Dusty is truly a rare breed. You two are awesome and so good together. 🥰 I wish I'd have raised my son more like that instead of always doing it myself that is truly a disservice.
There is so many great things this beautiful family talks about, it can be overwhelming in a good way, I started cleaning my space right away : ) i am very inspired by your videos, so thank you. You know one of the greatest things you can do for your children is to make them feel they are a decisionmaker in and around the home like yourselves. By making them feel like a task at hand, big or small, was their idea from start to completion, the love you get from them will grow tremendously. When they have that feeling of having achieved, and get to revisit it, that's when they grow.
I use baking soda, vinegar, Doterra oils & Epsom salts for all my cleaning in and out of the house and plant based laundry detergent. It's a great feeling to know you aren't polluting your home or the earth.
I love essential oils for cleaning house and body. I even use essential oil enemas and essential oil suppositories.

@Wendisue Did you use the oil in a carrier oil like olive oil or sesame oil? Did you use 100% therapeutic grade essential oils like doTERRA?

I use just vinegar soaked in orange peels for at least 2 week then mix it with water and boom. - cheap & toxin free all purpose cleaner 👌
Better a creative mess than tidy idleness. I learned this advice as a young mom of 2 active boys. It helped ease the anxiety that would build when things got quite out of order LOL. As far as a day of rest, there are different schools of thought, some practice the 7th day noted in the 4th commandment. The day is handled a little differently than the other days. Thanks for all the great content. You have a lovely family. 🌿

You're truly blessed to have such beautiful and awesome husband..my husband expects for me to do everything..I stopped doing what I did when we first got married..he barely even sweeps..and I'm one of those OCD cleaners but it hard when the other half don't help out..🤷🏾♀️

Same, I used to cough everytime I cleaned the bathroom from the cleaners. Used masks and gloves too. I use all natural cleaners now for over a decade and I don't need to worry about fumes or using gloves.
You must, must, must, get yourself a good professional squeegee! I had a home in Florida that was all windowed, and I was always cleaning them with different methods, and most of the time the sun would shine in at the end of the day, and they would be all streaky. My son got me a professional squeegee, Unger is a good brand, and it was a huge game changer! So fast, and squeaky clean, never a streak! Now I work as a housekeeping supervisor on a huge campus and people comment all the time on how clean all the glass is!
Great video! Love the more “real life” DITL type videos. Nothing fancy needed, just sharing what actually happened that day. Love the normal day to day mundane tasks that we all have to do.
Definitely recommend picking something to do around the house each day is very helpful. I used to leave it for one whole day and then my day is gone. So I started planning better and now I feel less anxious & overwhelmed when it comes to cleaning the house.

Another great video, you guys really inspire me! I love the points that you make about the importance of not doing everything for our kids. Sometimes it just seems faster to do certain things myself but when I start letting my girls (1.5 year old twins) do little tasks themselves I am so impressed by how fast they learn and how eager they are to do things themselves!
I love how you both are so real. I feel sometimes messes have to happen to be able to create, but I also think cleaning up your mess has to happen. Love watching your videos. Have a great Florida day!!!

I had to let go of my "ultra clean and neat" mindset when I got dogs lol. I try, but it's a constant battle to keep floors clean and I vacuum or sweep pretty much daily. I have switched over to "clean" cleaning products so at least I feel better about that! I plan on checking out Branch Basics too!

The Legos being dumped all over is a daily here with our boys (almost 6 and 9) 😂 BUT they know they gotta clean it all up. They help with laundry, vacuum etc. and yes, it’s great knowing all the cleaning products are completely toxic free!! 🌿 🌸
We have storage in our basement. When I put something on and I am not feeling the piece of clothing I put it in the basement. I do the same for kitchen supplies. I do a quick check once in awhile to see what I am not using. I put it in a box in the basement. Every 6 months I declutter or sell all of the things. 😁💕

Another fantastic video Erin and Dustin. Branch basic sounds like a good brand. I use a uk brand called smol for laundry & cleaning products which doesn't contain any of those unwanted chemicals as well as being single use plastic free. Love 🥰 the video and love 💕 the family.

We just did a gut renovation in Sarasota. We have all new pipes and, like you guys, have opted for a clean & simple style.
What water filtration system did you go with? I heard you say in this video that you did an RO system (presumably for drinking water), but did you also do a whole house softener/filter? The municipal water here in SW FL is a real challenge
Branch basics, puracy and dr. Bronner’s are the 3 best cleaners. They get the best grades from EWG. Anything else that claims to be safe and natural is full of bad chemicals and endocrine disrupters. Yes that means the Method brand, meyers, eversping and 7th generation. Now if that’s all you can afford to use then great! But you’d be better off using vinegar.

Do you guys have a tried and true strategy for keeping fruit flies away? Do you find that it's an issue with all of the fresh produce? I'd love to see a video on that, if so! We deal with fungus gnats in the summer, and I'm constantly swatting at them with a towel because I can't stand having them in the house. I have tried various things, just not sure which works best yet.

Also being an all natural and organic vegan, vinegar and baking soda - plus my mild and eco-friendly dish soap - is all I ever use. I’m different tho with hand sanitizer. I’m an obsessive hand washer and I carry little spray bottles of alcohol with me everywhere I go. It’s NOT that I’m a germaphobe; it’s that I’m a GRIMEaphobe. I absolutely can’t handle dirty hands - and mostly that of OTHERS. 😬 I would continue eating my apple if it fell on the ground - and I get plenty dirty when working outside or out in nature, but the thought of putting my hand on a public doorknob or kiosk makes me want to throw up. 🤢
