You do realize that he indirectly killed Jax, Sonya, Kung Lao, Raiden, and Kitana by destroying the Outworld Investigation Unit. Raiden and his allies had no choice but to rely on Raiden's powers for transportation, which was next to useless in Outworld. So while people dog pile Hsu Hao, he did more harm than people actually realize. Granted, he got killed off because Ed Boon hated him.

I do like the fact that Scorpion says "get out of here" instead of "get over here" when he kills Hsu Hao. You can tell that was Ed Boon talking because even he said he hated Hsu Hao. In Hsu Hao's defense, I like his Sun Moon weapon, he's a wrestler which is always a plus for me since I'm a wrestling fan and his story actually made the Red Dragon look like a threat. However, in the grand scheme of things, Hsu Hao is basically the lite version of Kano but with no personality and nothing worth remembering. I've actually seen comments from fans saying that Hsu Hao is no longer the most hated MK character, which is now D'Vorah because she killed beloved fan favourites Mileena and Scorpion. At least Hsu Hao is a background character and not shoved into the forefront of the current story.... AND he didn't kill characters we love in the story's canon timeline!

Here's the funny part about Hsu Hao in Armegeddon; Despite him being Ed Boon's most hated Mortal Kombat character, he wasn't the first Kombatant to get killed. In fact, the first person to get canonically killed in the Battle of Armageddon was Li Mei. Hell, Hsu Hao lasted for a surprisingly long time, able to both witness the Pyramid of Armageddon rise from the ground, and even make it fairly far up the the pyramid before he got pushed off during his fight against Johnny Cage.

Hsu Hao may have been the result of a terrible idea, but a character can always be salvaged with good writing. In this case, that writing was killing him off.

Hsu Hao did a lot: he infiltrated the SF before MK1, he lead them to destroy his faction's main rival the Black Dragon, while at the same time distracting the SF from the Red Dragon. He destroyed the OWIA's Portal, an achievment that took them years to develop and that they never managed to rebuild. Hsu Hao was a chad and a better version of Kano, but nobody saw that. They onyl saw "UNGA BUNGA, HE HAS AN UNGLY DESIGN XD" and thought he was a bad character.
There are two ways you could make Hsu Hao work as a character (Instead of what he is now; a turd). You can focus on how he managed to gain trust of all of special forces, maybe make a prequel where he's under a different name and face, he convinces Sonya to keep doggedly pursuing the Black Dragon, maybe he told her to go after Jarek despite helping defeat Shinnok, which leads to her death, and it's eventually revealed that he was a traitor. Or you can make him into one of the dragon-hybrids in Armageddon with the cybernetic implants still intact. A dragon-man that shoots lasers from his robo-heart is at least a little more interesting.
One thing I really like about Hsu Hao is that the guy is asian but isnt a ninja,isnt a shaolin monk and doesnt use mystical powers.I like that he uses wrestling moves,how physicaly strong he is and I think is cybernetic heart is pretty cool... I don't understand why nobody likes HsuHao. I belong to the small percentage of people that don't like main stream characters. HsuHao's branching combo in Deadly Alliance was sick & arrogant while the Sumo fighting style in Armageddon was easy to use & very damaging. Not big on special moves. Maybe his story line & originality were a little flat, but I still think he'd be a great evil aligned character with a little work. I grew up on Deadly Alliance. First Mortal Kombat I got into. Guess all the DA characters have a special place because I'm not an OG MK fan.

Ed Boon was so lazy. MK developers were also lazy. Ed Boon didn't have any idea to give Kira new moves. Midway rushed to finish Hsu Hao's undevelopment. If NRS made him revamp, he would have been interesting.
Like.....I totally agree that he's a lame character, but I don't understand why he's always considered the worst character ever/MK fans' punching bag. On top of my head, I can name 5 characters worse or equally bad as him. They also redesigned Kano with his heart piece so that's something. It definitely speaks volumes about the shallowness of the MK fan base that a character like Hsu Hao, where they at least tried to make an original character gets completely shat on, whilst Chameleon (the lamest palette swap ever) gets a pass because he's a ninja.
I think he suffers from what most of the 3D characters did, lack of interesting characterization, they should have gave him the ability to shoot lazers from his hands and have rockets in he feet seeing he is almost Iron Man with that heart.
Boi we all know Hsu Hao is the most powerful character in fiction. Like shit Hsu Hao slayed Cosmic Armored Superman, Ultra Instinct Shaggy, and Lightning McQueen with ease. Hsu Hao would've clapped some serious ass but died due to plot armor.
The problem of Hsu Hao was he was created and debut in "Wrong place and Wrong time" if he was debut in MK1. Back when characters still being live action. He would be nice Kano rival (People may say oh! another Kano but who cares! even Scorpion and Sub-Zero can expanded into another color ninja and they're all have their own characters. Which wouldn't work in these days) and he would got improved in later series. In a good way or bad way I don't care. At least he would got character development that he deserved because he's unique one. Hsu Hao design and moveset, weapon didn't bad as anyone and MK creator wants us to believing. It's disgusting to see MK creator didn't know how to reworked him and continued to bash him, toss him as a shit and focus on bring some outsider guest to joined the game as DLC. On the other hand, Fan-made game like "Mortal Kombat Project" or "Chaotic" can improved and reworked him as a nice playable characters (along with some characters that people always look-down) It's very saddest thing to see this situation.

There are two ways you could make Hsu Hao work as a character (Instead of what he is now; a turd).
You can focus on how he managed to gain trust of all of special forces, maybe make a prequel where he's under a different name and face, he convinces Sonya to keep doggedly pursuing the Black Dragon, maybe he told her to go after Jarek despite helping defeat Shinnok, which leads to her death, and it's eventually revealed that he was a traitor.
Or you can make him into one of the dragon-hybrids in Armageddon with the cybernetic implants still intact. A dragon-man that shoots lasers from his robo-heart is at least a little more interesting.

One thing I really like about Hsu Hao is that the guy is asian but isnt a ninja,isnt a shaolin monk and doesnt use mystical powers.I like that he uses wrestling moves,how physicaly strong he is and I think is cybernetic heart is pretty cool...
One thing I do find very disappointing about him is that he's a member of the Red Dragons.I would have preferred for him to be a true,loyal member of the OIA.

I don't understand why nobody likes HsuHao. I belong to the small percentage of people that don't like main stream characters. HsuHao's branching combo in Deadly Alliance was sick & arrogant while the Sumo fighting style in Armageddon was easy to use & very damaging. Not big on special moves. Maybe his story line & originality were a little flat, but I still think he'd be a great evil aligned character with a little work. I grew up on Deadly Alliance. First Mortal Kombat I got into. Guess all the DA characters have a special place because I'm not an OG MK fan.

I like Hsu Hao, he's not as cool as other Red and Black Dragons like Cobra, Jarek, and Malvado, but he was a good jobber and enhancement talent, he's was there to make Kenshi, Sonya, Jax, and Scorpion look good.

Ed Boon was so lazy. MK developers were also lazy. Ed Boon didn't have any idea to give Kira new moves. Midway rushed to finish Hsu Hao's undevelopment. If NRS made him revamp, he would have been interesting.

Like.....I totally agree that he's a lame character, but I don't understand why he's always considered the worst character ever/MK fans' punching bag. On top of my head, I can name 5 characters worse or equally bad as him. They also redesigned Kano with his heart piece so that's something. It definitely speaks volumes about the shallowness of the MK fan base that a character like Hsu Hao, where they at least tried to make an original character gets completely shat on, whilst Chameleon (the lamest palette swap ever) gets a pass because he's a ninja.

I think he suffers from what most of the 3D characters did, lack of interesting characterization, they should have gave him the ability to shoot lazers from his hands and have rockets in he feet seeing he is almost Iron Man with that heart.

Boi we all know Hsu Hao is the most powerful character in fiction. Like shit Hsu Hao slayed Cosmic Armored Superman, Ultra Instinct Shaggy, and Lightning McQueen with ease. Hsu Hao would've clapped some serious ass but died due to plot armor.

The problem of Hsu Hao was he was created and debut in "Wrong place and Wrong time" if he was debut in MK1. Back when characters still being live action. He would be nice Kano rival (People may say oh! another Kano but who cares! even Scorpion and Sub-Zero can expanded into another color ninja and they're all have their own characters. Which wouldn't work in these days) and he would got improved in later series. In a good way or bad way I don't care. At least he would got character development that he deserved because he's unique one.
Hsu Hao design and moveset, weapon didn't bad as anyone and MK creator wants us to believing. It's disgusting to see MK creator didn't know how to reworked him and continued to bash him, toss him as a shit and focus on bring some outsider guest to joined the game as DLC. On the other hand, Fan-made game like "Mortal Kombat Project" or "Chaotic" can improved and reworked him as a nice playable characters (along with some characters that people always look-down)
It's very saddest thing to see this situation.
