How I Slay My Cheap Synthetic Wigs

- Hey babes! Today we're finally doing one of my most requested videos, how I slay an affordable synthetic wig from start to finish. As you know, I've been rocking with my real hair a lot more lately but wigs still have my whole heart. I went ahead and bought a simple lace front wig for about $30 to show you how I do all the steps of customizing and applying it. You know I love a deal so basically all my wigs are around this price range. All the steps are fairly simple for anyone who's even just getting getting into wigs. I'm by no means an expert but I try to make them pop as much as possible. You can apply these same steps to any affordable lace front wig of your choosing. I needed a wig for a kurt cobain costume at halloween. It needed to look convincing, as my friends always put maximum effort into their costumes.
So I bought a long blonde wig and cut it shorter myself and made it look more realistic, using tips from videos such as this one.
Sometimes I go to rock clubs in london wearing wigs now lol

If you plucked to much, gather some of the loose strands and fold in half, thread the loop formed through and back up around the lace strands, place the ends of the folded strand through the loop and pull tight. You have just made a lark's head knot and fixed your wig.

I shaved off my dreads, and actually love the buzz too!!! But would NOT have done that if it wasn’t for the courage from available wigs.

I love how you go through every little detail of how to install a wig. Most TH-camrs that do wig installation videos, when they talk about plucking the wig, they don't actually show you how to pluck it. Thanks for this very informative video. @@diannabarfield8487 - Hello. Sorry for the delay in responding. Thus far my friend is doing fine. She has had her 3rd chemo treatment. She went ahead and had her head shaved because she was loosing patches of hair. She has purchased an assortment of wigs and I brought her some new wigs to try which will be donated to who ever needs them. She is upbeat, positive. She has had some rough times with sleep and meds but is a trooper. Her hubby and friends are all there for her 24/7. The one issue that alarms me is she is a former smoker and for some time has been vaping. This discovery of uterine cancer has Not pushed her off of vaping. I don't say anything but just wonder. sentarra Silva I know I’m a little late on this comment, but I have been wearing wigs almost everyday for around 2 years. The 2 places I get my wigs are from wigisfashion. I usually get lace front or fashion wigs with bangs. The other place I get my wigs from is AliExpress from a shop called Anogol. They have super cheap and great quality lace fronts! I hope this helps.
I am new to wigs, and I like fun colors. I've bought 2 from butchered boutique, I just got 2 from uniwigs, and they're super nice, but they were expensive. And a couple more from random places that weren't wearable really. I may try making my own with bundle hair.

This is probably the most helpful wig styling video I've found on TH-cam (and I've viewed A LOT of them!) Multiple surgeries caused my hair to thin noticeably so I've been trying to learn the best methods to make cheap wigs look natural on me. I especially appreciate your tips on making the hairline and part look more "organic" and shaping the sides to curve more naturally around the face. Thanks so much for making and posting this!
Thank you so much for this. I love the look of wigs and amazing colours and styles that just wouldn't be possible to do frequently on natural hair. However, making a wig look good and not like a costume piece felt like it was going to be intimidating. This has absolutely given me the confidence to start playing with them.
This is actually really helpful I have recently bought a similar wig same length and style just a more reddy brown ombre style. But I haven't worn it as I didn't really know where to start to make it less wiggy. Thanks for the video!

Most other you tubers would put the wig on and cut the lace and usually pluck the parting so you can see how it's done. Try a black channel. As they do everything with the wig on.
the hair line look a little bit too big or is it just me? that's how i can tell it's fake otherwise it's looking pretty

Why don't they just cut most of the lace off when they make the wig?
I believe some people like a little more lace in order to glue the wig front down, then they put foundation/concealer on the lace. So companies leave it all so you cut to your own preference

I do everything I can to keep my "baby" hairs from flattening to my head and the back of neck. I like mine to look fluffy.
