Lucky Strike - Okay, I’ve never heard of that style subwoofer personally. As for my design, I started with the owners manual or manufactures spec sheet. Need to know what the required net air space is for a sealed. This will let your know what the ported net air space should be. This box is a 2:1 ratio (sealed chamber 1cf and ported 2cf). Sealed chamber will cover the lower frequencies. Tune the ported chamber higher (40-50hz) to cover the higher frequencies. This box turned out very nice for me. Hope this information helps 👌🏾
@@210Designs Magnat is a german brand and back then it was popular in car audio competitions now they are doing other types of speakers. I usually just make a ported box. I'm thinking about making a 4th order box and from what I understand the box should be smaller than a ported box. You speaker spec for a ported box is 1.4 cu ft. so it's like 20x12x14 with 3/4 in thick and 3x8 for the port. How do you calculate for the extra chamber?
Joseph Wright - A lot of people like ported, because of the wider frequency bandwidth and ability to dial the subwoofer in more. Plus it’s a bit more efficient. However, bandpass/forth orders are very unforgiving if build incorrectly. I personally like ported. Easier to build and you can get loud very quickly.

Quick question boss. I'm going to be building a box with a little Aeroport tube. Now does the position of the sub and port matter in terms of which way they're facing? And where should the port be placed relative to where the sub is. Thanks
Alexo - You can position the sub/aero port where you like, as long as they do not touch in the inside. You can have them in the same side or opposite sides. I would recommend at least 3”-4” clearance, off the port loading wall. (Don’t want the port facing up against an outer wall). Needs to breathe.

@@210Designs I Just Ordered a Powered DD1512 Supercharged Custom. Was looking for a Tube/ Bandpass. The Custom is going to come in around 4weeks. I need one port tuned (as low as practical). Also what HZ is that port? Incredible sound!
I would like a custom box for a Rockford Fosgate P2 10" subwoofer. I have a Nissan hardbody 4x4 extra cab. I want to have a custom box made because I'm not satisfied with just sticking a pre-made cube box 16"×12×15" and just stick it back behind my passenger seat. I want a custom box made that, if possible, is not as high, and runs almost the whole width of the back area behind my seats. The reason?... so that the proper volume needed for the amount of square inches is the same, but it's lower going all the way across the back area so I can still have storage space back there. Can this be done?
Race Hinnen - I’m sure it can be done, but I only build locally. I’m not setup to ship, or build without seeing the vehicle. I have to physically measure everything for myself and be able to test fit.
Ty Kendrick - Set the sub in from the other side, mark my holes, pre-drilled from that side. Remove the sub, put in on the smaller side. Then used 1/4” ratchet and Phillips socket to screw into place.
Where abouts in OK? I'm in southeast Kansas but could be interested in having you build one for me and I'd pick it up. Provided it wasn't to far away. Thanks

Yo, SON..... that's a nice build. But how about putting a plexi-glass window instead? But damn, rounding off the edges sure does make a box look 10x better.
Tony Kart Racer - Thanks bro. Plexiglass would have definitely set it off, but this was for my sister and she’s not into that. Just wanted something low key. My wife suggested I start rounding my edges a while back and have done it ever since. Plus, it protects the edges from from chipping.
I tried to find them bro, but can’t locate the paperwork. I’m sure someone asked me in the past. You find them in one of the comments below. Sorry about that, but thanks for watching 👌🏽
Id you can try not to use cca wire Use pure oxygen free copper Much better altough expensive That aluminum isnt much good and wont handle as much wattage. Just a thought
Bj Hammon I was just assuming, it looks very small from the video. For a 4th order your port area should be close to half of your cone area, but bigger than what a ported box recommends. The reason port is bigger in bandpasses because all the sound is coming from inside the box, as opposed to ported boxes where only the back of the cone is letting the sound out of the port, the front of the cone is radiating outside the box into the area. With bandpasses, your cone is fully enclosed inside a box, so all your sound is coming from one area
Nibba -Okay, very good exploration 👌🏾 As stated in the the discrimination, this was my first time building one of these. If you could post me a link, explaining the correct way to construct a 4th order, as well as documentation stating this, I’d greatly appreciate that bro. So many people give their own interpretations on how things should be done, but I’m not interested in that. Im always looking to gain knowledge and build better boxes. Other than that, box tested great. Played country, hip/hip, rock, classical and jazz through it, with no issues. Hit every note, gets loud and low 🤙🏾 Thanks for you info tho and I’ll await to hear back from you.
Bj Hammon I have a writeup on these boxes that I found from a reputable builder on the forums a long time ago, but I asked a local box designer if this info is accurate and he said it is , not to mention I’ve built 4th orders before and they’ve always sounded good
Bj Hammon I don’t have a link I can find because the post was taken down but from what I can tell you, your sealed chamber size looks good, I’ve never built anything for 10’s but I’ve built a 4th order for a single 12 before. The 12’s like 1-1.3 cubes per sub on the sealed section while 15’s like 1.8-2.0 cubes per sub. The ported section should be big enough to allow proper port area and tuning, and that should be close to half of cone area. You can always shrink the port slowly to find the sweet spot which most people do, and tuning should always be from 40ish to 50 if possible, the closer you tune the front chamber to the sealed chamber resonance the louder you will get
Bj Hammon if you need more information on these boxes and want to see other people build them, follow 4th order audio builds on Facebook, but the advice I gave you is bulletproof and any veteran box builder will agree with my advice, mainly because I got my advice from veteran box builders lol (ram designs, Pete kulicki, and hunter Martin)

Honestly, I can’t remember bro. I looked through my notes and can’t find that build. Based on the vid, looks like 3/4”-1” wide. When I rounded the port opening, it makes it look wider 👌🏽
Thanks a lot✌
@@jorgegranados6794 - Wish I coulda been more help. But it should be 3/4”-1” wide 👌🏽
Is that a 1 to 3 ratio?
BrianS317 - 1:2
How much for Designing a Custom 4th? (PM)
This was my first time building one and did for for fun. I don’t charge for my cut sheets. Depending on the degree of difficulty, I may be able to get you one 👌🏽
Hi! Nice work! Could you give me your box detailed cutout measurements? Want to build same box for Boss Chaos Special Edition 800w 10"
sander junolainen - Thanks! I’ll check to see if I still have them written down somewhere.
Okay that would be nice :)
How do you get the measurements for the box
roni rome - I used a combination of programs. Couple of free ones are the12volt.com and reaudio.com
that's a nice clean box looks loud
Realdude rec - Thanks man, it does get pretty loud. It was my first time building one of these. Very happy with the outcome 🤙🏾
How do you drill the sub into the box being that close to the wall. Drill obviously cat fit
Ty Kendrick - Set the sub in from the other side, mark my holes, pre-drilled from that side. Remove the sub, put in on the smaller side. Then used 1/4” ratchet and Phillips socket to screw into place.
210 / Designs cool thanks about to build using the same design for my sundown
Ty Kendrick - Good deal! Let me know how your turns out 👌🏾
Sounds really good for a old school P1!!! Also what's the name of that song you tested it with?👍👍
RockfordT1 Bass - Thanks man! Song is called Bass Ballin’
Bj Hammon thank you very much sir👍
Bass Mekanik - bass ballin'
Box looks great but once you put that plate over the opening in front of the sub it was no longer a 4th order it was a standard band pass
Brian Evans / Thank you sir 🤙🏾
th-cam.com/video/41hDRYpZMME/w-d-xo.html - No ... its still a 4th Order as far as I can see!
Once you remove the plate, the chamber is no longer sealed...= just a standard ported box.
Please what is your ratio
I believe this one was 2:1 👍🏽
Thanks

Where abouts in OK? I'm in southeast Kansas but could be interested in having you build one for me and I'd pick it up. Provided it wasn't to far away. Thanks
Can you design boxes for specific spaces?
devin craven - All depends on the space and type of box. This is my first time doing a box like this, so I’m limited on experience. Sealed or ported box I have more experience in. Not a pro by any means, but I get’m banging 👍🏽
Bj Hammon I’m just looking for a ported box for an SA12. But I have very limited space
devin craven - What’s the dimensions of the area your wanting to put it? Box tuning? Port type? Sub/port locations?
Bj Hammon My max dimensions are width:32”, depth:10.5”, height:16”. I’m not even sure if it’s possible but I would like to give it about 1.75 cubic ft. Around 35hz. Square or circle port. What ever will work lol
Bj Hammon the sub and port facing backwards
Tough 💯 almost 2k subs ❗❗❗
excellent
Anand Prajapati. - Thanks!
210 that is in Texas area code San Antonio I believe I was down there for a few years and got familiar with some of the city's unless 210 is for something else
Louie Villa - I get that a lot, but it stands fur something else bro. It goes back to when we had pagers. “210” was my code. Second & tenth letter, in the alphabet.....BJ 👌🏾
It's only foam weather strip when it's on a door or window....when you use it in speaker box it's "acoustical enclosure sealant" ...you can charge more for it.😂...like the refirb on box 👍🏻
😂😂😂😂😂🤝 Never thought of it like that bro 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 Thank you for that great tip 🤙🏽
Nice work BJ
SprayWayCustoms - Thank you sir! You know I’m still waiting to see that wet-wet subwoofer box from SprayWayCustoms 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
SprayWayCustoms what's up spray way man I admire yo work bro watching from that H-TOWN
Do you build line arrays?
Learning1987 -Sorry, I sure don’t.
Nice 👍
James Jones - Appreciate that sir! I’m ready to see those 4-12” Skar-ZVX beating!!!!!!! 💯
Will you take individual custom orders?
Jason Sudbury - Not at this time bro. I build locally in my area.
Nice
Haresh Baraiya - Thanks
Kya ham bana saktehe
Would you consider designing a similar box?
210? Are you in SA?
iamrobed - Sorry, I’m in Oklahoma 👌🏾
Yep like i thought, to big. Thats why it wasnt loud, if it was for home audio it would be ok maybe.
how do you know it wasnt loud?????
Spec of the box please
I’ll see if I still them written down somewhere for ya 👌🏽
Tansk sir
that box looks way to big for that little sub, im curious to see how its gonna sound.
Amante Apasionado - No it wasn’t to big. Sub plays just fine 👌🏾
Bigger box means more output your not a bass head
Jerry Pino - Never said I was 🤷🏽♂️
Not to big good for low bass
Do you ship boxes?
Jonathan Washington - Sorry bro, I only build locally. Thanks watching and leaving the comment 👌🏾
@@210Designs where is local?
William Averill - Oklahoma 👌🏾
nice
Anand Prajapati. - Thanks!
Would this work for a 2K RMS 12 inch sub? I have a ported box that's extended now but I wanna push the subsonic dial on my amp...
Thabo Poo - I believe this build is to small for your sub and power. This is 10” 150rms sub.
Hey I got that same bracelet #itworks
Cost_effective - Thats what’s up bro 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Thanks for watching and leaving the comment.
Plz share magermant this box
I tried to find them bro, but can’t locate the paperwork. I’m sure someone asked me in the past. You find them in one of the comments below. Sorry about that, but thanks for watching 👌🏽
This video blew up
Damn!!!! Had no idea 🤭 Thanks for the heads up bro. A lot of people slept on this box. Had my shop rockin’ 💯
@@210Designs popped up in my recommended but I already seen it lol
how many
นิดหนึ่ง ถึงเก้า Home16 -How many what?
Id you can try not to use cca wire
Use pure oxygen free copper
Much better altough expensive
That aluminum isnt much good and wont handle as much wattage.
Just a thought
Want to sell the box
anthoney smith - 😂😂 I appreciate that bro, but my sister would kill me. She’s already seen and heard it 👌🏾
Bj Hammon just tell her it mysterious disappeared
anthoney smith - She kicked my ass once for lying......I learned my lesson 😇
Cant hear it
Think YT muted this one bro, sorry 🤝
Your port is too small
