I wouldn't like to call it SO much better, I do appreciate the official one. It's good that's it's such a different vibe. This one has more uplifting tones. It's sort of like Let down by Radiohead in that it's simultaneously joyful and sad, and Paul's finiishing idea was to make it lean more meloncholic, which I think he did because he thought John would have taken it more in that directtion and I think he was paying respect to the original leader of the almighties
For me this is the best version of the song and the one that makes more sense, considering this would have been released for the anthology 3 it keeps the style of rhe abbey road era. I was kinda sad when the official version was released 😢

I knew more or less the story behind this song and I always enjoyed listening this version, because it was the closest "new Beatles track" we used to have. I'm really glad that now it's avaible again, a great part of the "non-official" Beatles releases
I remember listening to this original version of the song before the new version was released. I don’t remember where I heard it though. When it was taken down, I didn’t even realize it. Once the new version was released, I tried looking for this one, but couldn’t find it anywhere. I thought that I was crazy at first, but I apparently had downloaded an mp3 of the original song before it got taken down. So I listened to that for the time being. It’s great to know that someone aside from me actually knows and cares about the original version too.

The ringing sound at the beginning of this is reminiscent of both the bells at the beginning of Mother on John's POB as well as the "wishing bells" at the beginning of Starting Over. This version pays a very nice homage to them both and somehow brings things full circle in my mind.

The hanging section left out of the new version is also weak that's why they cut it out..the refrain or chorus needs to be repeated in a song that's why it is in the official version. You guys don't know how to write songs that's why you give this version a thumbs up but it is definitely weak and the official version is strong.
