This man deserves the biggest apology ever from everyone. He did not deserve any of this :( His life was already difficult enough. I however am so proud of him, proud of the man he has become.
Untamed was my base to Chinese culture, it got me into Chinese musical instruments, clothes, Chinese costume dramas as well as mxtx novels and though I personally follow lan wangji ideology but I was fond of weiwuxian character both in novel and drama and I felt like Xiao zhan was made for this character, I searched about Xiao zhan and when I find out that he is banned because of some foolish reason I was dumbstruck I felt like he is literally living weiwuxian life, looking him now, really happy for him and his success.
I thought the exact same thing! I mean it's like he is living Wei wuxian's life in modern times. I'm not saying he is Wei wuxian but they are very similar. it makes me feel sad for him but also really proud that he pulled through all his struggles

The Untamed actually got me hooked on Chinese drama. I will be truthful I had not read the original book before watching the drama but Xiao Zhan & Wang yibo both portrayed their character so well that I was left speechless especially Xiao Zhan. After that I read the whole novel(I have woken up an obsession for novels now). After reading the novel I felt like Xiao Zhan was born to play the role of Wei Wuxian and now I am a loyal fan of Xiao Zhan.

This man really blew me away in The Untamed. It was just such a raw and heartfelt performance and he's just an exceptionally talented artist. Hopefully after all these set backs the poor guy can finally focus on his career and get the recognition he deserves.

I watched The Untamed in 2019 and it is still my favorite show to this day. 2020 was a terrible year for Xiao Zhan. But also for everyone who likes this young man. It was unfair and just plain terrible. I am an old woman (54). He could be my son. I felt so sorry for him. But it made all the fans stronger. And we love him even more.

For the Chinese fans, it’s ok to idolized any actors/actress, but to invade their privacy and causing them distress and ruined their career is unacceptable. It’s a brutal business and to live in fear constantly because you’re doing something unintentional, and then you’re severely punished is not the way to make a living. The privacy, the freedom of doing what you love should be protected. I hope those Chinese fans will think about it carefully because loving and crazy about some actors are two different things, you can’t destroying their lives just because you don’t like what they’re doing.

The term Idol is the same as fan for stars in the US. There is no religious meaning behind it. However, the fans take it to the extreme and act like their favorite stars owe them for making them famous and can break them if they want. They even say it. The stars livelihood depends on being able to work , acting or modeling or marketing products. They are not supporting them correctly imho when they stop them from making a living.

Constantly placing Xiao and Yibo in their imaginary relationship, they are putting more pressure on both these men and to ignore and stay away from each other in public. Because of his performance in The Untamed, playing the flute, it made me determined to learn. I ordered my first flute and I will practice endlessly until I am good.

Just watched the untamed after watching the anime version.
I became so attached to the characters, Wei Wu Xian and Lan Wang Ji, that I have been searching everywhere videos, interview, behind the scene of the actors.
He performed so well his role, the crying and laughing just got to the heart of the viewers, he is stunning in everything, for someone who just started to learn to dance in the competition, we can see how hard working he has been to be able to catch up.
So sad that he had to go through the 227 case... he did nothing wrong but had to apologize to everything... He really is the real life Wei Wu Xian ...

Yep. Same here! My family would say I was in love with both characters from the untamed. Yibo and Zhan played masterfully given the chinese censorship. Very talented actors anf ZY paid with his health for making that series. The storues of his embodying the character are akin to what Daniel Day Lewis (My Lwft Foot), Martin Freeman (Hobbit) and Hugo Morgenstein (TLOTR) did with their presence in the movies.

Une fanfiction est apparue montrant une histoire d'amour entre wang yi bo et Xiao Zhan (habillé en femme), ce qui a créé un scandal parmi les fans de Xiao Zhan qui ont dénoncé la plateforme de fanfiction. Celle-ci a finalement été fermée par le gouvernement chinois ce qui a attristé tous les fans de la plateforme qui ont commencé à s'attaquer à Xiao Zhan... Cela a failli détruire sa carrière. Il s'est excusé de n'avoir rien pu faire face à lampleur de la situation , alors qu'il n'y était pour rien. Thank you for making this mini documentary of XZ career path. I just have known him accidentally this July 2023 through his drama The Longest Promise having no other kdrama that interests me. I am not a fan of cdrama because of its very long episodes but like its xianxia. Since the white costume of the man in the thumbnail reminds me of a drama I really like a long time ago, I started watching ep 1 with not much expectation. But by 2nd episode, I know I was in danger. I have fallen and fully captivated by the acting of this man. Then I started searching for his other dramas and movie and tumbled upon The Untamed. I also discovered that he is not only a very passionate and good actor but also a good person who went through a lot but remained strong yet humble. He truly is worthy of my respect. I stan the right man. I am trapped, forever. Not complaining though. Wo ai ni Zhan-ah.😊❤❤❤

@@precioussword2263 The Untamed is XZ's breakout drama. He's considered iconic for his role Wei Wuxian in The Untamed. TU is a BL drama that's not for everyone. But the drama touched many fans' heart for the storylines in depth. The first few eps are a bit hard for many ppl to get by since the plot was done in retrospect.
@@precioussword2263 Unfortunately XZ only had two xianxia dramas under his belt now. He is a versatile actor so it's expected he'd taken challenges in other genres. But you can look forward to his upcoming costume drama again after he wrapped up filming the movie, The Legend of Condor Heroes.

His management company had every right to protect their star and his branding. It’s a pity and a tragedy when so called fans become fanatics and blackmailers. I love watching Korean and Chinese dramas and movies more than any from other countries because all these Actors and Actresses as well everyone associated to entertainment industry give 100% to their craft. So why do governments, management companies, agents etc. give into these fanatics? People and governments should be proud of these people who are extremely talented and well represent the culture and arts.
