The RWR appears to be a microcosm of the larger Inner Sphere chicanery, in that it perfectly encapsulates many people's summary that Battletech is more or less "Game of Thrones, with giant robots."
Game of Thrones is more accurately described as "Battletech but without the giant robots." Battletech even has dragons (the faction, the 'mech, and the xenofauna).
I second this sentiment. Sure, Tex, Critical Rocket, Sven, Big Red, and others have done the Amaris/Star League Civil War, but I always love hearing how others cover the history. Everyone has their take on it and hearing this from the RWR side of things would be interesting.
Wonderful. Not sure the detailed description of Amaris Civil war is really needed, but putting it in 5-10 minutes (contrary to 3 hours) and expanding on "what happened to RWR territories after" sounds like a neat idea. Newcomers would really appreciate this.
Make the next one. Every lore video I’ve seen offers something different and has its own take on things. It lets you see the story from several different points of view.
I would **not** be offended if it trailed off from here because what was covered was done so thoroughly and just portrayed the tone of everything happening so very well
Go for it. Yes there's a huge Amaris Civil War/ The Fall of the Star League video(s) out there (BPL) but a discussion of what happened to the Rim World's Republic after Amaris would be fascinating.
Personally I'm really enjoying this as I do your other videos. I think its fitting the story is finished in your style. I feel It would be jarring to have the start and middle your style and finished in someone else's. It's your channel and your time. Do what your passionate about, I'll still be watching.
I'm very much enjoying these historical surveys. Please keep it going. You can easily do two more sections: the Amaris Coup (through to the fall of the Amaris Empire) and the Amaris Heir (the attempted Amaris restoration after the Clan Invasion). Don't worry about whether or not someone else has already covered a topic. New perspectives and presentation styles are always valuable, and if the length of the video is similar to this one then it offers an alternative just from the standpoint of time commitment. IMO it's also good to have a more serious overview without all of the memes and hyperbole.
I'd like to see part 3 and as much onward as you have a desire to create. More variety in perspectives and presentation is rarely a bad thing and I always enjoy more good Battletech content.
More to come! btw, thank you for your membership. I wasn't able to get you into tomorrow's video recognition slide as it was already rendered and uploaded, but I added you for next time.
Just because it's been done doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. As an artist almost everything I just is just my own flavor of something that is already out there but that's part of what makes it worth doing.
Nah, keep going. I really dig your delivery and I don’t know who those other TH-camrs are. I’m also very interested in the various states especially the ones outside of the core.
Thank you so much for making this. It was far more detailed about the Republic than I had expected, and really serves to show how bad the Reunification Wars were. Makes me want to use my 🦈RWR mechs against some Kurita and Lyran forces in the future!🔥 I’d love to see a third part, if you can do it in a way you enjoy. Perhaps cover it just from the Republic’s perspective🤔, rather than focusing on Stephan Amaris - where he was and what he was doing - which I think most of us know.
Give us a part 3 or however many it takes assuming you want to cont to cover it. I enjoy your content & as I am currently thinking about needing to paint my mechs I will never get around to it or be happy with tye end result if I hold myself to the standard of all the amazing mechs I see painted up (yours included). Just give it your best & I'm sure we will enjoy it at the least it is more content & more practice for this growing channel.
Part 3 next week. I'm going to limit it to how Stefan Amaris's... kerfuffle... ended up impacting the Rim Worlds itself rather than the entirety of the Inner Sphere.
I like your take on things, and you don't have to be so hard on yourself comparing yourself to folks like BPL. They have this thing called a budget. If you're not confident covering the whole civil war, one thing that is very rarely talked about is the early years of Stefan Amaris, before Terra.
The point of these videos is to tell these stories in your own words. Don't worry about other TH-camrs, you started this narrative and now it's time to finish the story and by God do it with pride.
If we didn't know what came after, it would sound like Stefan was off to a decent start to hold the ship steady or continue the slow restoration after all the damage of the SLDF invasion.
@@MechanicalFrog I'm inclined to think that at some point after the SLDF started really gaining ground in the Hegemony, he realized his plan was lost, but I don't think he knew before then. I feel that by the time the SLDF deployed to Terra itself, he was fully trying to take them down with him or put them down before he went, but he would finally see he had lost, and evidently, he preferred being a prisoner over trying to deny a full victory.
Excellent video as always, would love to hear your thoughts on the Usurper's war. Also, small criticism: I think that your transitions in between the sections sound a bit flat. My suggestions to fix this is either 1) Let silence hang over the area, or 2) find a different way of saying it. Look forward to part 3. Cheers!
I have this character I've been chewing over in my head for my own mech force. A bit of a joke on a neo confederates from the modern day, basically a pirate queen who's from a bastard Ameris line that survived to the dark age.
I think it would be neat if for part 3, instead of looking at the entire civil war, you focused on what was going on within the RWR when it went down. Like, instead of doing part 3 on amaris, you looked at the Republic itself
sorry if this is a weird place to ask questions about 3d printing, but i figured id give it a shot. im a big fan of your work. your prints are very crisp and very impressive. ive previously asked you whioh printer and settings you use and you told me youre running an elegoo saturn. i just found a Saturn "S" model online for $100 and im pretty sure im gonna buy it. it appears to be just a slightly upgraded version of the regular saturn. what are your thoughts? should i go for it? im currently rrunning an anycubic photon S and my results are nowhere near as awesome as yours, much lower resolution. thank you for all your hard work

I'm so excited to hear about the rest of the periphery I'm inclined to say skip it but there's something about leaving a story half-told right....If your plan for all this is "full short histories" then you gotta tell it. If your plan is "historical origins" then I'd say skip it. Newcomers would probably appreciate a full history. I can't imagine what it's like trying to find your way into the lore from scratch. The periphery isn't covered in the box set Primers.
The only thing that I'd say that if you don't want to cover the rest of it because it's been done to death so to speak by people who have done a very good job of it, is to just link one of those videos in the description and call it a day
Always happy to see more vids from you, but I think I'd rather see something new. Not that you couldn't do the civil war justice but it's been covered by plenty of people, but actual breakdowns of the other periphery nations is something seriously lacking. Circle back to the civil war later. A short, concise summary would be nice to have (nothing against Tex but 3+ hours is a lot) but I'd rather see you cover something else first
I think, due to feedback, I will do a third video but focus mainly on how it impacted the Republic words themselves rather than trying to do all of the civil war.
It’s always fun to hear a different spin or perspective on a lore event. You shouldn’t feel held back just because someone else covered it already.
Fair. Thanks.
Please keep doing literally anything you want on Battletech. Your presentation is amazing and a delight to listen to.
