You can expect water typically into late spring, and probably a lot this year! We just managed to come thru after some thundershowers, which refilled the creek in August. I'd heard the creek was dry about a week before we passed through.
Rode High Rock canyon 5 or 6 times now. June of 2023 was the wettest I’ve seen that crossing. It’s a chunky rocky bottom so no worries of getting stuck, you definitely get bounced around a lot though. Just kinda got to let the bike work its way through, stay loose and let the front tire wander a bit. None of the crossings are bad, 0 concerns about sinking a bike, but you’ll definitely come out with wet feet. During a wet year, like that June, the first few miles of the trail on the north side you’re basically riding in the creek for stretches.
No fuel stops. The only available fuel is in Gerlach, so you'll need to plan ahead to do the entire route. More info about the route and GPX file is available at our website.
Best blackrock video i've seen by far. Keep up the good content and you'll end up on top in some time.
Awesome filmwork and narration. I like how you incorporate some knowledge and education about the area and its geological features into your video.
awesome
Epic, some of your finest work, great Drone work
Great job on your video. I'm out there all the time.
For the wagon trails you passed a lot of them but didn't mention them
Great video!
We explored that area in January several years ago. Great country but need to watch out for winter mud. We had cold weather and not much mud.
That mud in the Great basin is the devils clay I tell ya!
That looks like one hell of a water crossing at 14:23. Is that seasonal/temporary? How would it be on a bike?

@@OverlandTrailGuides Thanks! Trying to find good options for a trip with the heavy snowfall.

Nice video! What are the odds that the cabin and camps are empty? Thought they would have ppl....
