bloomfield Hills. Was over 1M and beautiful.

Before I saw this video, I thought he moved to California, as I heard him say that in an interview recently. But perhaps he moved back to Michigan, or maybe just wants a second home here.

I only know about Franklin because a friend of mine got married to a man with some wealthy family members in the area, and they had her bridal shower at the Tea Room in Franklin. It was like driving into a parallel universe briefly and then getting spat back out and onto Telegraph Rd. 🤣

Or Florida or New York. Those are other celeb favs I think. Still there are plenty of celebs I wouldn't want in my home state. And so far, none of them are. Sad Jack White no longer lives here though. I hope Michigan stays fairly short on celebs.

Early in Bob Segars career he also lived at Andersonville rd and Airport rd, Waterford Mich. People always think it was the Stone house on the corner ( which still comes into debate), it was actually the 2 story white house next door. If your lucky enough to be in Downtown Clarkston you may run into Bob Segar or Kid Rock. Franklin is tiny and has a great Historical Cider Mill.

I know where a lot of celebrities homes are growing up in Petoskey/ Charlevoix. I also currently live in Nashville and Kid Rock has his Nashville home right down the street from us. Loretta Lynn’s ranch is about an hour from our house and she is as sweet as pie! I love Ms. Loretta.

You missed Jeff Daniels...Jeff, wife and kids have lived in Chelsea Mi for years....sometimes, you can run into them at the grocery store.
I've ridden past kid rocks house multiple times without knowing, used to live not far. I also lived near dan gilbert and remember it being worked on. in fact my house at the time was built by Bob Wian of big boy restaurant fame (that house was only worth about 200k due to being problematic) and was nearby. then after that house, I actually lived in a house built by Luther Elliss back in the '90s. that one was in Oakland township near the corner of Adams and Orion road. since then my family has downsized dramatically and stopped chasing that life. and I moved north on my own to a friends farm in Leelanau county.

Me too, lived in Clarkston all my life, raised my children there. My husband also grew up there. My granddaughter lives there now. Had the best schools when we were growing up ( new math is what we were told ) 🧮
Bob Seger played at dances at Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, way before he hit big time, I'm happy for him and his band mates. Does anyone Remember the Crow's Nest at Harper Ave. and 13 Mile ? A friend and I met some rock types that went on to be very well known.
Definitely went to the Notre Dame dances back in the late 60's when Bob Seger, and band played on Friday's at least 1 or 2 times a month.👍

I used to date Iggy Pop back in his Stooges days. So I've been to the 'Fun House' (they named their 2nd album after it) out on Packard Rd. in Ann Arbor, quite a few times.

I had a house on Middle Straits Lake. Bob Seger lived the next lake over on Upper Straits Lake.
At one time I lived on Cass Lake and his manager lived on that lake too. We would regularly see the entourage on the lake.

Before the home you show here, I'm pretty sure Eminem's first known house after he got famous was on Hayes Rd. just north of Utica Rd. also in Clinton Township. Which is hilarious because Hayes is kind of a busy road, and you could clearly see his house as you drove by...not private at all.
It was Mark "the bird" not Larry Fidrich. Fort George was the drive-in. Michigan drive in was on dix. Bob seger used to play and band practice in Lincoln Park where I grew up.
I used to live down the street from Bob Seger’s Orchard Lake house for 23 years until a few months ago I moved to Charlevoix. Seeing his house from the road and the lake is unreal.
I just recently found out that Segar lives within 2 miles of my home, and now whenever I’m driving around -I’m lookin for him! 😂🤦🏾♀️

Been by bob segers house on upper straitwso many times. I used to go out on a boat there all the time! My parents used to go to his concerts for 25 cents a ticket when he used to perform at Farmington high school. Also went on a canoe trip with kid rock when I was little but didn’t know who he was at the time. My friends parents friends were close I guess. Lol

You can still get Rock n Rye, pop by Fago, at Kroger's, down here in the Detroit area and suburbs the majority of every party store, everywhere carries Fago. Fago, is still a big brand name around here and Vernor's is well liked too. If you get Vernor's why can't you buy Fago?

How do we define "celebrities"?
A few Detroit Pistons lived in Rochester Hills and Oakland Twp because the Palace was nearby, and I knew of a few Red Wings players who lived in Novi. The guys in ICP also had a place in Novi as well.
Uncle Kracker lived or lives in Harrison Twp, close to Lake St Clair Metropark.
Mitch Albom lives in Franklin. He may or may not be a celebrity. I mean, he did write a bestselling book that was made into a major movie.
Bob Seger lived in Portland, Oregon when I lived there. Saw all kinds of pics of him at charity events in the society columns of the Sunday paper.
I live in Orchard Lake Village ... less than 1000 homes here in the area just around the lake. You can sometimes see Bob Seger walking his little white dog ... and he will smile and wave if you do. Pretty cool place to live but there are some huge homes here with the "average" being pulled down by some of the older cabins and cottages still in the area. An empty lot if it is lakefront can easily set you back a million or more.

Jeff Daniels lives in Chelsea with his wife. Don Johnson has or had a summer home in Charlevoix. There is another famous singer from Jackson, but for the life of me, I can't think of his name at the moment.
Friend of mine from high school in Port Huron beat up Kid Rock outside CJ Barrymore's one night. This was long before he got famous.

Dan Severn lives in Coldwater..back 2010 I changed his oil on his minivan while I was working at Walmart tire lube express. Was a very nice guy from my experience..he also runs a mma gym and anyone could meet him there also 😀
I went to school with Rod severns which is Dan in Mark's little brother he actually broke my nose while we were playing soccer in gym they grew up in the town of Montrose where they went to school excellent wrestlers big boys

Bob Seger played at my High School,back in the late 60's..so did a lot of other bands that are now Famous..

My friend went to the Honda dealer in Traverse City for parts for his 750 cc Honda. He said that he just got there before the dealership was closing early on a Friday because they had a bike loaded on a trailer to deliver to Harbor Springs. It was a Honda Goldwing to go to Bob Segar's condo.

You missed Larry "The Bird" Fidrich. The famous pitcher of The Detroit Tigers. "The Bird" lived in an apartment in an apartment complex called "The Village Green" in the downriver city of Southgate Mi, off Trenton Road, between Dix and Fort Street. One block north within walking distance to Fort Street. Larry could walk two blocks to get groceries at the nearby Meijer store, which used to be the home of a HUGE drive-in movie site called The Michigan Drive-In Theater.
But, does he STILL live in Michigan?
I lived on Middle Straits Lake. His daughter once babysat for my grandson. He also once lived two doors down from my childhood home on Bogie Lake.

Ive done the plumbing on a few new custom homes for celebrities(and mega rich people and a famous architect) scattered around the detroit area. Including one on this list.
I hv not met Eminem, but a lot of people know he lives here. I Reside in Clinton Twp & work there.. Nice communuty with blue ribbon schools . You are correct about celebrity kids just want 2 live a normal life!
My son went to school with his daughter . When I volunteered or went 2 school functions, everyone just had a good time & was respectful & down 2 earth, I never knew who she was, my son mentioned it. Seems like he did it right! (raising his daughter).

I have run into who I would call a celebrity a few times. Brian Vander ark. Lead singer of the verve pipe in Grand rapids. Saw him at a Best Buy and again just walking down the street in Grand Rapids. I'm an old punk and grunge kid so he's a celebrity to me. I think he lives in Holland or Grand Haven area but not sure.

I used to drive by eminem's old house when he lived there. It was on my way to where I worked. It was cool. I didn't know Bob Seager lived here though so that actually surprised me and that's awesome i love night moves.
Joe Elliot the lead singer of def leopard had a place in the little town I live in called Vulcan,MI in the upper peninsula. It's not the biggest place but for around here it's unbelievable.

Madonna's dad owns a winery in Leelanau County. Unfortunately, her older brother is homeless and lives on the streets in traverse city.
Not so famous but rich is Billy Ford and sister Sheila Hamp. They have 1000 acres and 2 "cottages" in Wolverine. My dad worked for them. They are super nice. Billy use to ask my dad when he was going to buy a Ford. My dad would answer when they started making real trucks. They both laughed about it. When My parents home burned, Sheila brought my little sister a lot of cloths.
