It's insane these guys are barely out of high school they could all be in college and they're writing this kind of music that's insanely advanced. I don't know where it came from. The four of them together were just magic. They didn't write a bad song. Every album every song every note every lyric every vocal meant something.
Yes the Beatles were great and their music will live for ever. Although I must say that 99% of the songs are first class, there are a couple that are not.. Not to distract from their greatness , were a big influence on my life I think..
Nah. Way too many dumb or silly songs from The Beatles for them to be '#1;' however, this is certainly one of the great ones not only of The Beatles, but in the vast cannon of timeless pop music.
@@Lunatic4Bizcas You can categorize some of what they did as dumb and silly if you would like but the point is that it resonates with people across generations and across cultures and countries. They will likely always top the list of best bands that have existed or best writing collaboration (Lennon/McCartney).
@@junodonatus4906 : The Beatles were great no doubt, but in my view they were not the greatest of all time as many like to claim nor the best of their generation. They had tremendous songs no doubt. Some of the best were due to the genius wizardry of their sound engineers like Phil Spector (Yes; the psycho). Across the Universe and The Long and Winding Road come to mind. As far as their topping lists, I could care less. A lot of those lists are contrived by mainstream corporations and are nothing more than bias fluff designed to manipulate the masses by perpetuating a myth, which was the result of heavy advertising and propagandist praise to begin with. To me, the Rolling Stones were more influential on what rock became. There have been bands influenced by the Beatles no doubt, but most of them aren't nearly carbon copies and have only taken from The Beatles what suits them. Critics like to point out how The Stones early on took a Bealtes' song and made it their own as if that is the benchmark for concluding that the Beatles are superior. ¡ How laughable ! The Stones' brought rebellion to rock and roll and there was hardly anything pretentious about them (At their height). Momma's little Helper or 19th Nervous Breakdown were two tracks that could've easily been punk rock songs years before that genre even emerged. As far as experimentation goes, the best bands of the 60's in that regard were King Crimson and The Mothers of Invention.
@@Lunatic4Bizcas There were more eighties bands than I care to count right now that were influenced by Led Zeppelin but ended up being cheap copies, like Kingdom Come or Whitesnake. And today, Greta Van Fleet. We can talk about the great songs of many bands but I think that overall greatness has to do with innovation, setting trends not copying them, and of course great songs. Even though art is a matter of taste I think it's safe to say that most people would put both Led Zeppelin and The Beatles above The Rolling Stones.
the "life is very short" waltz like bridge is the best piece of music ive ever heard ,it never fails to stir something in me ....the way the song slows and the harmonies then kicks back into full speed ,it does something to me😂
I've watched so many Beatles clips in my life, and what I've noticed is that when John and Paul are in the same room, no matter *who* else is there with them, no one exists for them but each other.
that's because they were both geniuses and crucially, recognised that in eachother. thats why that period of early cooperation produced such magic in terms of songwriting - each genius allowed input/constructive criticism by another he deemed to be on his level, thus the songs went through a crucible of forging that spat out anything deemed unworthy not just by one genius, but two. consequently only the best made it through in addition each others forte was complemented by the others. john had a love for passionate, raw and rhythmic music whereas paul excelled at melody and hooks. when combined together with the sheer will of the band in the early days, this amounted to a formidable songwriting partnership in fact so formidable that the band's third genius - who would have been lead singer/songwriter in almost any other band in history.. was largely relegated to bit part role in terms of songwriting - usually having to come up with literal all time classics to get his songs on the albums and we all benefited massively from this
@@gretchennelson9965 well... it's a 'half glass empty' way of looking at it. It happened the way it was meant to. But we're overlooking Ringo's *massive* input also. Perfect drummer for the perfect group.
Today I'm taking a trip back in time, by listening to The Beatles Hits, Volume 1. At 70, this music transports me back to a simpler time, relishing in my youthful days. They didn't set out to change the world, but they certainly did! And for the better, THANK GOD! I have 2 bands as number one IMHO, THE BEATLES & LED ZEPPELIN!!! John, Paul, George & Ringo forever. 🎶 ❤👩🦳☮🎶
These four are almost single-handedly responsible for making young people think that a career in music is a valid option. I thank them from the bottom of my heart. The world is a better place with more musicians.
Even if the path to believing a career in music in music is unattainable, or incredibly unlikely The path of pursuing it, that path is not futile because making good music is challenging, difficult, and leads to meaning.
It's just unbelievable, that in the 21st century, almost 50 years since they first appeared on Ed Sullivan, that the Beatles music still sounds fresh, great, excellent!
That's the problem. you people are whining about modern music while your too fucking lazy too actually look for some real music that's being made today.
5 seconds showing Lennon-McCartney chemistry at its best: 0:07 John fooling toward the camera as usual 0:10 John fooling around even more and Paul realizes that something is going on, in a rapid sequence breaks eye contact with audience, looks to somebody in the room, looks towards John and understands what's going on 0:12 John turns to Paul who smiles back like "yeah you did it again"

No one does vocal harmonies better than Lennon & McCartney. It's like their voices were meant by heaven to be combined.
Yes, they are amazing but I might argue Mamas and Papas, CSNY and Simon and Garfunkle were slightly better if one were analysing just the harmonies.
John and Paul were great, no doubt. But it is George's voice that is key to holding those harmonies tight and together.

Magical is the word , John made a pact with satan , thats how they went from relative obscurity to the most popular group in the world . Did not John say we are more famous than Jesus . Nah. Way too many dumb or silly songs from The Beatles for them to be '#1;' however, this is certainly one of the great ones not only of The Beatles, but in the vast cannon of timeless pop music.
@@Lunatic4Bizcas stop the cap
@@Lunatic4Bizcas
You can categorize some of what they did as dumb and silly if you would like but the point is that it resonates with people across generations and across cultures and countries.
@@Lunatic4Bizcas
There were more eighties bands than I care to count right now that were influenced by Led Zeppelin but ended up being cheap copies, like Kingdom Come or Whitesnake.

I've watched so many Beatles clips in my life, and what I've noticed is that when John and Paul are in the same room, no matter *who* else is there with them, no one exists for them but each other.
Freshcookies 21 TRUE
that's because they were both geniuses and crucially, recognised that in eachother. thats why that period of early cooperation produced such magic in terms of songwriting - each genius allowed input/constructive criticism by another he deemed to be on his level, thus the songs went through a crucible of forging that spat out anything deemed unworthy not just by one genius, but two. consequently only the best made it through
in addition each others forte was complemented by the others. john had a love for passionate, raw and rhythmic music whereas paul excelled at melody and hooks. when combined together with the sheer will of the band in the early days, this amounted to a formidable songwriting partnership
in fact so formidable that the band's third genius - who would have been lead singer/songwriter in almost any other band in history.. was largely relegated to bit part role in terms of songwriting - usually having to come up with literal all time classics to get his songs on the albums
and we all benefited massively from this
@@jackssmirkingrevenge9365 So everyone benefited massively from Geo being sidelined? Well, that’s certainly a different way of looking at it.🤔
