Nobody cares, but the amount of discipline the drummer has and understanding of his place and each song is amazing. That type of playing is hard to come by anymore but I love it
This is the best damn thang I heard since Waylon Jennings and I named my first son after Waylon. Glad to hear there is still some real music. God knows their aint none playin on country radio.
I got introduced to this from The Leftovers!! Wow Strugill Simpson! You are authentic and awesome! If Country music would get back to real music like this I would listen to it more!
Sturgill HOTDAMN MANG....KEEP ON IT MAN ...UR TELE CHICKN PICKN IS FEEEEEENNNNAAAMINALLL SON!!! THANK YOU FOR BRING THE SOUND BACK AWESOME ...ALL THE WAY DOWN THE LINE ...CHASEN THAT LONG WHITE LINE TOOO..MUCH LOVE n PEACE " HOWLIN HARPMAN HOWDY"
+freudensammler - Giorgio Carlocitta Laur Joamets say like "LA-owr". He's Estonian, and shreds with such class- ridiculously good. In circles he's known as 'Lil Joe'. Sturgill's producer found him and brought him to Nashville, I think. Man's got skills- you'd swear that was a pedal steel your ear was hearin'
I don't care about the Waylon comparisons. That's great, but at the end of the day this is REAL. "Country Music" as they call it now - that "fiddle-pop" country-rap Georgia/Florida brain-dead low-effort b.s. they play now, is nothing in comparison.
Man, you really should check out their studio recordings before proclaiming that about Laur Joamets. This blistering live sound he's using is more broken-up than it is on most of the stuff on the records, more distorted. That dude plays Telecasters exclusively I believe and he gets a lot of different tones out of them, including straight country twang, imitating steel guitar with his slide and pinkie on the volume knob, a bunch of stuff. Sturgill is a great musical artist. He's not quite country or Americana or whatever label, just like Billy Strings isn't straight bluegrass either, and that's another artist that's just simply incredible as a player and songwriter.
+fatdaddy53 Chris Stapleton is great man, I dont know what your talkin about. He is introducing many new people to "real" country music, I think he is great for country music
Everyone says he sounds like Waylon. I hear a mix of a few Country greats, but mainly just hear Sturgill Simpson. He is a legend in his own right.
Definitely!!!
Solid on that.
I hear and see a lot of Keith Whitley in Sturgill myself. But, I agree, the man is a legend unto himself.
wisdom.
Truth
Nobody cares, but the amount of discipline the drummer has and understanding of his place and each song is amazing. That type of playing is hard to come by anymore but I love it
well said my man, he holds alot of pocket
AMEN!
He’s the only one in the band from the start
Miles miller (sturgills drummer)is also a badass singer too
that drummer is a MONSTER.
This is the best damn thang I heard since Waylon Jennings and I named my first son after Waylon. Glad to hear there is still some real music. God knows their aint none playin on country radio.
+Dustin Emerson I drove 5 hours to see him live and it was worth every minute of the drive.
+Kristy Hutchinson how far would you drive to see me :):):)
ah yeah he is a fucking legend. he's playing here in ireland next week but I cant go :(
+sean mc donagh Well I can't drive over water.. but I do have a boat... :P
Sturg is so god damn country he had to tone it down and wear some new balance shoes.
+Eric Palacios I respect his choice of sneaker
Yeah. :-)
Best comment ever
LOL, that is a great comment!
Navy issue.
Saw them live 2 times. Rocked the house balconies shook.
Laur joamets is a monster guitar player, one of my favorite slide players also!!!

Wish this man still did shows
Good news, friend. He’s back and BETTER THAN EVER!!!

George Jones is the GOAT
He needs to release a live album
To the people who thumbed this down ... Sturgill is gonna make you go pick your switch
Favorite song right now. Speaks for a majority of people of how they feel about their society.
OBSSESSED.......................🤩
Like Merle Haggard meets the Allman Brothers! Just awesome!
This gives such a Duane era ABB vibe. A new intensity on each song and almost a jam rock edge that the record doesn’t have.
When the RAMBLIN FEVER of the guitar starts at 00:53………..❤
I am sure hank done it this way
Heater 🔥
I know this man's music touched me deep inside in more ways than one ❤
Iv go to see these guys live. I'm going to make sure I do.
Who cares what he wears, he and his band jam so badass! I love him 😍
Lil Joe is my guitar hero
Saw two shows back in May.

Not sure if anyone has ever mentioned this, but he sounds a little bit like Waylon!
As Jaren Johnston would say "that guitarist is a ninja"! Wow!!!
Great Tune!
His drummer is in the damn pocket.
Syrugell must be kin folk to Ronnie VanZant, his live perfornmaces are as good and many times better. This wass one of VanZant's traits with L.S.
so great !
Holy shit. He’s amazing.
fuck me...I will never get sick of Laur's guitar playing.
some days you blast off, some days you just smoke. LOL

STRUG ...THE NEW COUNTRY MUSIC LOVE IT...
So great to see Sturgill on ACL!
This is fuckin' it right here.
What´s the name of the lead-guitarist? Thanks for help. ... update: found it: It´s Laur Joamets
+freudensammler - Giorgio Carlocitta Laur Joamets say like "LA-owr". He's Estonian, and shreds with such class- ridiculously good. In circles he's known as 'Lil Joe'. +Kev Martin - Thanks a lot! I hope he´ll be in Hamburg in January with Sturgill.
+freudensammler - Giorgio Carlocitta He's an awesome musician!
Laur
Why did they tape over ROLAND on the keyboards?
How many fucking guitars does Laur have ? They all sound good but by god he has a new one every show
...in the end, ya'h know they won't.
I think he sounds a lot like Jerry Reed
Those who know, they get it. Those who don't, fuck'em we don't need'em.
Who's just now finding Sturgill?
Welcome, some days I listen to everything he has put out beginning to end while working. Gives me like 5-6 hours or so, and I don’t ever get bored
What happened to the guy in the "Sun King Brewery" video? Prefer that version and guitarist.
Yeah he was a great guitarist. Nothing on Laur though.
Two great guitarists, but I prefer the brewery version: Adam Davis has a much cleaner sound, and he's so entertaining to watch!
huh...a country song I actually like. that's new.
I think he sounds a lot like Hank Jr!!
Can't believe 30 people gave this a thumbs down,WTF!
They are probably Big n Rich fans. They can't stand good music.
If Hank, Waylon, Coe had a Baby together.. dam good music.
I don't care about the Waylon comparisons. That's great, but at the end of the day this is REAL. "Country Music" as they call it now - that "fiddle-pop" country-rap Georgia/Florida brain-dead low-effort b.s. they play now, is nothing in comparison.
(Drum beat)
VERY SUPERSTI.......... o wait.
Waylon reincarnated
EVERYTHING! about u guys are great cept u dont make ur wrds clear enough to understand wtf your singing!
+fatdaddy53 haha. seriously, get a hearing aid. it's clear as day. he's even better live in concert. epic guitarist too!
HE MUMBLES HIS WORDS BUT I DO LOVE THIS SHIT
Well this dude right here is a BMF.
Stellar artist. Wish a banjo replaced the electric guitar.
Listen to the Cuttin’ Grass version.. basically a bluegrass version.
